I really enjoyed the fright lane pass I has last Friday. I do recomend it if you want to try and get everything in.

This to me sums up one of the main functions of this site. I have ridden a more variety of rides at KI since becoming a member of this site becauce the group of KIC'ers wanted to ride something I would nornally pass on. I then enjoy a bigger varity of rides (even if I am not a big fan of that ride) with my KIC family. This creates great memories in the park, I am then wanting to return for more. Glad you could hang out with us and enjoy your first haunt. I know I really enjoyed it.

In my experience it seems to get busier as you get closer to Halloween. I recommend going as early as you can!

Thanks Gabe! Yeah, you got the train in front of me on DB with Cory, fun evening!

And with the park also bought out Sept 24th till 7, you know what they say.. two outta three aint bad. I thought that was Meatloaf who said that?
-
You are correct. The main reason they didn't have Howl o Fest this weekend, is because they were never open during the day to the public. Saturday they opened at 7, and Sunday they did not open at all (to the public) I am not sure how far away jlopez lives from the park, but it is a good thing she did not make the trip.

While waiting for Hot Blooded to start someone noticed WS going up and said, "look at those fireworks going off by WS." They were confusing the light package for fireworks. I can see this mistake happening at first, but I am not sure if they ever realized they were just lights?

I thought it was closed for a private event, but I could be wrong?

As another Haunt season is about to start I am excited to go, but would be experiencing this evenings haunt without my wife. I realize this is the first time I would actually be experiencing the haunted attractions since we became pass holders in 2003. We love going to haunt, but the wife is not much for haunted houses, so we had only went through a few in past seasons. In the past several years CF has really changed haunt, and by seeing the amount of people in the park compared to my early days they are on the right track. Coming into the park and heading down International Street it was obvious that KI is stepping it up a notch for 2011. Here are a few IS pics. Things I noticed through out the park in the first hour being there was creative new props and better prop placement. I thought the amount of scareactors was very good. It was hard to not see one scaring someone, drawing attention for a picture, or skidding across the midway. They all seemed to really be into their characters! With so much movement going on, my phone did not take the best pictures, but I got this really a blurry picture that was really cool! I am not going to list all the hunt attractions, but will touch on my top five favorites. Carnevil - This was a great mix of props, great costumes for surprise scares, and a great sense of dizziness and confusion. This was my favorite! Urgent Scare - Had a great variety of props and scare actors. Very well done! Holiday Horror - This was the one I was looking forward to the most, it turned out to be nothing that I expected it to be, but was a very original well propped maze. This mazes' originality and story line is what really gave it high mark from me! I wish there were a few more hiding spots for more surprise scares. Slaughter House - I really loved the story line as you got started and how it progressed through the maze. Club Blood - This was a very good maze, not necessarily scary, but do feel the theme was done well. It seemed like a club you would see visitng in the Blade movies. There was a good mix of sensuality and blood, but maybe a little more of blood would help. I am not a fan of wrestling, but I took in a showing of Half Pint Brawlers. It was not my cup of tea, but these little guys do give new meaning to the phrase blood, sweat, and tears. This guy was our pre-show emcee and did a good job of keeping us entertained until the event started. Things are not going well for puppet. We stopped in a few shops after the show. I loved this shirt! A show that I had not seen before was Hot Blooded. I really enjoyed this show, great music variety from artists like Foreigner, Heart, and Journey. It was a very long show, I can not imagine how long it took to learn all the moves for this show. A pic I got early in the show. At Midnight, the 24th (which was my birthday) a few of us went and got a ride on DB and Beast. What a great way to bring in the first hour of your birthday! Using a Fright Lane Pass: Being a person who's not a big fan of the Fast Lane, I was a little reluctant to use my Fright Lane Pass. I quickly understood for those people making a one time trip, (especially if they had a big expense to get there) that those passes are worth the money. I have a new respect and appreciation for their use when purchased. There were a lot of KIC'ers there that we saw over the evening, and of course we talked in the parking lot for an hour after the park closed. I did not get to bed until 4:30 AM after the drive back to Indy, but it was a great evening that I will remember a long time! Thanks for a great fun evening KI.

I wear glasses and use the strap you can get in the vision center at walmart for like $3.00. Never had any issue and have wore them on ever coaster at Ki and CP this season. Hope this helps!

I think everyone there really enjoyed the day. I am sitting with Avatar is the last picture in his post above. I do plan on participating again next year and would be cool if we have a much more KIC'ers participating. Here is my PTR with a video I took. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24256&hl=&fromsearch=1

That is quite odd. I have a feeling it was not so much to do with the 2012 season. -
Kings Dominion's new site
IndyGuy4KI replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Seems to me that it must be a individual park decision on when to update their site. After we went to the CP design, they changes theirs. Others are still on the paramount design. Being as the parks have a lot of content and pretty big sites, this probably does not come cheap either. -
Kings Dominion's new site

They have a very sleek site, probably the best site of all the parks IMO. -
I just went to http://www.kingsdominion.com/ and noticed the site has been changed. I have not been on in several months. Has anyone else noticed it? When did this happen?

Comparison Between Soak City and Options B and C
IndyGuy4KI replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I recall standing in the parking lot discussing this with you months ago - although I say it is too cheap. I remember that conversation as well. The fun times you can have at KI, even standing in the parking lot! -

I don't know you personally GYK, but you don't strike me as the type of guy who you let others make decisions for you. Your saying you would rather take the word of people you don't know than go make up your own mind for yourself? I know of several posters here (despite IB's issues that need resolved) who prefer IB over KI. I prefer CB over Raven even though if I compare the park as a whole I choose HW. You won't know till you find out for yourself! I do hope you get the chance to visit before Morgan runs it into the ground. -
I don't usually visit the water park much, but I see this being a great asset for KI and will bring in new and returning guests. This will allow for a higher capacity of guests in the water park, and in turn help with queue lines on the dry side of the park. I am thinking in a few years we will see some new slides show up as well. From what I gather, the immediate need was more wave pool and lounging area. Very excited to see the changes!

Indiana Beach Protests

I am still not sure what to think. Being this was my child hood park and love that park for so many reasons, I have seen the decline in details myself since Morgan took over. When they bought it and repainted the water slides and other water park attractions, I had high hopes they would continue through the rest of the park over the next several seasons and really spruce the place up.They got a great start, but forgot to pick it back up. They may have the best safety record in the country, but when people do not see you taking care of the small things like keeping a rides loading station clean and rides looking run down, what do they do to keep you safe? In a small park like IB I don't expect a new ride all the time, but I do expect existing rides be clean and orderly, which I have not seen in the last few seasons. HW presents their rides to the best of their abilities. A scrambler is just a scrambler, but a nicely painted well presented scrambler makes it a ride guests want to ride instead of wondering if they are safe to ride it whether it is or not. How about you re-theme an existing ride or two per season? That is showing you are putting an effort into the park without having to spend a bunch of money. It takes me 1.5 hrs to get to IB, and 3 hrs to get to HW. As much as I love both parks, I am going to pick HW most of the time to patronize their clean rides and park and I prefer CB over Raven. -
Thanks for sharing! Those were some great shots of landscaping, showing how hard the grounds crew have worked at keeping KI very pretty this season. I also did not see any trash anywhere in those pictures! Kudos to KI!
