  1. How would they terminate anyone other than an employee?
  2. Again, I'm thinking a B&M launcher. That will continue to be my guess until I see hints that strongly suggest otherwise, or the announcement itself. Which there's about an 80% chance right now that I'm going to be there for it.
  3. I'm guessing that you know something here that we don't and you can't tell us yet. Which, given your position, is entirely possible.
  4. ^ What's a non-parking day? EDIT: Bah, next-paged.
  5. According to the Evansville newspaper, by way of the HoliWood Nights group on Facebook, this is a $22 million project. That's nearly two and a half times their previous largest investment ($9M for Mammoth). It's also definitely in the "major steel coaster" range.
  6. Just because it'll be the world's first doesn't rule out a Dive Machine. Think of an Invert Dive Machine. Or Wing Rider Dive Machine. How about a Stand-Up Dive Machine? Or a launched one. The possibilities are endless. Hmm. The forums say that I liked this post, yet I do not remember clicking the like button. And logically, given my experience on ShieKra, there is no reason why I would want to like that post. Unfortunately, the forums do not permit unliking a post after you've left the page. I agree with Terpy.
  7. Back then, probably reality. My statement above speaks only from my experience, which only goes back to 2010.
  8. ^ Makes perfect sense. Sit down in a chair, then stand up. Your heart is lower when you're sitting than when you're standing. Simple as that.
  9. The tent I've used to camp near Holiday World the past couple of years came from Walmart for $25. Actually a decent tent for how basic it is. Had no problems with it until last October, when it leaked in the rain, but that's my fault for not performing maintenance on it, specifically applying seam sealer. If I go to this next year and don't get selected to camp, I'll make sure to toss my tent in the trunk of my car just in case there are no-shows and they make that offer again.
  10. It was previously announced that their 2015 attraction would cater to "hardcore thrill-seekers"....
  11. With the caveat that line length is not necessarily an indicator of popularity, I have never seen a line longer than a one-cycle wait for SR&R, even on a busy Saturday. IIRC they even have arrows permanently painted on the ground at the queue entrance directing riders to bypass the switchback, which suggests that that switchback is never used. If it does get removed, hopefully they will replace it with something good, like, I don't know, our Flying Eagles?
  12. The general speculation I've seen on Facebook leans toward either being the King James coaster, since green and yellow were his high school's colors, or a conversion to floorless trains. With regard to the latter, one guy here said that there is a rumor that that Mantis will be shutting down in September for the conversion.
  13. ^ I'll let Terpy handle that one.
  14. I can assure you that that is not correct. Onride recording can get you ejected from the park and possibly even prosecuted. No loose articles means no loose articles. Safety. And, call me cynical, but the park will also not want competition for its sales. No outside food...no onride photography. I believe he was referring the the comment above his that these new cameras might be for use in enforcing the rule of no on-ride photos or video. That indeed wouldn't work well because many who do illegally shoot photos or video are in the front seat for an unobstructed view, and these new cameras apparently do not cover the front seat.
  15. Interesting. I'm guessing that you may soon be able to purchase reverse video of your ride.
  16. Could it possibly be a B&M launched coaster? B&M has never designed a launch in-house (the launch on IOA's Hulk came from a third party), but they did say not too long ago that they would be willing to do so if asked.
  17. ^ That's actually Day 61 (today). Another HoliBlog post from Leah went up this evening: http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2014/07/18/promises-kept/ Note the very end. Whatever this is, it's the first of its kind. Based on that, I think we can rule out a Dive Machine.
  18. This is getting veeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy interesting........
  19. There were no fires on Flight of Fear. Smoke, yes, but no fire in either case.
  20. Enthusiast events generally do not have a noticeable impact on crowd levels. Even at CoasterMania! 2013, with over 2,000 attendees, most rides still had the very short wait times that one would have expected given the cold weather that day.
  21. ^ That is indeed the sauce I was referring to in my original post on that subject from last week.
  22. Wonderful! I know the Grand Carousel will be a must-ride on my next visit.
  23. Wait, so we have THREE Jonathans on here? Cool! Unlike the noodle, which is still tacky and uncool. *runs for the exit*
