This is a little math nerd post about WindSeeker's foundation.
I got to thinking about WindSeeker's (and Drop Tower's for that matter) structure, and how important I would think it would be that the foundation would have to be extremely level. According to my calculations, for every .01" of slope on the foundation, the "tower" part of the ride would lean 3" (assuming the tower is perfectly straight). It seems like for something as tall and skinny as the towers on these rides, any lean would be disastrous.
Of course, none of this says anything about when the wind blows on a perfectly straight structure. A 300 foot tower would seem to have a mind boggling amount of leverage.
To sum up, that foundation is one piece of awesome engineering!
