  1. 3 visits during haunt + 5 visits during regular season = 8 visits total!
  2. Large coasters and thrill rides definitely have to be the biggest things I look for in amusement parks, along with efficient staff.
  3. Whatever! I don't know how much money it cost to build that one section of the ride 12 years ago. It's just a random guesstimation.
  4. Watching the final section of SOB come down was like watching millions of dollars crumbling like paper mache.
  5. TR:TR, I wish I would've rode it at least once but I never did!
  6. The Tower Party has just released their intimidating campaign poster...
  7. Probably The Racer, particularly the Red train.
  8. The Beast- GOW (Grand Old Wood)
  9. Cavern of Terror was good but everything else was mediocre at best.
  10. I guessed Gatekeeper because it's closer to the shore.
  11. Smelling a wooden patio deck usually reminds me of The Beast.
  12. Who says a new ride for 2014 would be unlikely? I think it would be very likely.
  13. It would have been hilarious if they would have disconnected the rose bowl from the upwards hill prior to the rose bowl and ran just one more train down the first drop and watch it fly off the track into the sky to eventually fall back down into a vat of molten lava. There the train will BURN! And the entire structure too, engulfed in the largest conglagration anyone has ever seen. Then, from the ashes of Son of Beast, a phoenix will rise!
  14. You know, with all these large crowds we've witnessed from this year's Haunt so far and expectations of extreme crowds to come, its made me wonder. Is there a maximum limit to how many guests are allowed in the park at one time? I would think that too much overcrowding could eventually cause a serious saftey concern...
  15. My favorite Halloween candy is definitely Airheads, while my least favorite Halloween candy has to be the notorious "Mary Janes". I mean seriously, how could you possibly call that 'candy'? It's terrible! Bleh...
  16. Speaking of Mack Rides...... Oh my gosh! That's probably the best 3D rendering I've ever seen! Why, it's so realistic that at first I couldn't tell whether it was animated or actually real!
  17. Man, I sure wish TR:TR was still there. I only got to ride it after the apocalyptic transformation of the ride I know as the Crypt.
  18. Just to clarify, I'm in no way trying to bash Adventure Express. I think it's a great coaster too.
  19. IMO Magnum being ranked eighth I think is very generous. I personally wouldn't even put it in the top 25. To me it's nothing more than a really tall, really fast, REALLY PAINFUL Adventure Express.
  20. It boggles my mind that Magnum is supposed to be better than Diamondback, Maverick, and Top Thrill Dragster. And Raven #8, What?
  21. To echo the Interpreter, Idlewild is a fantastic amusement park almost entirely for kids. Also consider: is Planet Snoopy really better than The Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland? Universal's Islands of Adventure's Seuss Landing? Paultons' Peppa Pig World? LEGOLAND Parks? Maybe it is... But don't allow yourself to accept the Amusement Today "awards" without looking at how those awards are distributed and why? I've often asked how Cedar Point fails to place in best food, cleanest park, best entertainment, friendliest employees, best dark ride, best water ride, or best landscaping, but somehow manages to snag best amusement park. Maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't the "best amusement park in the world" place first in all of those categories, or at least one? Also, what's so darn great about Knoebel's Amusement Resort that makes it the 2nd best world? I've never been there but to me it justs looks like a small, humble amusent park with a couple of rides. I don't get it, can someone please tell me! I'm curious.
  22. Intamins will always be better than B&Ms in my opinion. Hands down.
  23. Heck no. Corkscrew is quite possibly the worst roller coaster I have ever ridden. Seriously. Either that or Sidewinder at Hersheypark...
  24. That would be even longer than the path from Splashin' Safari to Pilgrim's Plunge at Holiday World!
