I got my first ever 1-1 ride on Flight Deck on opening day and it was without question my best ride ever on that ride. I'll have to try 5-1 on Vortex here soon. In regards to Racer I really find it much more fun when the trains are racing and I would absolutely be willing to wait an extra minute or two in order to experience that.

Flight of Fear is my personal favorite.

Holiday World is such a great park, you will have a blast! The 3 coasters are all musts and I have always enjoyed the Liberty Launch and Gobbler Getaway as well. The flats collection isn't overly impressive but that is more then made up for by the coasters and Splashin' Safari (the water park). If you are spending some time in Splashin' Safari then Zoombabwe, Zinga, Bakuli, and I am assuming Wildebeest are all must rides. It is an incredibly clean park with a very very professional and polite staff. Also, food prices at Holiday World are fairly reasonable and don't forget that the drinks are included with your ticket into the park! I hope you have a great time!

^^I certainly am not implying that anyone has lied during the 5@5 and certainly they have proved to be very open with a lot of the answers. That being said I think when it comes to ride removals or new attractions, IF we were to get any answers that were a little less then the complete truth it would be in regards to these two topics. ^My opinion of FD coming to the end of its life has more to do with my percecption of the park's attitude towards the ride then it's popularity. BBW was still a fairly popular ride when it was removed. FD looks like its ready to be removed IMO. The general public may not notice that Vortex needs a repaint for example, but the entire length of the line for FD you walk by a ride that is visibly rusting. It just looks like the park is ready to let it live out the 2-3 years it has left until a major overhaul is needed and then they will decide to remove it. I love FD so I really do hope that it does have "many years to come."

It certainly seems to heading towards the end of its lifetime and at least from a casual observer's (mine) viewpoint the park seems to have come to that conclusion too. I'd say it could be gone by as early as 2012.

That is great news! I hope they can accomplish this rise in quality without a significant rise in the number of nickles it takes to purchase said fresh made pizza...

I think the trains just happen to be more of a 'last straw' for a lot of people that have known and loved KI as a THEME park. It's become a lot tougher under CF to continue to use that description. KI is rapidly becoming an amusement park and I think that that plays a large role (at least for me) in the outrage over the blsc trains.

^I totally agree. The detail on those trains added a lot to the ride for me, esp as the special effects slowly but steadily disappeared over the years.

I think they were well aware that WE (KICers, ACEers, etc) would notice and I'm sure they knew it wouldn't go over well in the enthusiast community. I think they were counting (hoping?) on the average person not noticing/caring though.

Wow! Sounds like a great day! Five rides in a row on Flight Deck would be awesome! (I have noticed FD seems faster to me this year then it has in years past.) With a chance for rain in the forcast again on Saturday are you planning to go for a 26 rides in one day?!

^Ah yes, forgot about that. I wonder what the difference was in season pass vs. one time admissions, particularly for KI & CP?

Yeah that would be really interesting to see exact figures industry wide, not just for Cedar Fair.

Interesting that KI topped CP in total visitors. I also noticed that Splashin' Safari didn't make the list of top U.S. water parks. With Splashin' Safari being such a big part of Holiday World's appeal it seems odd that less than a third of their 1,000,000+ visitors (the number that would've been needed to make the list) didn't go to Splashin' Safari.

It was just my first impression, like I said I couldn't see them very well. After seeing them on my computer, you are right, you can't really tell.

I can't see the pics very well (looking at them on my phone) but it doesn't look like B&M (and therefore Chang) track to me. Please correct me if I am wrong tho.

^I think that a time table like that is def not out of the question for SoB. CF seems content to let the ride be SBNO when it has been cleared to run this year, so, IMO, there isnt any reason to think that CF & KI won't be content with the same decision for all or part of next season. Personally idt that SoB will be 'hybridized' simply bc, again this is strictly my opinion, whatever 'fix' is found for the ride needs to have a fairly reasonable chance at being a sucess. It would seem a risky bet to say that hybridizing the ride would yield the results they are looking for even if the Texas Giant rehab is deemed a sucess. I would think that CF/KI would be looking at more proven methods (redesign, retracking, etc.) for getting SoB up an running again, if getting it running again is their plan at all.

I got 870 when I rode during ERT. I have to say I was very impressed with the ride too! It looked awesome!

That's exactly what I kept thinking, it really would have been a nice morning if not for that wind! Beast - 1 Flight of Fear - 1 Flight Deck - 1 Boo Blasters - 1 My gf had to be back in Indy by 3 so we didn't get to stay too long but it was great to be back!
