If we do get X-flight, it won't be called "X-flight", will it? Won't they give it a different name/theme?
-
What will they say about Kings Island? We're Not Paramount!
-
^We all know everybody would vote for that (that could remember it) Just trying to be optimistic about the upcoming season!
-
There seems to be lots of changes in store for the park this upcoming season. So many rumors, new rides, possibly new restaurants, name change, logos, etc, etc.... Just how good (or bad) do you think its going to be?
-
Sweet. That would be a highlight for me.
-
I am just stunned by the amount of detail. Its also makes it a bit tougher to be in Central Ohio in the middle of winter. One question...the Summit Plummet...the highest slide has to go somewhere, it looks like it launches you into oblivion. Does it actually go under the rocks?

What roller coaster in your opinion had its best year ever? Adventure Express-the little engine that "could". Seemed like the lines for it were longer this year than I can remember before. Son of Beast: A "legend" has been born. The second coming of The Bat, but this time it gets to stay open. What thrill ride in your opinion had its best year ever ? Drop Zone-new paint, always long lines. What was the best thing that happened this year at Kings Island? It got a new, guest-attracting neighbor (GWL) It got a new owner (HOPING this is a good thing!) Was visited by the show 'Rob & Big': nationwide exposure What restaurant had the best food? Rivertown LaRosa's: anything would taste good there! Awesome setting. BGSS: Food was good, reasonable for what you got, great views. Ice Cream place in AZ: $3.50 for a Root Beer float is reasonable in an amusement park. Again, great setting. What crew/area was best? The girl that greeted me at The Beast was really nice. Parking people were especially nice. What show in 2006 was the best in your opinion? N/A What change from 2005 to 2006 was the best? Opening of GWL

What New Attraction Can We Expect From Cedar Fair
KIfan73 replied to RailRider's topic in Coming Attractions
I think KI is like a good classic car. Its got plenty of horsepower, just needs a few odds and ends taken care of, and its gonna be a real stunner -
I vote for this idea!
-
I always think that if there's an attraction at KI or another amusement park that I wouldn't partake in if it wasn't in an amusement park, then I definitely am not going to with it being in an amusement park at inflated amusement park prices. Almost any restaurant thats been around as long as Wings has been remodeled. I think a place like Wings being empty on busy days goes to show that even I'll-pay-$3.50-for-an-ice cream-cone-just-because-I'm-at-Kings Island people have their limits.
-
Yes. Wings diner is bad. Really bad. I will have to agree that the buffet during FF was a step in the right direction. Seems a shame Wings has been allowed to stay open while they closed IR.

I can't believe there's no shuttle back and forth. I know, I know there's no official "connection" between the Lodge and the park, but still. To an average person like me. I will be much more likely to want to stay in the Lodge this summer if there was some neat entrance to the park from the Lodge. -
I had no idea the POV's would work! KC was a fun and intense ride. I'm really glad I was able to make that possible for you guys. Wow! I'm even more suprised. The drop straight into a loop while standing up was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience, was well as the stand-up air time on the last hills.

I ate in the International restaurant. I gotta say, as long as its something halfway decent, open it up!! What a waste of a beautiful place to let people eat and look at the nicest part of the park. It is really neat to eat in a quiet, comfortable environment, but be able to see everything that is going on. You're distanced, but you have the views.

1997 website 2000 site NEW Son of Beast! Cool webcam shot:
-
Yep, my bad. I read it too quick, when it read "new for 2002". Didn't think that they were talking about the next year.
-
I can't believe it...when you click on "live web cam" (wish they'd bring that back!)....there is an image archived!
-
What do y'all think's gonna go into that there 'storage field'? Like they could top the Bavarian Beatle, anyway!!! This thing has floated around on the web for awhile. For some odd (and sometimes scary, to me) reason, I can look at it all day long. Imagine someone hacking into pki.com and having this come up when you click on "park map"...LOL
-
'72? Got it! Even have a "live web cam"!
-
It is the holidays and I have WAY too much free time. PKI's 2002 website
-
When the park is open, is there ever going to be any kind of shuttle from the hotel to the park? Just have to drive next door?
-
I wanted to post my idea for a "history" forum. I hope this has not been brought up before. If so, I apologize. I have posted several, and have more historical photos to post. We have the new guy (Mike?) that worked at KI years ago, and he has been sharing old stories, along with lots of other members that have as well. Instead of the stories and photos getting in the middle of all the other threads, I was wondering if there would be a possibility of a "Kings Island History" forum. I know a lot of people enjoy the sharing/remembering. Even the kids, I think, like seeing the old stuff. Maybe down the road it could even be divided into decades or eras (KECO, Paramount, CF, etc, etc.). Happy Holidays and thanks for all the work that makes this site possible!
