  1. Ditch the PIN system and get wristband lockers like Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom. Problem solved.
  2. ^ See the OP: In other words, this is more about comparing individual aspects of each park where there is something to compare to, rather than comparing the totality of everything each park has to offer.
  3. Great meeting up with everyone! I think I got the worst of the WWC night ride. My clothes were still wet when I got home around 2:00 AM. I had to hang them up to dry in the bathroom. I requested a move with the "report" button.
  4. Did I just see you use a nickname invented by Mr. YoungStud? Is this the apocalypse? ohiocolts's use of that name has warmed me up to it.
  5. ^ Why are we discussing that in three separate threads? I think the mods need to pick one thread to leave open and lock the others. Splitting the discussion like that makes it difficult to follow.
  6. I'm assuming that it runs by itself after closing. I might be there Saturday night.
  7. ^ (Which reminds me that I need to renew my Xenia High School all-sports season pass. )
  8. ^ Are those the prices for Beach Mountain or Perfect North? I can't find those prices on the Beach Mountain website.
  9. Diamondstack used to be second, but it's fallen out of that position.
  10. The ONLY way you'll ever get a legitimate picture of me with that eyesore is if I'm busy doing something else when the picture is taken. Like drinking tea.
  11. How did Maverick get that nickname for you?
  12. I believe the OP is referring to practices at some other chains where guests with a line-skipping pass enter through the exit with restricted seat choice. At SeaWorld Orlando, for example, on Kraken, Quick Queue enters through the exit and must take the row set aside for that purpose (or choose one of two rows). On Gwazi at BGT, Quick Queue riders enter through the exit and can choose any row, except that they cannot choose the front row or back row.
  13. Depends on the coaster, but in general Fast Lane is not treated differently than the regular queue in terms of seat choice as the FL queue merges with the regular queue on the loading side. Only at a few small flats does FL enter through the exit. Some coasters will sometimes assign seats, others will always let you choose your own. Note that Banshee, whether you have FL or not, will not let you wait for the front if the line for that seat is too long.
  14. Not talking about either of you.
  15. The ones that sound fishy to me all come from the same user, which is not you. jcgoble3, not saying anything else
  16. Because Imageshack, which is hosting those images, is down per this.
  17. Truth is stranger than fiction because fiction has to make sense. That said, some of these do sound fishy.
  18. Those people should be smacked too. The lack of spanking these days is why so many kids are a*****es. Or as a graphic that goes around Facebook occasionally puts it: "I was spanked as a kid. As a result I now suffer from a psychological condition known as 'Respect for Others'."
  19. Since Terpy bumped this and I'm bored, I'll answer the poll. "SMALL" WOODEN COASTER (Woodies under 90ft) The Racer vs. The Raven - Raven has far better airtime and is not nearly as rough. Just wish it was a little longer. MILLENNIUM WOODIES (Both opened in 2000, both have "dips" before first drop!) Son of Beast vs. The Legend - Never had the chance to ride SOB, so Legend wins by default. Not a fan of extreme laterals, though, so Legend is number three for me at HW. SIGNATURE WOODIES (This one is obvious...) The Beast vs. The Voyage - Blows The Beast out of the water, including at night. Being thrown around from side to side and up and down will always beat straight-line speed, especially when the former occurs at a higher speed. DROP/LAUNCH RIDE Drop Tower vs. Liberty Launch - Taller, which is what it's all about here. Plus I prefer dropping to being launched anyway. RAPIDS RIDE White Water Canyon vs. Raging Rapids - Draw. WWC is designed to get you drenched, and it is very good at that. RR is designed to get you just a little wet, and it is very good at that. Which one I would prefer depends on how wet I would want to get. So I can't really compare them. LOG FLUME Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown vs. Frightful Falls Log Flume - Gives you a pretty good splash even if you're riding solo, unlike RFYLCB. Also has the big splash right at the base of the hill, instead of after flattening out for a couple seconds, which for some reason I like better. SWING RIDE Zephyr vs. Hallowswings - Tie. They're the same model; not enough different about them to make distinctions. SPIDER/MONSTER/ETC RIDE Monster vs. PR Midnight Ride - Never rode the latter, and it's long gone now. SCRAMBLER BATTLE KI Scrambler vs. Scarecrow Scrambler - Because it was manually operated as recently as a couple of years ago IIRC. Plus it's one of the fastest Scramblers I've ridden. CAROUSEL BATTLE Grand Carousel vs. Star Spangled Carousel - Because the Queen of Kings Island sounds awesome (and because I don't think I've ridden the one at HW). TRAIN BATTLE KI & Miami Valley Railroad vs. The Freedom Train - Bigger train, longer track. Plus the Freedom Train is gone and replaced with the Holidog Express (but KI&MVRR still wins). SHOOT-EM-UP DARK RIDES Boo Blasters vs. Gobbler Getaway - Working guns/turkey callers/whatever. Need I say more? DODEMS Dodgems vs. Rough Riders - A little faster, allowing harder hits. KIDDIE COASTERS Great Pumpkin Coaster vs. The Howler - Because adults can ride it without a kid. STAFF (Overall Performance, includes friendliness and efficency) KI Staff vs. HW Staff - I could go on for days about this. PARK "LOOKS" (Which one looks better? As in scenery, theming, cleanliness, etc etc.) Kings Island vs. Holiday World - Same as above. VALUE (Get-in-price, food prices, etc etc...) Kings Island vs. Holiday World - Free stuff! (Yes, I know I'm paying for it with the cost of admission, but even daily admission is cheaper than KI.) OVERALL Tally up all the points and declare winner. Counting ties as one-half point to each park, Kings Island 5, Holiday World 11.
  20. In line for WindSeeker, looks to be about a 2 to 3 cycle wait. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
  21. I renewed my Beach season pass for 2015 this morning. At that time, I was told that a 2015 pass includes discounted admission to Beach Mountain this winter, but they don't know how much of a discount yet. So I'd say that they are still working out some of the details. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
