  1. I am not that big a fan of Mystery Mine. It is OK, but I would rather ride Thunderhead. We will be riding the other North American Euro Fighter on Saturday. SFoG is one of my favorite parks in their chain. I think this will be a good fit. I however felt that a Gerstlauer spinning coaster would have been a better fit.
  2. A trip to Holiday World is not complete with out a hug from Pat.
  3. This seems a bit weird. If they just got the $50k from Pepsi, how can they open the ride that quickly. I would love to go out there, but we have plans for this weekend. They don't show any dates that they are open past Labor Day weekend, so it may have to be next year.
  4. That is to bad that you didn't enjoy Disney. I will admit that Disney can be work to enjoy. You have to know how the park works and conform to the Disney way of doing things. When we went last year I had spent over 6 months researching our trip. I knew what to expect and how to flow with the park. For anyone that is planning on going to Disney, I would highly recommend spending some time on http://www.disboards.com/ As to worst park, I would have to say Camden Park, not that it was that bad, but all the others were better.
  5. While it is probably for the best as I want to fit on El Toro a bit better next month. The Cinnabon deal was one of the best deals in the park. Half off on a 4 or 6 packs made them cheaper then buying them at the mall. Many a night we would grab a pack for breakfast the next morning. Sadly this offer ends with the month of August. I don't understand why they limited it to just the 3 months and not the entire season. Oh well here is hoping that it makes a come back for 2011.
  6. Nope, they were there on Aug 21st. We were on our way to KD that night. We were there on Aug 14th.
  7. I see that at least SFA is now selling 2011 season passes. The price seems to have gone up $10 from last year but they have a 4 pack for $49.99 ea. With the 4 pack you also get free parking which they value at $50 instead of last years $45. The big change seems to be that this years parking pass will only be good at the park that it is processed at. This really sucks for those of us that travel to a lot of different parks through out the year.
  8. Just thought of this. Grab your phone and tell them, "since your line jumping let me get your photo for security"
  9. I would NOT recommend that hotel, it was disgusting. I'm not the only one here who feels this way as well. It was fine when we were there earlier this year. During the season it is a bit pricey for what it is. The HoJo's one exit south was a real bargain at $50 a night last weekend. Luff, we were there for the TPR bash too. Had a great time, even got a Zen ride on Volcano.
  10. While I am not excited for the ride, I will ride it when we go to KI opening weekend (hopefully they don't do a sell out of the park on the first Sunday like this year ). I was quite surprised that KI got a new attraction at all. So in that respect, I can't be disappointed either.
  11. I just rode my first Alpine coaster earlier this week, (Wisp resort in MD). Surprisingly they don't effect the scenery in the area much at all. The tracks are quite low to the ground and disappear in the trees to anyone not riding them. While they are not quite as wild as a traditional coaster they have their own thrills.
  12. It was not running on the Saturday night when we visited a few weeks ago.
  13. Glad you had a great time. We love SFGAdv and hope to make it back out there next month. With that forecast I don't think I would have purchased a GFP. I tend to set money aside for it and then judge the park when I get there.
  14. Holiday weekends can be busy, but the holiday itself is often not.
  15. Well if a Star Flyer is $2 mil, I would guess that a Wind Seeker would not be substantially more than that. This leaves a lot of budgeted CapEx for the other parks. Personally I would like them to spend wisely and work on righting the ship. Oh wait the ship ride is for sale.
  16. HW will run the coasters in the rain. You might bring an extra change of clothes for the ride home though.
  17. No need for change and always a line to get a slice.
  18. I think that the story was fair game. As to Pizza the best I have had was Santino's in Wildwood NJ next to Morey's Surfside Pier. While not in the park, it is only 30 feet away. It was also only $.92 a slice.
  19. Nope, never found a water fountain at Camden. Don't really remember looking for one. I did buy a Lg soda for $1.99 and 6 Pronto pups @ 1.89 ea. They would have been better if they had some ketchup available.
  20. I figure that these will eventually be purchased from whom ever is appointed to liquidate that park.
  21. I posted that 4 pages ago. Keep up old man.
  22. Terpy, your right, but isn't this one step closer to those assets becoming available?
  23. http://www.thecaroli...3&MemberID=1598 A good friend of mine has a business across the street from the park. He told me that a group of about 10 people were going though the park last week. I don't know if that has anything to do with this or if it was a last ditch effort to get investors. I would love to see some of these rides make their way to another park. As I have stated before, I fell that these would complement Holiday Worlds line up perfectly.
  24. I don't understand why Funtime Group would be suing Cedar Point. Did CP have a contract with Funtime, this quote says no. I always thought that the one that created the violation was liable not the consumer. Terpy, would you please share some wisdom here. Is this because Mondial is not voilating Funtime's US patent by building the ride in Holland?
