I personally think so. I mean just look at El Toro; imagine how bad that would have turned out if it would have been built by the RCCA.

Giga, Giga, Giga! EDIT: I'm sorry. I didn't realize that was my 600th post. I should've said something in it that actually had a little bit of substantial insight... What I want the new coaster/ride to be: Intamin Giga, 315 feet tall, 95 mph What I think the new coaster/ride will be(in descending order): B&M Giga, Wing, Invert, Floorless

I bet there's going to be a big race of the current "lurkers" once this new ride is announced to see who gets it's name as their username first so that there is no random numbers, hyphens, or underscores in it. Oh, wait a minute, there already is a user with the screen name "Banshee" who registered years before any of these rumors started. SPOOOOKY...

If this isn't a new roller coaster there is no way I'm renewing my season pass. Now dont go starting crazy talk. I'm serious. Why would they clear out all that land just for a "small non-rollercoaster ride"(no offense to Timbo). Not to sound like a troll but that would be really disappointing...

I agree I would be highly disappointed in the Cedar Fair Company if they mainly focused on JUST family. I mean what are the thrill seekers supposed to do? Build our own? Cedar Point is supposed to be An amazing park with cutting edge coasters , not family coaster that go up 20 feet high and drop 6 feet at 11 MPH. They already have a kiddie area in the Cedar Fair parks why just not keep it the way it's going? Ughhh... I'm so confused It may be that families spend more money in the park than the enthusiast niche who wants the biggest fastest etc. Plus in the park, I think Racer as a family ride. Fun, air time, not too fast. Nostalgic. So family fun doesnt have to be boring. Heck look at Universal. Spiderman/Men In Black/Simpsons. All family fun rides that all want to ride. I would even say the Harry Potter ride, but not sure if its a bit on the thrilling side... see above post. Is The Racer a boring ride? Maybe to you if its not a thrill ride its boring, but many many people enjoy rides that they can ride not with just the daredevil in the family but with all members. Sort of like putting Firehawk smack dab at the in the middle of what could have been a park expansion? or when Paramount replaced a nice relaxing green space family ride with a big ugly junkyard coaster? As I get older, I find myself looking for rides that are fun and can be rode multiple times. TTD can't be ridden multiple times? Well, I guess for some people it can't but I could ride it all day and not get bored.

All I'm saying is that Kings Island should continue to focus on building high thrill rides. I didn't say Kings Island already wasn't. Well, maybe I did. I don't know. Nevermind. I'll stop talking. Case closed. Let's move on. There's no sense in starting a long drawn out argument. Sorry. It was my fault. I'll stop.

I know. What I'm saying is that since Kings Island already has enough kids and intermediate thrill rides, it should be focused on high thrill rides.

I'm sorry but I really hate it when CEO's feel like they have to make their parks more "family-focused" than it already is. You know why? Because "family-focused" usually results not in something "the whole family can enjoy", but something only little kids will enjoy because it has to stoop to the lowest thrill denominator. Now I know, "family-focused" can mean a lot of things, such as the making the park more affordable, but I just think that Kings Island already has enough family and kids rides (hence, best Kid's Area in the World) so if Mr. O is smart (not implying that he isn't) he would fully turn his attention to building more thrill rides at Kings Island. Besides, isn't the thrill-seeker part of the family to?

God I hope it's not an invert.

Fast Lane "Plus" Comes to some of the Cedar Fair Parks
BeastForever replied to CoasterGeek101's topic in Kings Island
I think this is stupid what they're doing. FL already costs a lot as it is and I bet they're going to get a lot of grief from the GP about confusion of which Fast Lane pass can get you on what ride. -
I was so wish it was August already so I can find know what the new coaster/ride is but at the same time I don't because that would mean summer is almost over!
-
Neither of those look very re-rideable when it comes to the nausea factor.

Guess who's gonna be sleeping with the lights on tonight...this guy.

That was the picture that spooked me out the most. I didn't fall asleep until like 2AM that night because I was so afraid of closing my eyes thinking the next time I open them that thing would be floating in my bedroom. But don't worry, I'm over it now.

You know lately I have been researching Banshees because I wasn't exactly sure what a Banshee was and now that I've come to realize what it is, they are actually VERY SPOOKY. Now I know why they never ended up naming Mantis "Banshee"... EDIT: It's actually Google images that has freaked me out the most when it comes to looking up Banshees.

Kennywood Q's Is Phantom's Revenge similar to Magnum in terms of roughness? Does Phantom have comfortable restraints? What's so great about Kennywood's wooden coasters? Is that Noah's Ark thing supposed to be just for kids or can it be directed toward all ages? How long are lines usually for Phantom and Sky Rocket? Is there really a "Kenny the Rodent/Bunny/Rabbit" mascot that walks around the park? Because for some reason just by looking at his hypnotizing photo on their park map I have gained this really weird feeling/mysterious destiny that I just HAVE to meet him. Do they have good food? Do any rides require a rental locker if you have an item you can't take on to the station/ride because there are no numbered bins? Comparison Q's Which park is generally more crowded on a regular basis? Which is more expensive in terms of food, ticket, and souvenir prices? Dollywood Q's Is Thunderhead significantly rough? How good is Tennessee Tornado? Mystery Mine? Wild Eagle? Do they have good food? Is their waterpark worth going to? Do any rides require a rental locker if you have an item you can't take on to the station/ride because there are no numbered bins?

Alright well I have to go somewhere now but when I get back I'll post a ton of questions about each parks that I need someone to answer...

Now see, I was kind of leaning towards Kennywood in the first place. Phantom's Revenge looks awesome and I just need to know if its all its cracked up to be. Also, is the "Sky Rocket" a good coaster as well?

I would LOVE to visit Great Adventure again, but its too far away. Well, there weren't many to begin with. I'm only considering parks within a 5-6 hr radius of Cincinnati. I already went to CP this summer, so that leaves SF Great America, SF St. Louis, and Waldameer.
-
So my mom is gonna to be taking me and a few of my friends to an amusment park this summer and I've narrowed down my choices to either Kennywood or Dollywood. From there, I just CAN NOT decide which one to pick, so I need some advice from someone who has been to both parks. Now I acknowledge that both parks have a fair amount of Golden Ticket Awards in various categories however, putting aside all of that, I need to know one thing: Which park is the best when it comes to pure thrills? Let me just put this as simple as I can... As long as a park has good rides, I really don't care how good their food is, how amazing their shows are, or even how friendly there staff is. I live to ride and ride to live!

Is that a typo by the Interpreter?

I know this is completely and utterly off-topic, but how do you pronounce "Ouimet"? I've wondered this for years.
