I run a season pass page....and have very specific conversations with multiple members....some I know pretty well and they have specifically stated "I don't have it in the budget to buy souvenirs or extra snacks at the park." You're correct people usually get paid every week or every other week but not everyone is able to drop extra money outside of what's budgeted.

Fully agree....I've even heard some folks say that as passholders they don't have the money to spend in the park because they only budgeted for the pass.

How do you know that the attendance at Kings Island wasn't as good as 2017? Based on personal observations, doesn't really give actual facts of attendance being on a decline or an incline. If we go on personal observations after a ride has been installed and attendance has declined, I'd venture to say Kings Dominion fits that category. I would guess Kings Island has never really hit a mark in the parks history quite like KD has.

I never realized they were there, but I love those little lamps! I'd dig it if they came back! I doubt it would happen, but wouldn't it be great if the 50 ft platform was opened to guests again?

Sure...but it's just a general job listing...ride operators could have to walk up to a certain height like listed....and I doubt many of the ride hosts at CP would work at heights of 420'...seems like a maintenance kind of requirement...of which they'd use an elevator. Looking at a mechanic- ride maintenance position requirements it says that they would need to be able to work at 300 feet above ground. https://jobs.cedarfair.com/job-detail/9164985/mechanic-ride-maintenance-cincinnati-oh/#tab-id-2 I would like to see this listing where it says 380 feet, because a basic search on the job portal does not produce a listing where it says that the person would be required to work at 380 feet.

I'm pretty sure that's just a standard job listing throughout corporate, since Corporate does the listings not Kings Island.

The thing is B&M doesn't make Flat Rides.....so.....there likely will be a B&M Coaster....the likelihood is high that it'll be a Giga. The rumors of the past have been fan made, without logical evidence...we already see evidence that it could be a Giga, based on information throughout this thread.

Yes....I get opinions on rides...but not every person has the same opinions on rides and no one should fault another person for liking a ride that they may not.

They could also be painting buildings on I-Street or a building for the antique autos.

The ride has really taken shape!! The track work is completed. Now to wait for testing as well as other construction to do list items. With Yukon Striker, they are supposed to be theming the land it's around including their Vortex....has anyone heard anything about the retheming of Vortex? I know the trains got a new look, but haven't heard of a new name or colors of the track.

Going back to the "chances of a Giga" being the 2020 project...last year at Coaster Stock, Mike Koontz, GM, during a Q&A said that he recommended to the Cedar Fair board that the park should install a Giga Coaster, adding that to the Notice of Commencement I'd say our chances of a Giga coming to KI would be in the 90%-99% range.

I doubt that they'd have to file a permit for things such as anti-rollbacks....Mystic Timbers had them added after the lagoon going toward the shed....I don't recall seeing a notice of commencement being filed for that. Info on why a notice of commencement needs to be filed is here: Ohio Revised Code One of the companies contracted in the notice of commencement is Brehob Engine & Compressor Co....which I would guess would be for a compressor which coasters have...but could also just be for the antique autos.

While I never rode the rapids ride, I completely agree with you. I hate seeing rides removed, especially the ones that can really help out folks (I mean cooling them down) without a replacement.

The thing is, with Cedar Point so close, I doubt we see a B&M wing or a dive coaster anytime soon. They are still niche rides for Cedar Point....we could get a B&M Flyer, but find it doubtful...when was the last time a US park installed one?

So thinking a little more about the subtraction of the rapids ride off of the map....if it is to be removed (likely already in the process)....I'm wondering if Hurler will end up being RMC'd with a more spread out layout than that of Twister Timbers.....hmmm.
