  1. It says tax on admission and rides. Does that mean it will cost 10 cents to ride Diamondback?
  2. Kings Island's photo trivia question today: http://twitpic.com/c1p5v0 The answer: Backlot Stunt Coaster Hint? Diversion? Or just trivia?
  3. Maybe to get a better view of the location of a future attraction?
  4. Why do fanboys demand respect? They are just another type of customer among the many that the park brings in. Respect customers in general, not specific clusters of customers.
  5. They said the same thing about 300+ foot coasters, but we have Leviathan. B&M seems to be adapting to fit the competition...
  6. Well Terp, I read the whole thread from beginning to where you bumped like you requested. Now I am more confused than ever. My best guess is that they are doing something under our nose and trying to surprise guests. There will be something waiting for us. SOB and other off-season activity has been a diversion, and something, be it big or small, is happening. I can't guess exactly what it is, but I think there is something happening. Of course I have been wrong before.
  7. I love the little compass directional thing on top of the building. I imagine that was fun while up on the Eiffel Tower
  8. Excalibur was one of my favorite rides when I was little (living a half hour away)! Good to see TB paying homage to the old stomping grounds!
  9. It was, but it's gone now. And there is a difference between a highly congested path and a wall of wood. To me, Adventure Express is one of those rides that is in a whole other scene than the rest of the park, and if a path went right past it, I feel like it would ruin the ambiance of the ride.
  10. I don't know how I feel about it. Maybe it's just me, but isn't that cutting it a little close to Adventure Express?
  11. I was at CP and had a meeting with Mr. Ouimet about a potential job in their offices, and I left my résumé at home and he laughed at me. Worst. Dream. Ever.
  12. Personally, I like the haul back to Flight Deck. It creates a sort of ambiance and separation from the rest of the park. With SOB finally gone, I think it will be even more. It gives it character.
  13. Fair enough I can't wait to see what they have in store!
  14. I know you are still kind of new here, but if there is nothing to back up your information, such as a source or link, I wouldn't go around saying things like that. People can get real salty on here if you provide false or inaccurate information. Just trying to be helpful.
  15. As my economics professor here at OSU would say: "Welcome to capitalism." Like it or not, this industry is a competitive market. Not everyone will be happy all the time, and the strong will weed out the weak one way or another. It might be suspicious or deceitful, but it's how the system works. Not everyone is happy or successful, and there are always toes to step on. I agree that it could have been handled differently, but it happened how it did.
  16. I'm ready for the season so the madness on these forums due to the off-season goes away.
  17. I just think it's comical that the top 4 threads in "Rumors" are all about rides being demolished. I guess SOB really has everyone paranoid...
  18. "Six Flags got approved to do over a 200-foot rollercoaster. As soon as that was approved, Cedar Point bought it and killed the park to kill the competition for Cedar Point," Watson said. "They don't care about the residents. The proof is over there. The structures are gone." Umm... Cedar Point bought the park? And is this guy correct about the 200 ft. coaster? I don't recall that, but I have missed things before. Either way, I laughed.
  19. I like that Matt said how Luminosity was going to be produced "in house" this year. Hopefully that encourages the performers to really make the show their own, and that they get some say in how things shake out. I know a performer is much more excited to go do a show if they like the material, so I would imagine that it could only get better from there!
  20. I went to HW for the first time this year, and I can't think of a time I was disappointed with the food. You can't really go wrong with any of them, but I liked the Kringle Kafe a lot. They have a pretty good variety there...
  21. I'm not saying an entire drenching; I don't think that is what flumes are for. If you want to get soaked, go to Soak City. But a high-tech upgrade that is both fun to ride and look at would be fun, in my opinion. Or you could restore it to the original glory that many of us (including me) on these forums never got to experience. Either way, the ride has a lot of potential, and it seems rather bland as it stands today.
  22. They could do that... I was thinking more along the lines of a total overhaul, with a more modern and high-tech feel that still fit into the Rivertown concept. (fountains, waterfalls, pretty much a not boring Shoot the Rapids (not the original) at CP)
