All I've known is "Paramount's" Kings Island. So, to me, that IS Kings Island. So, I guess I appreciate most of what they did. I think IJ is a neat ride, but I also disagree with its placement. I'm just hoping CF doesn't mess up whats already there.

It looks like if you buy any pass, its automatically Gold. I am going to assume this will apply to the early birds (like myself) too.

Hopefully they get the move on. Not just for us...Carowinds opens in about 60 days!!

That would get KI's new owners instantly in the good graces of MANY people.

I hope I don't get screwed over for buying early in the fall after waiting in two long lines, during a chilly FearFest night.

They are advertising "4 pack" passes on their season pass page. This is new, isn't it??

Thank You! These are questions I am asked sometimes on a trip to KI. I had a pretty good idea thats the way it was. A girl I went with in the fall, I believe, was under the impression that they install rides, and they just sit there, and everyone just "hopes" that they're not falling apart.

With the news about X-flight going at least somewhere going on, it reminded me of some general questions I've had about roller coasters. 1) When there is a new ride that comes, I can only imagine the highly specialized level of expertise it would take to install one. Does a park like KI have enough people on staff to do an installation like that? I wouldn't think you could subcontract just any construction crew to handle that. 2) On a daily (during the season) basis, does each coaster/ride have its own dedicated crew that checks it out everyday, or is there a group that does several throughout the park?

Very exciting! Wow, when you see it up close, those pieces of track are BIG!! Great job!!

I know I'll be in the minority, but I love a theme. If there's some kind of story being told, I like that as much as the ride itself.

A modernized version of this would have been neat:

What would really be old school would be to build X-Flight over water. What caused the end of that trend? All the old rides were always over water. (Go Viking Fury!!)

I think the area should be themed to the Brady Bunch. FOF would become "Flight of Cheer". The cars would look like the Brady's station wagon, and there would be scenes from the show inside the building. X-Flight would become "Alice's Clothesline: Hung out to Dry".

I know the lady was probably joking, but when I used my new pass for the second time during FearFest, she looked at the monitor and me a few times and said "is that really you?"

How about if the thing even somehow went over by Boomerang Bay? I agree it would be a great 40th anniversary installation. "Skyrider" or something like that would be such a nod to the past, too.

Right now, I'll just take one without snow! Anybody else looking forward to spring??

This is one issue that does seem crazy. Sounds like something they would have done 50 years ago. Can you see some couple that have bought season passes for them and their family, all rolling into the parking lot in a new $70,000 SUV (one of several of their cars) and some parking attendent telling them they have to stick this sticker on their windshield...and this is the ONLY car you can bring to the park if you want free parking??

They already built it. Beast. I love how it follows the terrain, and all of the land it covers. Its so cool how you are just out in the middle of nowhere all of the sudden. I always think what it was like to ride it when it first opened, about the same time when the Friday the 13th movies were just coming out. To me the ride is almost sort of like a scary movie in a way. On a side note, wonder what a coaster that went over different parts of the park would be like? Like, it would start in say, Rivertown, go up, swoop over a couple other areas, and then come back. The real challenge would be finding where to put the footings, and getting the track to snake around and high enough to clear different structures. "Revenge of the Sky Ride?"

I can't believe that I actually rode Enchanted Voyage. I read about it alot on these forums. I went back and found some old pics, and actually found ones of me on it. I just don't remember it! I've even listened to the theme song, but it doesn't help. I was just too little to remember. Well, I'm glad at least that I did ride it at one time.

I've gotta say Top Gun circa '93. It was so cool being all-new, all the theming, and everyone in flight suits.

If it is true. I will be really excited. I bet I will spend more money when I go to Kings Island! (Hey, wait, I bet thats the point!)

Somebody said on here that the design of the entrance gate give the feeling of compression/then being "released" into IS. I would have to say thats my favorite part of my day at KI. Hearing the music, and then stepping out into IS. I hope the entrance gate doesn't go anywhere! Starbucks in the IR location is interesting. Great view, and people can hit it first thing in the morning (I know I would!!).

I love to see all the different food stands at KI, but, as has been stated before, there are some almost never open. I wonder if it may come to "consolidating" a large portion of the food service to a just a couple main restaurants?

The only time that FestHaus has ever "made sense" to me was this year at FearFest. It was freezing cold out, so it was a warm place to go, and the "Swiss Alps" atmosphere almost started to make sense to me. However, the food was a sad joke, because I had to take my meal back up to the counter as it was inedible. In the summertime, except to possibly escape heat exhaustion, I have no idea why anybody would step foot in there.
