Actually, railroader19's name and avatar no longer link anywhere, and if I use the search function to try to bring up his profile, I get this error: Sorry, you don't have permission for that! This member is no longer active. See here. What happened?

I voted water. Right now, I would say that my favorite ride of all time is Wildebeest at HW because of the rides I got on it at Holiwood Nights this year. With temperatures in the 60s, there was practically no line for it, and they weren't even bothering to combine groups to fill each boat. As a result, I got several solo rides on it and found that if you sit in the second seat from the front, you get tons of awesome airtime. They actually will not allow a single rider to ride in the front seat, and given the airtime I got in seat 2, I can see why. If you're ever at HW on a day in the 60s and have your swimsuit with you, brave the cold and go ride Wildebeest by yourself in the second seat. I guarantee you will not regret it. As one person put it on the HWN Facebook group: Hypothermia is temporary, memories are forever.

Actually, I would say that the answer to the question that has been posed would be "none of the above". The real answer would likely be either Xtreme Skyflyer or Slingshot, probably Slingshot as it can only do two riders at once compared to Skyflyer's six at a time (three on each side).

Drop Tower being down on the 4th could have something to do with weather. It cannot operate in high winds, and even if there is no wind at the ground, the wind at the top of the tower can be rather strong. Ask the ride op sitting at the entrance; they'll usually be willing to say whether they're down for "mechanical issues" or a specific weather problem.

Kings Dominion Tips
jcgoble3 replied to dudecoasterman's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Fast pass has really helped me when riding The Beast but I've never got a Fast Pass at Kings Dominion. Fast Lane, not Fast Pass. The latter is found only at Disney and bears little, if any, resemblance to Fast Lane. -
...or earned through FUN Perks. jcgoble3, who may be redeeming another 20oz drink wristband tomorrow if he can ever decide between that and the one-ride front-of-line pass

No date yet. This year, we got the date only about three months in advance.
-
Great report so far! Thanks for posting it!

Accuweather is forecasting a high of 100° tomorrow with the possibility for a thunderstorm. Thursday is not much better with a high of 99° and a chance for a thunderstorm again. I'm going on Thursday and hoping it's not too crowded.

Then either A) I've just been visiting on days that it wasn't working, or they were late turning him on for the season (and I'll note that A could potentially cause . I haven't been there since June 21, about two weeks ago.

EDIT: Never mind, misread the post I was replying to.

I have not seen said beagle turned on yet this year, and I've ridden it at least twice and walked by it many more times. Perhaps they finally decided to shut him off?

^ Like I just said, I just searched Disney's online dining reservation system. The California Grill is fully booked for all seven days that I will be there.
-
It's covered by the dining plan, so the price would not an issue, but I just checked the reservation system online, and it's already fully booked for the dates of my trip. I'm getting a lot of suggestions and will start looking into reservations later this week. Which brings me to my next question: given the off-peak dates that I am going, do I really need reservations more than a couple days in advance or at all for regular table-service restaurants (i.e. not classified as signature or character dining)? I don't want to have too much of my vacation planned in detail before I leave.
-
^Thanks for the suggestions! I'm staying at the All-Star Sports Resort, which is about all I could afford.
-
^And with your keys, they can get into your car, where they could then access your cell phone, money, and debit card.
-
Then I'll make sure to book that one.

36" with an adult http://www.visitking...ht-requirements That page looks a little screwy to me. For one, there is most definitely NOT a minimum height to ride KI&MVRR with an adult. Secondly, note how the Scrambler is the only one where the requirement to ride with an adult is labeled "36–48 inches", thereby setting a hard minimum. All others in that section have that label as "less than X inches" with no low end. I think the "36 inches" header should read "36 inches or less". I've asked about the Monster's height requirement on KI's Facebook page.
-
I believe Monster actually has no minimum height requirement at all to ride with a responsible person, just a minimum height to ride alone.
-
^Ah, thanks. I've seen Cinderella's Royal Table on the lists of dining locations, but didn't make the connection.
-
^You're a ride at Kings Island? Sorry, just couldn't resist.

I hope to be able to try Disneyland in the future, but the choice of Disney World was made for me, as the whole vacation is tied to a convention in Orlando. I will look into tourguidemike.com. As to your other thoughts: - I'm traveling solo, so young kids are not an issue. - I'm more of a go-go-go person on vacation who believes that if you're not absolutely exhausted at the end of each day, you didn't have enough fun. - I'm not sure a character meal would be worth it for me (again, flying solo). I definitely intend to try several new things. I went with the Deluxe so I would have more freedom to do signature dining restaurants while still having enough meals to cover the rest of the trip. As for "a lot of food", I tend to have a big appetite. What do you mean by "inside the castle"? I'm a complete rookie when it comes to Disney World, so I don't know what you mean.

Holiday World Closes Pilgrims Plunge
jcgoble3 replied to HWBeast1039's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I believe only on the 4th of July, but I could be wrong, so don't quote me on that.
