If they are indeed only inspecting the rides on a weekly basis the answer is simple. No, the park isn't worth visiting.
-
Fine, it should take 2 or 3 years to rebuild at least. Especially when judging by the amount of time it is taking for T3.
-
IF the ride is indeed being redone, the company doing the work does. Have to remember that RMC did the rehab work on Thunder Run. Wouldn't surprise me if they looked at TT and will do the work IF it happens.

The twin tracks of Twisted Colossus were done in about 9 months.

I LOVE The Muppets. Look, a reason for me to buy a Disney Pass.

Very excited for the SeaWorld announcement. -
T3......Iconic?

Sorry but that is basically how I felt about the entire park and I lived less than an hour away. I rode Thunder Run when it was new and don't remember enjoying it.

This wasn't a Holiday Weekend and as far as I know they will be open next weekend.
-
Not sure. However, I made this response to their May 30th answer.
-
Not to mention a few non working effects hardly necessitates a full on refurbishing.

This person was saying that Kings Island/Holiday World allows all Pass Holders to attend private events. Once they were shown evidence to the contrary their response was 'Bite Me" and other childish responses. Others were hoping for rain so the events would be ruined.

That's a tough one. As long as the school isn't requiring bringing a lot of stuff, I would leave it I do not blame you for not wanting to leave things on the bus. They are easily accessible to anyone.

As long as Fabricator's exist, spare parts will exist as well. The real issues involve costs. A one off item is rarely ever cheap. I'm sure the park knows what they are getting into.

Thankful that I am not going to have to deal with it this year. The constant "don't vote for THEM" while not telling me why I should vote for YOU, irks me.

I'm assuming another, hey lets wait until the season starts before taking a down a ride for a major overhaul, like we had with SRR. To be fair I remember seeing this ride having portions of it blocked off at various times the last couple seasons. Most likely suffered another break down of some sort and the park decided it should just be redone. Tending to the multiple other rides in time for a complete season so they can focus on one major job with less distraction makes sense.

I was in KY last weekend and the signs are already starting to clog everyone's yards and every available street corner. I foresee this year as being a contentious one.

Ark Encounter Contract Signed
Dieseltech20 replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Wow, that first sentence gave me a headache so I lost interest, lol. If this passes the upcoming republican Governor will surely see that the same thing is passed in KY. That way they can close down the Democrat inspired mess that is Kentucky Kingdom and start up their own taxpayer funded park. If this park is so important why don't they just get Osteen or some other super rich charl--------I mean preacher to fund them? -
The best priced Locker at KI is the trunk of ones car.

Dinosaur World, lol. I still remember the day my wife took our kids and some of their friends there. I'll just say they were NOT impressed at all. They all really enjoyed DA.
-
Unlike here, the talk on the FB page can get nasty at times. Some folks are VERY upset the park is closed for private events and very uninformed. They think that being a Pass Holder entitles them to park access anytime the park is open..........like Pass Holders at Kings Island and Holiday World. Fine Print..........read it...................always.....even if it is more obvious than fine.

Changes to 2015 dining plans (Update: not happening)
Dieseltech20 replied to malem's topic in Kings Island
Actually, I wasn't thinking about my local parks when typing that. I remember using free lockers with keys at Holiday World.. -
This morning, via Facebook, the park said that T3 will be open to the public on May 30th. They have been reminding folks all week that the park will NOT be open to the General Public this weekend. There are tens of people upset they cannot visit their favorite park.

Pay for a locker? I thought they had them available for free in the queue areas? Oh wait, wrong park.
