Looks incredible! Can't wait to see the rest! -
"Orlando Thrill Park" Being Considered
thekidd33 replied to thekidd33's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
From the above article: "They are just giant tinker toys to us." It's like he was messing around on RCT and just decided 'what the hell let's actually build this one'. Crazy. I wish them the best but I am still skeptical of this working out in the long run. -
^Agreed. The first time I rode it I didn't use the fast pass option and went there first thing in the morning. I'm actually glad that I had about a 20 minute wait, that whole experience was very very cool.
-
^Hahaha the comments are almost as fun as seeing the pictures aren't they?
-
As Terpy and others will tell you, just ride in 5-1. Makes for quite a smooth ride!

Perhaps AZ is next in this 'rehab rotation' that has developed.

Indianapolis Zoo to receive new attraction
thekidd33 replied to DropZone99's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Lol prolly right. I meant the exhibit itself though. We don't currently have an orangutan exhibit. -
Most would. And the fact that posters like Terpy, Shaggy, and RZ are willing to answer the same 'silly' questions and deal with the same misinformation dozens of times is what makes them so valuable to these boards. Everyone is a novice once. There was a time when Terpy knew nothing about coasters, Monroe about planes, etc. Everyone here (presumably) has some interest in KI. It's only through positive, polite conversation that that interest grows into a true love for our park and our hobby. Many of us will never know and third of what a few others do and frankly that's why I visit. To learn. So maybe one day I can be one of the 5 instead of one of the 50. *Fixed to give RZ his due credit

I'm 99% sure that they have been moved to King's Dominion to be used for parts for Shockwave.

SPEED SNAKE at Fort Fun Germany
thekidd33 replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Think of the revenue that could be made consulting with other parks, ride manufacturers, etc. on their attractions new names! "Fast Metal Thing" "Bumpy Wooden People Mover" "200 Foot Paper Weight" "Flight Deck" "Vortex" "Upside down" The possibilities are endless! -
Indianapolis Zoo to receive new attraction
thekidd33 replied to DropZone99's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I am curious as to where in the zoo this is going. It seems like something will have to be removed in order to make way for a project like this. Sounds like it should be pretty cool when it is finished though. -

Its good to see that Cedar Fair's innovative ride naming process is being picked up worldwide though! -
Major kudos to KI for this one! I agree that the Nighthawk color scheme would look really awesome on FD.

"Orlando Thrill Park" Being Considered

Another article about the park can be found here. Baker states that no rides from Freestyle Music Park would be moved to the proposed Orlando Park. -
Kinzel: Much Ado About Nothing, Says He

Hahaha I figured, bet that would have thrown the guys (and gals) at SEC off just a tad though. -

^Nice of them to include emoticons in their SEC filings. So much for Mr. Kinzel being out of touch! -
Kinzel: Much Ado About Nothing, Says He
thekidd33 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
is there any information about how big the parachute for Mr. Kinzel would be? Could someone have perhaps seen the need for large sum of money on hand when the company cut their 2011 cap ex by $15 million? -
"Orlando Thrill Park" Being Considered
thekidd33 replied to thekidd33's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Another article about the park as well as a few photos of concept art can be found here. The plans for the park boast 15 coasters and an initial investment of $249 million. The group has plans to present the concept to the Orlando city council next week. -
I voted for fixing SoB, simply because I haven't had the 'pleasure' of riding it. I would love to see raceR return, but as has been stated here before, even if KI wanted to bring it back, presently they could not.
-
There is certainly a vibration coming out of the hammerhead on DB. As for Vortex, just as Terpy says, 5-1 solves all. After I tried it early this past season, I haven't ridden in any other seat. Fun first drop, great hangtime in the corkscrews, and much much smoother than anywhere else.

Michigan's Adventure: Beach Party 2011
thekidd33 replied to thekidd33's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I visited in late July on a rainy day and both the parking attendant and the lady in admissions made comments about how busy it had been this year. Good to hear that they are doing well it really is a nice little park. I believe CF stated during one of their recent conference calls that Carowinds also broke their seasonal attendance record this year. -
Michigan's Adventure: Beach Party 2011
thekidd33 replied to thekidd33's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
That hasn't happened since 1995. 1996: Mantis & Wild Thing 1997: Steel Force 1998: GhostRider & Mamba 1999: Woodstock Express (CP) & Mad Mouse (VF) 2000: Millennium Force, Woodstock Express & Wild Mouse (DP), Boomerang 2001: Talon 2002: Wicked Twister & Xcelerator 2003: Top Thrill Dragster & Steel Venom 2004: Silver Bullet & Spinning Dragons 2005: Hydra 2006: Patriot 2007: Renegade, Maverick, Firehawk 2008: Possessed, Dominator, Thunderhawk, Pony Express 2009: Diamondback, Carolina Cobra, Prowler 2010: Intimidator, Intimidator 305 2011: ???? I'm sure I missed a few in there too, but the point stands that this looks to be the end of a long run. Might not be overly surprising since the company stated it tried to cancel the Intimidator projects last year. -

Beach Party coming to WildWater Adventure in 2011. http://www.miadventure.com/beachparty.shtml http://touch.facebook.com/?w2m#/profile.php?id=140264646757&v=feed Not exactly what I'm sure most where hoping for but it will be a nice family addition to a really good water park.
