Any trip tips for Holiday World?
jdawg1998 replied to thunderbeast1968's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Doesn't really matter - both parks will be quiet on Monday, both parks will have moderate crowds on Sunday. -
Is Disaster Transport (@ Cedar Point) doomed?

Is the building big enough to put a pretty decent sized coaster in it? Or *cough*HUSS Giant Top Spin*cough* -
Any trip tips for Holiday World?

Side note: I just have to say while Liberty Launch is very small and a quarter of the size of Drop Tower, it is my favorite non-coaster at Holiday World by far - it gives you great airtime and it packs a punch for its size. -
Pretty much no schools get out that early, I don't think. That's a bit too early...I doubt there will be any crowds at all - Monday I wil also be going to the park after school to see the crowds! There are several Northeastern Kentucky schools (within 90 miles of KI) that are already on summer break, my nephew is one of them. The remaining majority of them will be getting out next week. Go back to school August 8th + very mild winter = Out of school May 15th Wow, that's insane. August 8 is way too early to start school - that's still summer!

Pilgrim's Plunge and Liberty Launch are must rides, and sorry to say, but that's about all worth riding on the dry side...in Splashin' Safari - which you HAVE to go to - ride Mammoth, Wildebeest, Zinga, and Jungle Racers. In my opinion the waterpark is better than the dry park and you should spend most of your time at the waterpark - you'll be done with the dry side very fast, unless you like riding carnival rides like Revolution, Scarecrow Scrambler, etc. Have fun. -

I would love to see a roller coaster at Coney Island, though nothing too big because it would ruin the park's atmosphere. Like jbt mentioned, I would love to see a ride like Tornado (I've never been on it but it still looks good for Coney Island).

I am very excited for Bluegrass Boardwalk. My family says it will be easier to go there instead of Holiday World or Cedar Point because it is closer. I don't know why so many people are angry at the Koch's decision - it's there decision and you don't know how much they probably talked about it before.

I saw this in my newsletter in my email from Kings Island but have seen no talk about this here on the site or anywhere else: Any other word on this?

Last year it took WindSeeker to open about a month, right? and it is so sensitive to wind, every time it was a little windy (15+) it would close it seemed like, Now this here, it's not even open at all! What a disappointing ride..

I was about ready to kill the girl that wanted to take my picture (figuratively, please do not turn me in to the cops for planned murder) - my dad and I walked in..."Hey, step right her and I'll take your picture" "No." "It will take just a second!" "No!" "C'mon, I'll take your picture." "No, thanks" (proceeding to walk on) She cut us off and basically made us get in position for a picture. ..Sorry, off topic but just going with the previous post.

WindSeeker wasn't open yesterday when I went. So unreliable.

Well I meant the start of the 80's...more like the 70s through the 80s...

So today in the Coney candy store, the cashier next to me asked the customers "Do you have a Gold pass?" but the lady I had did not...although she also gave me my change but missed my hand, and it took her a whole minute to figure out the change...so I guess she was new, but still, she should probably know about Fun Perks.

1,000 /5 for today. Holy moly was it packed. An hour and a half wait for most major rides, and I saw rides running with people at around 10:30 (specifically Drop Tower). It looked like Disney World on a Saturday durIng spring break! Was not expecting the crows that today brought.

Good to know I'm not the only one that loves he 80s, even though I was born a whole eighteen years late.

How did you even find the link for it...

Your topic title is Cedar Fair but you say that Kings Island is owned by Cedar Point... ...to answer your question, I think Cedar Fair was a great change for Kings Island, especially with Matt Ouimet now being CEO.
-
I would say the amusement park feel - Busch Gardens, Disney, Universal, etc., are themed and are more of an "experience". Kings Island is a fun, no-worry place to find a ride and go ride it. When visiting theme parks it seems like you plan more, make it a big deal, stay for three days, and it's your number one vacation for the summer.

^ Probably because the park was closed for good in '71 to relocate rides to Kings Island but it ended up reopening.

But if you write out ****y it gets blocked. "c o c k y"

No way Sunday was a 3/5. It wasn't Columbus Day weekend, but it was probably a 4/5 or 4.5/5 from my experience. It was personally the most crowded visit I've ever had at the park. Diamondback was 1.5 hours, Flight of Fear and Firehawk were over 2 hours. Adventure Express / Vortex queues were full and well onto the midway. The entrance host claimed Boo Blasters was even an hour wait. Sure the waits were low for the first hour or two the park was open, but it got progressively more packed, peaking at 3PM or so. It was so bad that I had to buy Fast Lane to save my day. Wow really? See I was only there from 9am - 12pm. So I guess it got worse.

Diamondback: Go up, go down, go up, go down, go up, go down, go up a turn, go down, go up, go down, turn into brake run, go down, go up, go down, go up, go down, go into helix, go down, go up.

...or Diamondback...The Beast doesn't really go up and down...more of left to right.
