Non-riders shouldn't be in the line. Maybe I should add that to the Pet Peeves thread.. So if a pregnant mom visits the park with her thrill-seeking 6-year-old son, the kiddo shouldn't be allowed to ride anything? A kid that age is too young to wait in line by himself, but Mom can't ride anything. There is nothing wrong with Mom standing in line with him even if she can't ride. So there are good reasons why non-riders need to be permitted in line.

Well, let's stay positive and hope for the best! I'm sending prayers your way.

With tonight's cancellation, I figured they would add next Saturday (8/2) to compensate, but 8/9 is a surprise since that's a 10pm close, not a midnight close. Interesting.

"Cirque Imagine" at Kings Island!
jcgoble3 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I finally got another chance to see this all the way through again at the 7:00 show yesterday. I love the Hand2Hand act. Very cool and well-executed. I sat in the front row in the right-hand section (stage left) and got a bike tire in the face from Trevor. I love how the show is changing over the course of the season, making you want to see it again and again. KI definitely has a winner on their hands here. -
The cameras on Banshee have their own thread here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29903-Banshee-on-ride-cameras/

I hope so....

The HoliShop (as it was called) was a casualty of the website redesign last year. To the best of my knowledge, they still have plans to get it back up, but it hasn't happened yet, and it's been almost a year now. Interpret that however you want.

Last thoughts (for now, at least) on my KK visit: Interesting to see KK encouraging people to fill personal bottles at the water fountains, even providing special dispensers to make it easier, instead of pushing the sale of bottled water. The display at the top right keeps a count of how many bottles have been filled there. Good way to be environmentally friendly. Plummet Summit? On a water slide? I wonder if Disney knows about this. Something about "potential for confusion" or something like that....

Sounds like everything's going as great as possible! Here's hoping you can make it back before the end of the season. If you don't mind me asking, is there any specific length of time following surgery after which they can reasonably assume that the mass won't come back?

Gotcha. I should get to Kennywood one of these days.

Which I presume is not the same type of ride as Firehawk?

The bridge was not confusing in itself. The confusing part was trying to get from the gate to the bridge.

Adding to my earlier summary post (which, incidentally, I typed on my phone while sitting in the Kings Island Theater waiting for Cirque Imagine to start), whoever designed the park map should have their mind forcibly wiped of all knowledge about Kentucky Kingdom and then be required to find every ride entrance using nothing but the park map so that they can understand the horror that they have unleashed. It took me 10 minutes to figure out how to get to Thunder Run, and it was only that short because I gave up and asked an employee for directions. Also, FearFALL is right next to the midway, but the entry or exit gate you would expect to find opening into the midway is not there. Instead both entrance and exit are at the back of the ride, which is only accessible by walking about 100 to 150 feet down the midway to the right, going around and behind a couple of food stands, and walking 150 feet back to the entrance. As far as I saw, there was no signage whatsoever pointing guests in that direction. Both of these are just one example of their respective problems. In short, both the park map and the layout of the park itself are confusing as ****. They could be easily resolved by hiring a different person to design the map and adding a copious amount of directional signage (of which there was almost none), respectively.

I'm guessing because it's going to be down for a long time, possibly the rest of the season, and thus they don't want to mislead guests planning a trip into thinking that it will be available to ride.

Did you like it? Yes! I rode in the very back row. Despite the fact that the rules on Lightning Run basically require you to be stapled, it had quite a bit of nice ejector airtime. And unlike Magnum, said airtime was not painful. If I had had time for repeat rides, Lightning Run would have been first on that list.

Spent four and a half hours at KK today. That was enough to ride pretty much every major ride in both the dry park and waterpark. The only ride on which I encountered a nontrivial wait was Lightning Run, which was a ten-minute wait. Everything else was walk-ons or nearly so. Getting in could have been handled better. First, 15 minutes before the park opens, and you only have one ticket window open? Really? Then, when they say that the park opens at 11:00, they mean that they do not open the gate until 11:00. I wore my new Thunderbird shirt, and several ride ops commented on it (all who did were excited about it). Otherwise, though, the staff in general came off to me as unenthusiastic and unenergetic. Given the park's urban setting, I was surprised that the choice of music for the entire park was country. Having heard about the park's past under Six Flags, I was also impressed by the lack of poor guest behavior, which likely was the result of the large number and high visibility of "public safety officers" (essentially security). Overall, I give Kentucky Kingdom a D+. They haven't failed yet, but several things need improvement, and the road ahead is steep and uphill all the way. And yes, I rode Deep Water Dive. The trapdoor has a window in it so you can see how far you have to fall. I got in, looked down... and had no second thoughts whatsoever. And the drop was awesome. Eiffel Tower Construction

I've always wondered how they evacuate a stuck elevator. Now I know. That raises the question, though: what happens if, heaven forbid, both elevators are stuck at once? Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain -
I'm not sure if there's a rule or not regarding linking to other sites, but this has a great list of specifications. http://www.coaster101.com/2014/07/24/holiday-world-announces-thunderbird-launched-bm-wing-coaster/ Thanks. As you can tell by my avatar I am now a Thunderbird fanatic. I'll tell Banshee tomorrow night that you're cheating on her. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain

As of yesterday, RCDB claims that Diamondback cars have a single row of 4 seats, not two rows of two seats. Their own photo gallery proves them wrong. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain

And now that I'm plugged in at the hotel, I can finally add my opinion. I am thoroughly impressed. I said a while ago it was going to be a launched B&M, and I was right. And I suggested a wing coaster this morning, and I was right again. But I never in my wildest dreams thought they would have combined both of those into one ride. I definitely will not miss HoliWood Nights next year. And I am strongly considering getting a season pass again next year (I had one in 2013). Oh, and I bought one of the shirts they had for sale: Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain

They're looping enthusiast quotes on the screen right now. Including several from KIC. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain Edit: beaten.

Front-row seat for the announcement. I'm on 3G and don't want to turn on Wi-Fi, so don't expect much posting from me until I get to my hotel. Also, a deer just ran through the construction area. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain

I'm guessing that those covers mean that the footers are ready for supports to be installed. Remember that they have a delivery tomorrow, and supports must come before track.... Me too! Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain

Pics from Hyena Falls! View from the approach: Big shots and a TV crew: The stage is set: Looking off into the distance: Looking over Voyage's first drop (apologies for not having a camera with an optical zoom; I wanted to pack light): Looking almost straight down: The bottom right corner is the railing on the back of Hyena Falls's platform. The camera is pointed almost straight down. That should give you a clue as to how close to Hyena Falls this is. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
