  1. We took a walk on the K.I. and Miami Valley Railroad track towards DB. WWC access by train storage. An empty WWC! The red light was actually lit! Train Station! DB is peaking beyond the trees! We are now in the Rivertown and looking at the splash down. Next Stop, The Beast! More to Come!
  2. On Saturday 12/10/11, the coaster club GOCC held their annual holiday party at KI. Several KIC'ers were present for the event.Don and his team did a great job with an awesome off-season tour. Kudo's to the food service team for an excellent dinner. This has been my first off-season event and KI and GOCC made it a most enjoyable day! I took a lot of pictures to share with KIC'ers that could not attend. EDIT: I just posted some key items from the speakers. Click here to read! We registered in human resources for the event and were waiting for the tour to start. We start making our way to the picnic area where a lot of coaster cars are in winter rehab. Got a pic of Invertigo on the way! Look over there, it is a green car off DB! Back lot cars are actually in the back lot! The poor FOF trains only get to see the outside world when it is cold! Vortex trains! Firehawk! I am pretty sure these are off FH, but not 100%. This is not how we are used to seeing the FD trains! AE! Woodstock Wirlybirds at ground level! Haunt Hearse More to come!
  3. My prayers and thoughts go out to all those affected by her loss!
  4. Kind of like the bank drive up shoot, but maybe a little bigger?
  5. I find it to be my place to go de-stress and forget about everyday life for a while. Like you said, some people have sports, TV, or fishing. We have KI! Here here!
  6. IB Facebook page reports http://cincinnati.com/blogs/tv/2011/11/29/rip-tom-walker-tishey-dj-and-voice-talent/
  7. Somone posted a PTR of several landscape pictures mid to late season and I thought that it looked great this year. I understand it may not look the same as you remember it as a kid, but the changes CF has made the last several years (Rivertown, CM, and PS) have been quite positive in the beautifying department. I am hoping to be just as impressed with SC this spring as well.
  8. We should have seen this coming due to the popularity of the Florida park. Hope it is successful in CA as well.
  9. Very cool segment, thanks for the post. I was getting that FUN was a good long term investment, but when it comes to stocks and shares I leave that to someone more educated about it than I.
  10. Good point, it has been closed for a private event the first Sunday it is open for several years now. I wonder how far back they have been doing that?
  11. Schedule has not been released as of today. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/visit/hours/index.cfm Totally guessing, but I am not sure how SC would not be open by it's scheduled opening.
  12. I really was excited about this line. "Many of you have asked when our 2012 operating calendar will be available. We should have it posted on our website soon."
  13. A lot more padding than you would expect! Ready for a ride on that thing! I am anxious to know with the size of that raft if there is any airtime?
  14. I agree that shorter names the better, but with Google and any other favorite search engines at your fingertips I am not so sure it is much as a big deal any more? Most of the time for me if I don't already know the URL Google is my stop and sometimes if I am already at Google, I might use it instead. I hardly ever bookmark a page any longer.
  15. Keep in mind that some people and companies buy URL names hoping that someone will want to buy it from them at a later date and give them a substantial amount for it. I know of one person who has made quite a bit of money doing this. Not sure if this is the case for kingsisland.com when KI lost the Paramount name? Maybe CF was not willing to pay the price for the URL?
  16. Nice video, thanks for sharing!
  17. Do we know if that is going to remain the same as Soak City?
  18. You reference this a lot - any chance you are ever going to share more details? A year or specific date would be a good start!
  19. On 11/12/11 Avatar and I were able to stop by KI to get a few pics of the Soak City construction for KIC. Here are some of the ones I took!
  20. Coasters mostly, but have to say all the above as well!
  21. We renewed that day after close since my plans to get there closing day didn't work out. I was sitting on the couch at home, I renewed my KI Platinum pass and the rest of the family's gold passes in about 10 minutes with no issues on the KI website.
  22. Are you talking on the PA system or do you have an alpha pager you do carry in the park?
  23. Some things that we would like to see get some off season love can be posted here. Lets be realistic in idea's though! We saw improvements on FD, FOF and BLSC mid season, so let's share some good ideas that could be easily implement this winter or early Spring. I would love to see more props be placed in the grass in the long queue leading back to FD. Even some retired engine or plane parts on a stand would be cool. They could even be models. GE is not to far away, who knows they might be willing to donate old or scrapped parts/engines for KI?
  24. I already got my passes for the family bought and paid for at the end of the season. Who already has their passes or plans on using the Buy now deal?
  25. I could not read the full article for I am not a member of bizjournal, but what I could read does not look like it was Hart's money that was spent, so why is he wanting it for himself?
