  1. I love to see all the different food stands at KI, but, as has been stated before, there are some almost never open. I wonder if it may come to "consolidating" a large portion of the food service to a just a couple main restaurants?
  2. The only time that FestHaus has ever "made sense" to me was this year at FearFest. It was freezing cold out, so it was a warm place to go, and the "Swiss Alps" atmosphere almost started to make sense to me. However, the food was a sad joke, because I had to take my meal back up to the counter as it was inedible. In the summertime, except to possibly escape heat exhaustion, I have no idea why anybody would step foot in there.
  3. I bought a '79 KI souvenir map off of eBay. I like the park we have now, don't get me wrong. BUT, I wish I could visit that '79 park. Just the small, quaint things all over the park. Stuff like that I guess used to bring in the crowds. I love the big rides, and I wouldn't want to switch places. I just wish we could have more of the small touches like I see in that '79 map.
  4. OH, thats right...I'm an idiot...congrats!
  5. You will change your mind after this comming June and for several years afte, I assure you that! Why is this? Is there some new change happening between the GWL entrance and (P)KI's entrance? Or, did I miss something...
  6. I like just the idea of a path around the TG area. A dedicated entrance would sway me to stay at GWL (although I guess I'll have to watch out for the buckets of water if I decide to walk through the water park )
  7. They sure didn't need any bad press, thats for sure. Its just enough to make people at least maybe think twice about going there. I know it does me.
  8. I'm all for it. I just want there to be an actual connection (like a special gate) for GWL guests to either walk or get shuttled into the park.
  9. I know I have read that GWL and (P)KI have no real affiliation. However, what do you think the deal is between them for a banner for GWL being the main image on PKI's website right now?
  10. Yeah, you can tell the natives are hungry when there's an 8 page thread about just the fact there is an announcement coming. This time of year, we'll snap up any old scrap thrown our way.
  11. True. For me, also, I was 6 in 1979. Makes me miss being a kid. By the way, being a golfer, that pic of Jack Nicklaus with the Eifel Tower in the background is one of the coolest photos I have ever seen. I want a poster!!
  12. That 1979 brochure is just amazing. What a place. So many neat things. Even down to The Beast photo place. All the landscaping, "International" eateries and stores.
  13. I would think that re-naming it would be a no-brainer. I would think they want to want to downplay this being a "moved" ride as much as possible, as well as make this an all-new "experience". Some FOF-level theming would be really sweet.
  14. If we do get X-flight, it won't be called "X-flight", will it? Won't they give it a different name/theme?
  15. What will they say about Kings Island? We're Not Paramount!
  16. ^We all know everybody would vote for that (that could remember it) Just trying to be optimistic about the upcoming season!
  17. There seems to be lots of changes in store for the park this upcoming season. So many rumors, new rides, possibly new restaurants, name change, logos, etc, etc.... Just how good (or bad) do you think its going to be?
  18. Sounds good to me
  19. Sweet. That would be a highlight for me.
  20. I am just stunned by the amount of detail. Its also makes it a bit tougher to be in Central Ohio in the middle of winter. One question...the Summit Plummet...the highest slide has to go somewhere, it looks like it launches you into oblivion. Does it actually go under the rocks?
  21. What roller coaster in your opinion had its best year ever? Adventure Express-the little engine that "could". Seemed like the lines for it were longer this year than I can remember before. Son of Beast: A "legend" has been born. The second coming of The Bat, but this time it gets to stay open. What thrill ride in your opinion had its best year ever ? Drop Zone-new paint, always long lines. What was the best thing that happened this year at Kings Island? It got a new, guest-attracting neighbor (GWL) It got a new owner (HOPING this is a good thing!) Was visited by the show 'Rob & Big': nationwide exposure What restaurant had the best food? Rivertown LaRosa's: anything would taste good there! Awesome setting. BGSS: Food was good, reasonable for what you got, great views. Ice Cream place in AZ: $3.50 for a Root Beer float is reasonable in an amusement park. Again, great setting. What crew/area was best? The girl that greeted me at The Beast was really nice. Parking people were especially nice. What show in 2006 was the best in your opinion? N/A What change from 2005 to 2006 was the best? Opening of GWL
  22. I think KI is like a good classic car. Its got plenty of horsepower, just needs a few odds and ends taken care of, and its gonna be a real stunner
  23. I vote for this idea!
  24. I always think that if there's an attraction at KI or another amusement park that I wouldn't partake in if it wasn't in an amusement park, then I definitely am not going to with it being in an amusement park at inflated amusement park prices. Almost any restaurant thats been around as long as Wings has been remodeled. I think a place like Wings being empty on busy days goes to show that even I'll-pay-$3.50-for-an-ice cream-cone-just-because-I'm-at-Kings Island people have their limits.
  25. Yes. Wings diner is bad. Really bad. I will have to agree that the buffet during FF was a step in the right direction. Seems a shame Wings has been allowed to stay open while they closed IR.
