My (biased) opinion on the food: I wouldn't really call it "bad" or "slop", each time I have eaten in the park, I've been happy with the quality of the food. If you were to eat in the park, I would suggest the Backyard BBQ. I haven't had it yet this year, and the food choices are different this year, but I was happy with it last year.

If the parking attendants were telling guests that rides were closed, he'd be complaining that it wasn't on their website, and if it was on there, he would complain that they didn't call him personally to let him know...

Oh boy, this again? You want them to turn away paying customers because a small fraction of the parks rides are closed? Well, as long as they have a handstamp...

Did GR even have power? I don't really know anything about this, but if they didn't, maybe they *couldn't* give refunds if the computers were down?

Do you really think that they didn't say anything about the issues when people were buying tickets? I highly, highly doubt that they said nothing and just let people buy tickets.

AFAIK shops in Coney never closed. I know for a fact that mine didn't.

I wonder if the reason for it being off is the projector "flashing" the guests when something goes wrong with the smoke screen. (anyone who's ridden it with the projector on and smoke screen off would know what I mean) Maybe they are trying to figure out a way to automagically turn off the projector when the smoke stops?

It would be interesting to see the reaction of whoever opened the next day... I would probably pass out if I found someone in a back room.

I have heard that "King's Island Motor Speedway" was intentional, and not an error. I've also heard that the peeling wallpaper in BBoBH's queue was "theming". Take it for what it is...

Backlot seems to need quite a bit of work, too. It appears to be more "rusty" than FD, especially when viewed from the Eiffel Tower to Dodgems path. (or my memory is bad and it's perfectly fine. I'll look tomorrow)

That doesn't matter, because they are still visiting the park and spending money. What matters is how much money it will bring into the park in terms of ticket, food, games, and merchandise sales from people who are visiting the park because of it. Diamondback itself doesn't make money, what makes money is the people who visited KI last year specifically because we had a new coaster. If they're still visiting the park, it didn't matter if SoB is open or not. What matters is how many people aren't visiting the park because it's not open, or would go out of their way to visit the park if it were open.

But those MANY still make up a small percentage of the park's guests each day.

My stand doesn't wear plaid. BTW, the people who ask are the ones who care about the ride. The thousands who don't ask are the people who don't care.

They're probably asking because the park is basically pretending that it doesn't exist. And we can talk to guests about stuff too... and we don't have to wear dayglo yellow!

LOL, actually, I have worked in AZ quite a few times, and where I usually do work, we get questions about it more than you would think. Nice try, though.

As fun as it looks, I can't help but point out that it's ugly as sin, especially considering what it went in place of.

They should at least use the old white lights on the front. As we can see from how it's lit now, the back lights don't affect the front, I would assume that lighting up the front wouldn't take away from the lighting of the back. Or they could install the new lights all the way around... it does look strange, though.

Oh god. Wall Drug is hilarious. (Although, KI and Wall Drug DO share one thing in common... free ice water!) Here's the thought I think would go into SoB's fate: Q: Is it attracting new guests to the park? A: Probably not. I haven't heard anyone who isn't going just because it's closed, aside from empty threats on here. If it is attracting enthusiasts who want to ride it because it's tallest/fastest, they probably have a platinum pass anyway, and enthusiasts (as can be seen on here) don't like to buy food at the park. Q: Would a fix definitely work? A: It might, but is it worth the risk of it not working and wasting all that money? I doubt all the other times they fixed the ride weren't meant to permanently fix the ride... Q: Would a fix make the GP feel better about the ride? A: Likely not. SoB already has a horrid reputation with many people, and many of them might not trust the ride again.
