  1. He is obviously not a ride warrior!!
  2. I told my family that I expected DB to run fine for several days before the kinks would show start to show themselves and get worked out. Just part of the break-in. I think DB has had a great start thus far!
  3. I would have gotten the passes, but from the opening day line to get on DB, I think it was a good investment for the park. I know I would not have went opening day without it.
  4. Terpy, I said it was an alternative meaning for the view, not a substitute for the ride. Sorry if I communicated that wrong, but I love a wheel that is lit up nicely at night. It is not that I don't like them or not get them, but I probably think of KI (or any theme park) differently than most locals to a park. I have to drive 2 hours to get to KI one way. For me to spend the day at KI and come back home is 4 hours of driving (which I do a lot.) I want rides that thrill me and excite me, not something that I can ride at a carnival or county fair. I hope that makes sense?
  5. I agree you already have a good (Elevator Ride) alternative to accomplish the same thing. This makes a Ferris wheel with it's what, 400 guests per hour capacity taking up much needed real estate for a trilling ride.
  6. I also did not ask any of those questions. I was just wanting to make sure that I had everything correct and that I was all set to go. Hopefully the email will have further details!
  7. Holy cow what a day you had Kat!
  8. I just called park to validate that I am good to go for RWW. I asked if they were going to send out email confirmations and they said yes. No ETA on when that was going to happen, obviously before Friday? The lady acted like they had been getting lots of calls over RWW.
  9. I like the new dryers, I don’t wear my glasses in the park so I don’t know about that issue. You don't have to touch anything and your hands are dry when you are done. People just have to actually read the directions when you come up to it. There is even a picture. This is no different than when they put the auto flushers on the toilets and people were looking around for the flush handle, it just takes getting used to.
  10. Can't stand the new Potato wedges that have at Hardee's now. They are terrible! Bring back the Hash Rounds!
  11. ...or something like this? Man-that looks intense. I'd think I'd have to start out with a standard 4D before getting on one of those things! Looks like something that Laura Croft would be fighting. A good back to back ride would be to ride this and then head over to Tomb Ra... Opps! Wait a minute!
  12. I agree, a water coaster would be nice, but I am betting a new log flume will not be coming anytime soon. Especially since KI removed it's other log flume (for those that don't remember, it was where Crypt is at today.) Anybody remember its name? There might have been reasons that some on here know about why it was removed. I always liked that one, it was a long and fun ride! Has a park installed a 4 person log flume in recently?
  13. I don't think I will be coming. I found out yesterday that I have to work Saturday from 11 pm to 3 am. I don't need to be exhausted from KI and try to work those hours! Hopefully I can come on the next unofficial trip. Thanks for the invite Gator!!
  14. I am intrested to see what they have to say. Must not be bad if they are sending press releases about a meeting?
  15. The back seat, which I was able to acquire last time I rode, gave me a lot more air time than the third car. I felt I was out of my seat more there, but I am partial to the back car on any coaster.
  16. That would be nice, but since there are no speed lanes for Gold passes this year I am not going to hold my breath on that one! I say it will be gone!
  17. Well, we will play it by ear near the end of the week. Thanks!
  18. Yes, I plan on it! Beastie was my first woddie as well...
  19. Thanks Terpy! He is to cute for his own good sometimes!!
  20. Nice PTR! I love looking at these, I am just not much of a picture taking type of person myself.
  21. Maybe they are adding some shade tarps to the last part of the line queue?
  22. When do we need to have our shirt purchaced by to get it in time for RWW?
  23. I got gas in Shelbyville for $1.79. It was $1.92 by my house. Yeah, I was hoping the SRL would have worked out better, but I still got 2 rides in, and between the 2 rides saved maybe 10 minutes of time?
  24. This is my first PTR so bear with me... We brought our 3 year old son Korbin on 4/26/09 for his first KI trip of the season. I was very excited for he is now tall enough to ride Fairly Odd Coaster, his first wooden coaster. We left the west side of Indy at about 7:15. Stopped and grabbed some breakfast at Hardees. Can I say I don't like those potato "things" they have now. Bring back the hash rounds!!! Jumped on I-74, but stopped in Shelbyville to top off the tank for we only had 1/4 tank when we left. No, I did not plan ahead as far as gas was concerned. We got to the park right at 9:20. For those from Indy, this is awesome time, especially with 2 stops added. I was a little heavy footed, for I wanted to make it to some of the ERT. We headed to DB and I got in the single ride queue at about 9:55. Got on in a few minutes, but by the time I got back to the station it was past 10 and rest of the park guests were in queue. I thought my wife was going to take a turn, but she had already taken Korbin back to Nick U for some rides. I caught back up with them over at Fairly Odd Coaster and Korbin got in 3 rides within about 15 minutes! Here is the family pic on FOC. As you can tell, Korbin seems to love the ride. I think we have another enthusiast on our hands! Korbin rode most of the rides in Nick-U that he could fit on. He loves ridding Swiper's Sweeper. He also wanted to ride a Zebra, not a horse... Here is Korbin and I ridding a Zebra on Nick-O-Round! After several hours over in Nick-U we got hungry and went to the Festhause for lunch. My wife Kim took Korbin on Monster while I jumped on Red Racer. We all rode the Scrambler. We were trying to get Korbin to take a nap but that was not happening. We were getting hot, so we went to Wild Thornberrys to cool off. I told Kim to go ride DB while Korbin and I rode WTB's, but when she went over there they were out of the single ride passes and she did not wait. She then came over and got in line with us at WTB's and we all rode together. It took about 25 minutes to get through that line. Korbin was upset that his pants got wet, for I think he thought he had wet himself. He had to change his pants for him to calm down. We went back to DB and Kim told me to ride. I had to wait about 7 minutes before a ride op brought more passes down. I then waited another 20 minutes to get in the station for there were not many odd number of people in the regular queue. People that got in the regular queue at the same time as me got on the train before me, so sometimes the single rider line is not that much better? I got the very last seat, It was totally awesome. Me and the other guy in the back seat were discussing how wet we were going to get being in that seat. My shirt sleeve and the side of my face got wet, but that was it, a lot less than I expected. After I rode DB, Korbin was starting to doze off so we headed for the front gates. We left around 3:15. Hope you enjoyed my PTR!
