  1. Coasting For Kids, benefiting Give Kids The World, is returning in 2019! This year, there will not be any Cedar Fair parks, there are a few Six Flags parks taking park and several smaller parks, such as Quassy, Kennywood and Indiana Beach. If I remember correctly in the past participants had to pay a registration fee on top of raising funds....this year, there is not a registration fee for riders, but participants have to raise a minimum of $100 to be eligible to participate. There is not a standard day for the fundraising event....the earliest is happening in March and as of right now the latest is happening in September. The one thing I see in regards to cohesiveness of the event is that the released schedule shows that the "event" really is happening before the park opens to the public on it's day. The schedules show "exclusive access" to a specific coaster or coasters. Once the park opens for the day the schedules show "all access to _____." I currently am looking at participating at Kennywood, to enjoy Steel Curtain as part of the schedule for the event! To find out more visit: http://support.gktw.org/site/PageNavigator/c4k_parks.html
  2. Interesting development. So is this basically Chef Major and Chef Nate's new boss? I'm wondering if there are any additional changes to the food and beverage department this year.
  3. Multipurpose space.....where employees can hang out together while not on shift, basketball courts, recreational activities, etc.
  4. There is a possibility, but being this far out, there hasn't been any indication.
  5. Hi @Laura the biggest sales are usually in October-December. There may be another small sale leading up to the park opening, but that isn't guaranteed. I would personally purchase now before prices increase.
  6. You can always tell a member of this site, but you cannot tell them much.
  7. They did answer directly. Deer. Deer are found in the woods behind the former Firehawk site. What’s in the woods? Deer are in the woods.
  8. I've had more issues with those stupid seat belts this year than I ever have. When sometimes the seat belts are long enough for me to be able to get them locked and sometimes the ride ops are putting all their force/pressure on the lap bar trying to get the seat belt to lock. They could get rid of the seat belts or change their method for them and I'd be happy.
  9. That's probably one of the best concepts I've seen, as far as layout, entrance area, etc. I'm not sold on the name, the Outpost 5 and use of Beast. #LeaveSOBDead Not sold on the yellow either. I want a green coaster!
  10. Here's the show at Canada's Wonderland....while it's not all that "thrilling" it was entertaining! Edit: I'm interested to see what Eiffel Tower end of I-Street will look like. We know that the stage is going to be extended some how. I assume it'll be a little bit wider and it'll come out into the street more. With Winterfest this past year, I really noticed how far out they had the risers/extenders. I could see them making that permanent. I do hope that they do end up adding more tables/chairs/umbrellas. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I would like to see some of the shop areas be turned into International Cuisine store fronts. Move Build-A-Bear somewhere else (I'd have to really think about where), move the shop with the random pop culture merch (the name escapes me) out and put a quick serve restaurant there. I know that they recently redid the inside of Skyline...and it may be franchised, but would love to see it move off of I-Street and a more International shop be placed there. I know at one point, the park had considered the path all the way up to Boo Blasters as part of International Street....could we see an update with Boo Blasters? For example of when this path was considered see the 2009 Map: http://cpfoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/2009-Kings-Island-Map-Inside.pdf
  11. @sixohdieselrage Yes!!!!! I'm so looking forward to that surprise of walking into the park and checking it all out. I feel I'll be spending plenty of time in I-Street this year! I'm hoping for a show similar to "Snoopy's Symphony of Water" that I saw at Canada's Wonderland. https://www.canadaswonderland.com/play/shows/snoopys-symphony-of-water While it was short-ish, simple and only happened early in the day, it was entertaining and relaxing!
  12. I would love to see that picture of where the flag poles were. @CoastersRZ can you share it?
  13. @sixohdieselrage my statement was more of a generic statement. I've seen your photos and understand where you are coming from. I could have worded the portion a bit better about being over the park. Below is just a general statement, not calling anyone out specifically. I'm having more of a "fit" about the I-street photos that the park hasn't released. Someone definitely released a photo before the park did of I-Street. However, they obtained it...why is it okay for someone to release information about the updates to I-Street before the park does or a contractor with permission does? When the local media often sources KICentral about news/speculation about the park, doesn't it seem like we're doing the parks work that they have already planned to do at a later time by posting things unreleased? What's the point of the park even having a PR/Marketing Department if random enthusiasts spread the information/pictures out before they are able to do it? Why do we as enthusiasts feel that we have the right to know things from the park before it's released to the public?
  14. What is the point of getting these photos? To be the first one to "break the news?" To know before anyone else does? To me those would be pathetic reasons. I can understand if you fly over the park on a commercial flight, you can't control that route. But to physically place yourself over the park on your own accord is just insane. It's all about respect, as Oldschool75 said: "It’s called courtesy and respecting the park’s privacy as they prepare for the new season." Why do people want to get this information out there before the park even announces it? Why don't they let the park do their job and announce it when it's appropriate? We had a user on KIC a few years ago, trespass into the park to get a good look at construction....guess what that user is gone now...that person also damage the reputation of KIC with the park. I can bet that users of KIC who attempt to do anything that would 1) be trespassing 2) leak information about the park before the park is ready to announce something will damage the relationship KIC has with the park and could lead to further issues.
  15. I would love for Chick-Fil-A to actually have a separate pickup area for orders so after you order you don't have to fight your way through other guests to a window to get your food.
  16. With I-Street being re-done, I'm wondering if we'll see any additional food offerings, more "international?" Maybe we'll see some of the buildings that were inspired by certain countries/cultures be updated/more prominent?
  17. I recently looked at a video of this at Knotts from last year...looks kind of cool. Part of it was inside and part outside. Wonder if that'll happen at KI too.
  18. I'm gonna go with this isn't a hint for several reasons: 1) SOB is a dark point in history with KI...why would they bring it back? 2) Since when has Cedar Fair teased rides for a park at a different park and why would they? Each park has a different makeup of guests and not all attract the same guests. 3) Knowing the person who made the posters originally from KI and works for CF did this just for theming. Remember the Steel Vengance easter egg in Mystic's Station...created by the same person...it wasn't a hint for a new attraction...it was literally just theming. 4) Not everything you see is a hint.
  19. I believe that Giga will actually go under the park and under/through Lake Erie.
  20. Canada's Wonderland has announced their DA is leaving:
