Universal To Close 'Jaws' Attraction
frisbeefan replied to beastfan11's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Universal Studios won't be the same without JAWS. Sadly when I went in February it was being refurbished and re-opened the day I was flying home. Oh well, I will have have memories from 1995 when I went on JAWS. -
Must be a sign they are tearing it down.

I wear mine without a strap, except when required, generally without issue. It's much more enjoyable when you can see what's around you (imagine that!)

Banned For Life From Great America

Good for Great America and Six Flags. It's good to see the park take action against guests who don't follow rules. -
Seven Dawrfs Mine Train at MK in 2013
frisbeefan replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The details Disney is putting in Fantasyland look pretty amazing. The trains on the Mine Ride look really interesting too. -
KI just announced season passes on sale for $69 starting tomorrow. There's your announcement. https://www.facebook...isitkingsisland

'Dragons' no longer dueling (for now)
frisbeefan replied to frisbeefan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Agreed. I'm sure it would be also be odd without the interaction between the two trains. -
Something I felt like mentioning about souvenir cups...

Carowinds New Ride?
frisbeefan replied to kingsrattler's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If they are getting WindSeeker (which by the looks of things they are) maybe they won't have as many issues since Carowinds will have 4 other installs to learn from. -
Canada's Wonderland 2012

This should be an interesting announcement whatever it is. It's always enjoyable to look at the teasers and clues that parks release. -
Thanks for sharing your trip. It sounds like you and your son had a memorable day!

Thanks for sharing your great trip!! The pictures are also wonderful, looks like everyone had a great time. Looking forward to reading and seeing the rest.

I arrived at the park around 6:30 and I thought it was really crowded for a weekday. I was suprised they weren't assigning seats. In fact, they still had a ride op as you entered the station, but he didn't hold any guests and the station was very full.
-
Just my 2 cents but when I went Sunday, I actually thought the assigned seating was ok. The station was much more pleasant to manuever through. I didn't really notice too much of a difference in the wait either.

Thanks for sharing. It looks like you went on a great day and glad you enjoyed the day! I agree that WindSeeker isn't very thrilling, but riders get a nice view of the park.

Are there pictures of Marty Moose there?

1) Yes, Columbia Road is correct. 2) Once you turn left on Columbia Road there should be a security guard stand and should be able to answer questions you have. I don't know for sure where the VIP parking is, but I believe it's on the left hand side past the employee parking. 3) On the right hand side near the end of Columbia Road there is a small human resources building and a gate that should say "Post 3" There is another employee entrance by Boomerang Bay, but this is not what you want. It's always helpful to call the park also at 513-754-5700 with any questions too. Good luck.

If this system is going to become a mainstay, it would be interesting if KI lowers the price on non-peak days like Tues-Thurs and in April, May and October . While I understand some people aren't fond of these programs, I think they offer a nice option for people who are visiting just once or twice a year and want to enjoy all the park has to offer without having to rush around. For me personally, the Express Pass, was great in Universal. Since I don't make it to Florida too often I wanted to make the most of the experience. I had plenty of time to enjoy what both parks had to offer and still have enough time to enjoy most every attraction with a 10 minute wait or less.

In February I was the only guest in the building and it was a pretty weird feeling. -
Universal / IoA Tips
frisbeefan replied to XGatorHead 8904's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I went in February this year and had a blast! I agree with Cobra on his suggestions especially with HRRR. Some of the rides I really enjoyed were:Shrek 4D, Mummy(which is a great attraction), MIB, and if you enjoy getting drenched Jurrasic Park and Popeye. Another one I remember as a kid was E.T. and enjoyed riding it this year as well. I really loved the detail throughout the parks, especially IOA and hope you have a great trip. Sorry I couldn't offer any planning tips since I went in the off-season. -
Longest/Worst walk-around?
frisbeefan replied to icedripper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If I recall correctly, there was a ramp which led you to the on-ride photo area then near the entrance. I don't think it was that bad, but again I might be incorrect. I too think Magnum and TTD are quite long, but there's nothing wrong with getting some aerobics in . -
