  1. ^Thanks! A few thoughts from my trip on Wednesday: The park looked, as you can tell from the pics, fantastic. The landscaping everywhere looks great, and it seemed like every square inch of the park was spotless. How you can keep that much acreage that clean is a truly mind-boggling feat. Even though the park looked relatively light crowd-wise from the pics, the lines for everything mounted up very quickly. You can see the empty Bat queue in one of the pics. That was shortly after 10:00. By noon-1:00 the line was backed up to at least the halfway point of the queue. Reminded me of 1993. As you can also see from one of the pics above, the FastLane pass line was really long. Maybe a FastLane for the FastLane line? I am also wondering when, if ever, the park would offer a FastLane for the food lines. It sounds like I'm joking but I could seriously see that taking off. The line for every place to eat in the main park was huge. I love mornings at Kings Island, and I also like breakfast foods (especially oatmeal), so I was really glad to find it at Starbucks! It's really good if you're a fan of oatmeal. Don't know if this is a new thing or has been there for awhile. I really like how many places in the park offer the 10% discount for Gold Pass holders. I used it a lot.
  2. Haven't done one of these in awhile....the weather looked great, and haven't been to Kings Island since May, so I went for it! These are just some general pics from around the park. Everything is looking great right now! Enjoy! Isn't this always the best feeling?

  4. ^Yes, the best part of the ride is that, when riding it, it feels nothing like it looks when it is operating.
  5. All of the special events Kings Island has been doing makes me wish I lived closer than 90 minutes from the park so I could do them all!
  6. Thanks! My friend was also wondering what these were used for, and I told her I knew just the place to find out!
  7. A friend of mine just gave me this awesome gift...I have never seen or heard of these before. It's really well made, like a real dollar bill. Anyone know the story on these?
  8. I was actually glad to see those temps....I run a lot better when its cooler out. I thought it was 40s for the start (but warmed up quickly) of the Color Me Pink run last year...I remember it being fairly chilly.
  9. Kings Island is great. Beer is great. Something about an ice cold one at Kings Island is just really amazing. I like to mention this whenever I get the chance: The Biergarten (so cool that it's called that now) - formerly Hank's Back Porch Bar - is a real gem at Kings Island. I've always found the staff there to be very experienced and professional. It's a very relaxing place to go. Plus, how appropriate (if you're 21 or over of course) to have a beer at the Biergarten?? It's just plain nostalgic!
  10. I rode PT for the first time when I was about 20 with some friends. I knew nothing about Kings Island at that time, we just happened to walk past it. I even thought back then that it seemed really out of place in the kid's area. After seeing videos, I can see why kids liked EV and Smurf's EV so much.
  11. It's too bad there's no dark ride for today's kids to look back on as fondly as many of you on here do about what used to be there. I think Kings Island has done a great job of updating and adding things where it's needed, and I think what is there now should be their next "target". I was lucky enough to ride Enchanted Voyage, but unfortunately I was too young to remember it!
  12. How lucky is it that when they add something like that to a popular ride that slows down its operation you're able to buy something to bypass the line?
  13. I'm never quite sure about why so many people are surprised when Kings Island brings in things that are "commercialized" from other companies. This is actually very nostalgic and closely mirrors how Kings Island started out...take a look through this 1974 brochure and count how many things are brought in from outside entities: http://KICentral.com/history/photos/thumbnails.php?album=8
  14. Still the best! That really makes me want to get to Kings Island.
  15. Not this year. Mega Nachos, Metts or boneless wings. They got rid of the brats with German potato salad??
  16. Thanks for posting all of those fantastic pics! Can't wait to see all of that in person!!
  17. It looks like the partial-swing element just at the end is a nod to TG/FD/The Bat!
  18. Viking Fury, without a doubt. That ride is as Kings Island-iconic to me as The Eiffel Tower and The Beast.
  19. You must have missed the drinking fountain discussion a few years ago.
  20. Thanks!!! I have no idea how it got switched to the other one...I really appreciate it.
  21. When I'm in the forums, should it look like this?:
