Do you know anything about (or where we can read about) these past hostile takeovers the Q has been involved in Terpy?
-
This is the first time I've heard anyone suggest that Apollo may raise their offer. It would seem, in my opinion, that they would have little incentive to do so. CF needs a sale/merger more than Apollo needs to add them to their portfolio. Am I wrong in assuming that if Apollo strongly desired to acquire CF that it may be cheaper for them to do so when/if they declared bankruptcy? It should fun to watch FUN today.
-
Because (if my math is right...and thats never a given lol) at the current unit price that would cost about $442,860,000...not exactly chump change. Not to mention they would have to find 36.3 (ish) million units that people were willing to sell.
-
What percentage of the units would they have to own in order to make/force a change in management? Would the fact that CF is set up as an LP make this sort of action easier or more difficult then if the campany were set up as a corporation?
-
So how does Q Funding expect to make money on this investment? Are they opperating under the assumtion that Apollo will up its offer? Surely they don't believe that this is a strong long term investment do they?
-
They have also posted their top 10 steel coasters as well, with Diamondback coming in at #7.

FUN is off again this morning, trading as low as $12.23 before rebounding slightly. If the stock is trading below the $11.50 mark when the vote occurs does anyone think that would change Q's view on the sale/merger?

So am I correct to assume that this new ride will be similar to Soarin at EPCOT? -
Holiday World to get new ride in 2010?

That looks incredible! I can't wait to ride this summer, hopefully the capacity isn't terrible. -
FUN is down about $0.30 from this morning. Over a million units have changed hands already today and it looks like there was a fairly significant sell off around 12:15 this afternoon.
-
Over 1.3 million units of FUN changed hands today. It will be interesting to see how many more, if any, Q Investments purchased.
-
I would have to agree with everything you said. It seems as though, especially with the largest stock holder openly opposing the deal, it will be difficult for CF to get this deal approved.
-
The "go shop" period where CF can solicate/listen to offers from companies besides Apollo ends at 11:59pm tonight. If I am not mistaken, Apollo could up there offer at anytime before the sale goes to a vote.
-
I would think that if no new deal is annouced, or if Apollo does not up its offer, the stock will begin to fall again, possibly drastically if the sale is voted down. Bottom line is that this a company that cannot afford to pay its debts if the status quo holds.
-
So what's Q's hope here? Force Apollo to up they're offer so they can turn a quick profit? It seems like quite a risk to me. We haven't seen any signs that that will happen yet have we?

Another busy day for FUN. Looks like there was lots of movement (in terms of volume) between 3:30-4:00 again.

If Reptar is getting a Woodstock theme that makes it unlikely that the Fairly Odd Coaster becomes Woodstock themed right? Is a return to The Beastie on the horizon? I hope so!

Always cool to see the behind the scenes work! These pics make me want to ride though!

Congo Falls. It started in 1996 when me and my brothers all rode in the front seat and thought we were so cool because of it. It has kinda become a tradition each year since then.
-
I waited just over 3 hours for Flight of Fear its opening year. I wouldn't wait more then 2 hours for anything I had already ridden before.

Looks like you had an awesome trip! Can't wait to see the rest of the TR! -
One of the comments after the Register story on the compensation the execs would receive talked about an Apollo IPO. Does anyone know any more about that?
-
As far as the rides themselves go, could a ride like Beast or Diamondback theoretically run all winter? I am assuming that there would almost certainly be increased maitainence costs but would it be possible without damaging the ride?

Kings Island's web site hasn't really given the impression as being the management's first priority...I wouldn't rely on any information that's on it as evidence of anything as important as the possible removal of a major ride. Oh I certainly agree that the website certainly does not seem to be near the top of CF's priority list. I was merely pointing out that its still listed there, as little as it may be worth.
