There was a promotion early in the season where they gave out very small buttons to guests... I'm *still* finding them occasionally. People have no respect for other people's things anymore...

Ed Harts Plan For Kentucky Kingdom
CedarPointer replied to a topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Kentucky Kingdom: it's gonna be fun. -
I wouldn't cry if Ocean Motion left. To put it lightly, it was not my favorite pirate ship ever.

IMO, the economy getting better in any way will probably be good for the parks. High gas prices and the economy improving could even balance each other out- not great for parks, but better than any drop in attendance that could happen. Hopefully their prediction is wrong, though. CedarPointer, wondering why every topic ends up being jolted off-topic by those who seemingly need to inform everyone that they feel the prices at the park are too high...

I've heard some good things from friends, I'll have to try a Street pretzel (which is quite different from a street pretzel!).
-
Having had both (haven't had Backyard BBQ yet this year, though, but I've heard good things about it), I would probably choose the Backyard BBQ, but Rivertown Junction is also really good. The food quality at Junction was good, definitely better than some buffets I've been to outside the park (Hometown Buffet, I'm lookin' at you). My only complaint was that the fries were old and didn't seem salted at all (not sure if they're supposed to be salted), but I mentioned it to someone and they brought fresh ones out without a problem. I think the only reason that I prefer the Backyard BBQ is because of the cost, but if you enjoy the type of food served at Junction, it would definitely be worth the extra cost.

I don't think the pretzels served elsewhere are microwaved...

Yeah, but that's following the part replacment in 2005, not in 2003.

I get asked questions all the time when I'm in plain clothes... different situation, but still! You must just look like you know what you're doing. ;-P

1:12 seems to be the high point of the cycle. I can't find a more recent video from a similar angle, but this one certainly seems to go higher than it does now.

Louisiana: Death at Dixie Landin'

Maybe they're replacing the temporary-looking pool with an in-ground one?
-
If SoB were replaced with another wooden coaster, the GP would continue to think that the new ride was ACTUALLY SoB, even if it obviously wasn't. That's what's happened with Psyclone/Terminator: Salvation at SFMM. I would bet nothing wooden will be built in that spot for a long, long time.

Don't worry Terpy, it's not available to Facebook users either, unless they're his friend. (or so it seems?)

They dry quickly IF the stamp isn't drenched with ink. That was a good thing with the old stamps, but is an issue with these ones...

Just a warning to everyone, this stuff seems to stain really badly. And it doesn't have time to dry if it's raining.

Louisiana: Death at Dixie Landin'

I bet they didn't close the empty restraint, causing a Flight Commander-type incident. Knowing that type of restraint, there's nothing keeping someone from sliding over if the empty seat isn't closed. -
Kings Island: A Perspective from Southeast TN

From what I've observed, they tend to look longer than they really are. Your mileage may vary, but I haven't had a bad experience yet... -
Kings Island: A Perspective from Southeast TN

Well, walk by any food stand during lunch or dinnertime and the lines are pretty long. For being so horrible and overpriced and terrible and awful, there sure are a lot of people waiting in line to buy food... -

The way that she ended it reminded me of one of those standardized test "Which sentence isn't on-topic?" type questions... -
I like that it's not as easy to wash off, but I don't like that it took 20min to dry and I don't like that it takes so much scrubbing to get off. What was wrong with the ink that CP uses?

A 32oz drink at KI is $4.25 including tax. At CP, it's somewhere around $4.50 before adding tax. And I sure saw a lot of people at CP with drinks in their hand... -
I just hate the feeling, and I wonder how hard it will be to get off clothes. It took almost 20min to dry when I got one today.
