Knott's Berry Farm Returns to Roots
While I couldn't have imagined such a thing not too long ago, I now will be surprised if it doesn't happen at Kings Island.

Kings Island 2015 Discussion Thread
I think that anything that happens so close in proximity to arguably the most important part of Kings Island qualifies as extremely interesting.

Kings Island 2015 Discussion Thread
I can't stop thinking about what could be going on at the Tower Gardens spot. I think this is one of the most interesting developments ever at Kings Island.

Anyone else a little skittish about attending this (especially if you have to drive a considerable distance), even if you feel that you've met all the criteria?

Will there ever be an *Official* Son of Beast Documentary
Maybe they could show it at the Kings Island Resort and Conference Center after they remodel it since they're both equally probable of happening.

International Restaurant Entrance?
The shame of it is that it's still a really neat/unique facility. Just sitting there, barely used, above the entrance to one of the world's largest amusement parks. Kind of amazing when you think about it.

International Restaurant Entrance?
I still remember, not sure of the year, when I realized the IR was just closed. This was long before finding out information on the Internet. After seeing it closed a few times, it dawned on me it must be closed for good. I don't think it was announced or anything, they just kind of quit opening it, if I remember correctly. It was a real bummer because it was close to the time when I was finally able to visit the park on a regular basis, after just hearing about it for decades. Glad I got to eat there once, though.

Kings Island Resort After it Closed
I last stayed at the "resort" in 2013. I also stayed there in 2011, 2009, 2008 (and 1992). I don't think anyone that walked in up through 2013 (can't speak to 2014, but can't imagine it was much different) would even remotely call it "run down". The entry area/foyer was really nice. In 2013, I thought the room I stayed in could stand updating. I noticed things like trim around the doors, etc. were a bit worn, but that's it. Can't speak for every room and every hallway, though. Having said that, it's footprint was massive. Once I got to be a little bit older, I began to wonder how they supported it, especially given the amount of competition. If you never, or just not recently, visited the Kings Island Resort, it wasn't something that was decaying away...it just had gotten a bit dated. As much as I hate to see it go, it is completely understandable why it did.

Week XVII: Most Memorable Topic on KIC
"Rumor 2009 coaster" is the biggest one I can think of. The first (though unsolicited) pics of the (rumored to be) drained Swan Lake were shocking.

Cedar Point Winter Chill-Out
- Kings Island 2015 Discussion Thread
I still try to wrap my head around what it must have been like to witness a project on that scale pop up in a field in southwestern Ohio.- Week XVI: Fate of Kings Island Inn
If I had my say, I wouldn't convert it. I'd remodel it. I am seriously bummed out about the Resort's fate. A visit to Kings Island has, for several decades, meant that the Kings Island Inn/Resort may be a part of that trip. I'd like to see a revitalized resort. Please know, however, I understand there is virtually no chance of that happening.- Carowinds will be investing $50 million in the next three years!
I've always been a huge fan of Kings Island's entry gate as it is. However, this thread has my mind racing with the possibilities!! Also, I really want to go to Carowinds!- Great Wolf Apollo Acquisition
I've even thought of that. If the hotel was close enough, say like GWL, the hotel would essentially be part of the park. Admission to the hotel would require/include park admission. Of course, the challenge there would be to secure the hotel property like the rest of the park. Perimeter fence? You would have to go through KI's parking tolls to get to the hotel.- Great Wolf Apollo Acquisition
I've always thought it would be neat, if Kings Island had its own hotel again, to build a coaster that you would get on just outside of the hotel, and you could ride it into the park. Have two stations - like the train - one at the hotel, one in the park. Imagine not having to walk, or drive to the park, just "thrill ride" your way into it! What a perk that would be for staying in the hotel.- Racer Future
I wonder how many people that visit Kings Island in 2015 even know why Coney Mall is there in the first place. There's X-base, Dinosaur's Alive, and WindSeeker - all that have nothing to do with the "Coney Mall" concept (of course the same could be said about the rest of the areas of the park) all kind of swallowing the area from the outside in. Before long, The Racer will be the one that doesn't match its surroundings. How sad! I have wondered what a re-imagined Racer could be like. Moving the queue possibly towards the area of Timberwolf, and having two "dueling" steel gigacoasters with an exaggerated version of Racer's layout. - Kings Island 2015 Discussion Thread
