  1. I’m surprised it stayed open as long as it did, being in a flood zone. I almost bought a house in Newport close to the levee and once I priced flood insurance, I backed out. Still a shame it’s gone.
  2. Yes! I hate relying on phones for everything-I especially hate my pass being on there as well
  3. I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but if I remember right, Cedar Fair was financially strapped after acquiring paramount parks. Maybe it will all shake out? Not that unusual when you think about it-any acquisition will look at their assets and dump the ones not profitable. In great americas case, that area is wall to wall people and just going to the store was a major deal. I think someone wants that land and taking any offer would be a profit. Plus the dumpster fire California is right now-it’s not profitable to run any business there
  4. A lot of things like this are par for the course-look at how everything is the past couple of years. UN inspiring. I still have no opinion of the merger, in “wait and see” mode. myself, I am skipping haunt-real life is scary enough!
  5. Honestly I was shocked great america is going away-used to live in Santa Clara years ago….
  6. Going off topic a little-I’ve been to the park twice this fall and I’ll have to say I’ve had good experiences both times. That being said, DB seemed shaky and I’m guessing it needs wheels. Orion-holy heck that was great! I’ve kinda changed a bit the last few years and just kinda appreciating good when I can find it. There are a couple I’m avoiding, but I’ve been impressed with the engagement of the staff. (Unpopular I know lol)
  7. Curious-you mean they didn’t unleash the pine sol dust?
  8. Ki is no different than any other corporation-they all maximize profits and not much can change that. Sad but true. I pick my battles these days and this one isnt worth it-I enjoy the good times and walk from the bad.
  9. I’ll have to agree. First time I’d been back in a few years. Went to the bathroom and was pretty shocked at the condition. I’ve been hearing depressing things about the park since the merger, but actually other than that I had a pretty good time. I did not encounter one jackass the whole day and the ride ops were extremely friendly with my grandson and us in general. I don’t usually contact guest services, but I probably will this time. I plan to give kudos as well
  10. The nickel and diming at the park is a lot of the reason I haven’t been to the park in many years
  11. I have questions. Kinda strange none of the reputable news outlets are reporting this death. Perhaps he’s still critical?
  12. Not a word on the news outlets which is very disappointing imo. This never ends well. Clearly the guests fault for entering a restricted area-however, prayers for the family. I just hope the park isn’t blamed and a bunch of do nothing rules aren’t imposed because of this. What he should have done is go to lost and found and arranged another way home. A set of keys is not worth your life
  13. Well, I’ve not been to the park in a few years. When fast pass started and required to have a decent day, it kinda turned me off. Closing rides is really really dangerous-I hope they’re prepared

I’ve not been on here in several years and wasn’t sure if this was mentioned anywhere on here. Got news that Karen passed away recently. I have not spoken to her in years, but just wanted a moment of silence to remember her. carry on
  15. Awesome. I worked in mason a week ago and the usual parts were flooded. Hope there’s no damage
  16. I wasn't sure if my last post made up, my phone fouled up. Personally, I'm sick of the whole darn thing. The masks are getting too hard to deal with for me. I'm a copd'er now and have to wear it at work, and I just can't do it much longer. Currently trying to decide what I'm going to do. I resent people shaming me for not wanting to wear it. Have an elephant sit on your chest while laying on your back, put a rope around your neck and tighten it, then put two masks over your mouth and cover your nostrils. That;s how it feels to breathe with this some days. Add a mask and its impossible. 3 months into my new job, and I have called off 3 times. You can see what's probably gonna happen with me. Yet I'm the selfish one for not wanting to wear it. I'm pretty done with the whole thing. See, I'm more worried about cancer. In my family, its 100% fatal; with covid at least you have a chance. I've lost my father, an uncle, an aunt and 2 cousins in the last 4 years from cancer. 4 people I know have passed due to covid, the most recent was a coworker. In a few hours, my sister is having a double mastectomy. I dont give a darn about covid right now. If anyone is wondering, yes I'm vaccinated-but not by choice. Since I took Moderna, I have no recourse if something happens later on
  17. I worked overnight in the park this year-have to say I have never seen anything suspicious
  18. I hope the new pay rate is a permanent change. I left the medical field this year-I can make just as much anywhere else with much less headache.
  19. Sad state of affairs when people have to be given a card to remind them how to behave in public
  20. Hate to say it-but it has outlived its usefulness.
  21. That's what's lacking today-accountability. I dunno. Limit the amount of people in the park?
  22. The whole world has lost their ever loving minds.....
