  1. The spotlights are on for FoF.
  2. ^I tried to quell The Vortex rumor and give what info there is about SOB.
  3. Maybe if we get REALLY lucky we can find a way to get the organ on the carousel fixed too!
  4. Looks like the ride ops at White Water Canyon are in for a long day (or then again, perhaps a very short one)!
  5. Nice PTR! Those pics of Kumba are awesome!
  6. From the above article: "Cedar Fair also said it had adopted a shareholder-rights plan that would be triggered if an investor acquires more than 20 percent of the company." Can someone explain what this means and the significance of it please?
  7. Some typos here and there (Drop Tower is now 35 feet tall apparently) but overall the site looks awesome!
  8. Holiday World is an incredible park with lots to offer. You won't find a cleaner park or nicer staff anywhere. The theme park side does not have a huge selection of rides but all three wooden coasters, Raven, Legend, and Voyage are all incredible (Voyage is my overall #1). Head to Voyage first thing as the line can grow pretty quickly. Gobbler Getaway and Patriot Launch are my favorite flat rides in the park. Splashin' Safari is a great waterpark with a huge slide selection. Zoombabwe and Zinga are great waterslides, though the lines for both can get quite long in the afternoon. I am sure Wildebeest will be a great ride too. Pilgram's Plunge is a neat ride but I usually only ride it once per visit. The one thing to note is that many of the lines for the slides involve going up A LOT of stairs. I hope you find a chance to get down there this season, its a great park!
  9. ^I think he was referring to the drop of the first hill which is 211' on Intimidator while Nitro and Diamondback have first drops of 215' (according to rcdb.com).
  10. From a coaster standpoint I would say that Diamondback, Racer, & Beast are must rides, Flight of Fear, Vortex, & Firehawk are should rides. Personally, I love Flight Deck too but since you are not a fan of Iron Dragon you may not enjoy it as much. IMO there really isn't a bad coaster ride (at least on the ones running this year) to be had at KI. Yes, you to appreciate rides like Adventure Express and Backlot (which is one of my favs) for what they are but I have never had a painful ride on any of them. Personally I have found that the back row on Vortex and the front row on Beast offer two of the best rides in the park.
  11. Here is a transcript of the call that was posted to Theme Park Review *Sorry guys I got my websites mixed up! It was posted in a topic at Theme Park Review, not Screamscape.
  12. ^ That is one area I think the park has covered very well actually. Woodstock Express is a fantastic first coaster for little ones and Flight Deck, Adventure Express, and to some extent, even Backlot and Racer are great rides for families. I think some new flats in Coney Mall would be awesome and I really like the idea of a complete circle from X-Base to the dead end of Coney Mall that was mentioned earlier.
  13. I like it better with lights off. Seeing the old King Cobra cars and other stuff they have stored in there takes away from the experience in my opinion.
  14. For me it was my first ride on FoF the year it opened. It was my first launched coaster and my first coaster with inversions. The whole experience was just incredible.
  15. There was a rumor on Screamscape in Feb about a new B&M Stand Up for Ocean Park in Hong Kong for 2011. Very conveniently located just 7,966 miles from my house!
  16. My first ever trip to Cedar Point Timberliners on Voyage and my first ride on Wildebeest Hopefully putting some faces with KIC names
  17. Ok I was just curious. thanks for the info.
  18. How do these numbers compare to CF's capex has been the past few years? Is $84.4 (projected for 2010) million significantly less then what has been spent the past few years? 2010 is this year...all is said and done...Terpy is looking further down the road... I realized that shortly after I posted lol. Still the projections (according to the proxy) going forward are as follows: 2011: $82.5 million 2012: $86.1 million 2013: $79.2 million So all fall into a range similar to this year. I was just wondering how this compares.

  20. After trading below $11.00 briefly today, FUN actually closed up five cents at $11.27. Looks like our friends at Q may have went on a bit of a buying spree this afternoon.
  21. Being a fan of the Apollo deal myself (though admittedly my knowledge of the deal is limited and I am not a unit holder) I hope that will be the case, though I doubt it. I believe Terpy's theory that Q has an agenda that goes farther then simply blocking the sale. The lower the price the more units Q can get for their money.
  22. Seems as though people are heeding this advice. FUN is trading under $11.00.
  23. I also thought that Terpy probably wouldn't repeat how familiar the terrain is without having a reason for it. Doesn't necessarily mean that it's KI's terrain he is referring too but this is afterall a KI faniste... Though that being said, from the pics posted, it does seem to resemble the BBW site more to me. I hope I am wrong though!
  24. That is great news! Thank you to everyone who went out against this tax!
