We have been contemplating a winter visit for a number of years to Orlando, but, have always figured that the crowds at the Disney parks would be outrageous. Would seem that after Jan 7th would be the time, but, with a kid in school, would be impossible. I wonder how the week before Christmas works out crowd wise?

I think they live in Whoville, and eat who hash, among other things.

I entered for some reason...knowing that I never, ever win these things.

I remember vividly my first ride on that darn thing...in the original trains, with my brother. I am 6'6", 235 lbs. He is 6'4", 260 lbs. Not only did we barely fit, but, we were both beaten half to death. The novelty was cool, the bruises, not so much. Ride experience was so bad, did not ride it again in that incarnation. Rode again after the removal of the loop, with the new trains, by myself, since they "fixed" it. Did not beat me up nearly as bad, but taking out the loop neutered it. Still not a good ride. Rough. Shame that the decisions made during planning and construction resulted in such a bad combination, which, in turn, wasted untold tens of millions of dollars.

http://twitpic.com/bbhv01 Nevermind. That always seems to work better for me.

This just in... A message from the National Institute of Steel Coasters. "F@#* Woodies".

The Racer kicks puppies, does not keep itself presentable, only half shows up to work most days, and The Beast is going to raise taxes, and shoot Grandma. I'm Diamondback, and I approve this message.

Why do we call them buildings when we are already done building them?
-
Would seem, reading between the lines, that KI blew its allowance on tearing down SOB. Perhaps a couple new garbage cans, we know Ed Alonzo will be back, maybe a coat of paint on The Racer?????
-
Why would anyone in their right mind spend the $$$ to tear out half a million dollars of building, concrete, footers, walking paths for the que, exits, etc, then spend the same, if not more in 201(3? 4?) money to rebuild the same thing? I would much rather they invest that money in the new ride, in redoing/retheming Action Zone as a whole, a new flat ride somewhere else, anything but waste it.
-
The SOB station will be re-used, at some point down the road, for a new attraction. No sense in removing a perfectly good structure that they easily have hundreds of thousands of pesos already invested in.

Don did say today on Fox19 that Ed would be back next year.

If they are planning to actually add a whole new "area" to the park, that will be one of the biggest bulldozer jobs in the history of the park. A whole lot of land will have to be removed, along with all the footers that are left behind. The graveyard comment is spot on.

Everyone knows that the problem with the WindSeekers is the seventh fetzer valve bypass line. They've been sticking. Probably the humidity.
-
I would certainly hope that would be addressed with "park expansion". Certainly a glaring omission.

The coupon redeeming went well yesterday. No problems at all. Saved $50 on my passes, and, used the $20 in Beagle Bucks to pay as well. Ended up at $169 and change out of pocket for 3 gold passes. Also redeemed two free game plays, $25 merchandise voucher, and two front of line passes without issue. Made last Friday nights debacle better. Made 19 trips, spent probably $100-150 during the season at the park. Went from level 1 to level 4 in one transaction buying Fright Lane passes. I don't know what the "magic formula" is, but $60 ramped it up from 1 to 4.

Good program, rewards the folks who visit the park often and spend $$. Just the past weekend, I ended up with $95 in coupons, merchandise vouchers, and Beagle Bucks, all of which will be used tomorrow. Biggest problem I see is that they really do need to get the employees that are in charge of redeeming some of the coupons up to speed. Sheer buffoonery. All in all, nice to get a little return on the money and time spent this summer.

Oh, goody. It did seem as they were as useless as tits on a nun back there, and, turns out that I was absolutely right. I did get $20 in "Beagle Bucks" back, bought a t-shirt for free. So, I guess they cost me $40, or, $60 with a free shirt. I kind of wish that you hadn't told me that. It seemed like complete ineptitude in that shack last night. *Edit* The good news is, apparently that fiasco took me from 1 star to 4 stars. So, gives me two $20 off a 2013 season pass. So, between that, the $20 in Beagle Bucks, the $25 Merch voucher, and the $40 savings on two season passes, I did OK. Not so mad now. Plus, three more that I can print off.

Agreed, every haunt last night was better than it was opening night. Glad that they had the "chainsaw" back at the end of Slaughterhouse...shows that those in charge do listen, though, give him a real chainsaw, for petes sake...lol Daughter and I went ahead, as this was our last trip to Haunt, and got Fright Lane lanyards. Were $30 a piece with our half price Fun Perks coupons (took an act of congress to get it done, though..inept work at it's finest). Made it thru every single haunt in 3 hours, taking our time around the park. Really helped on Madam Fatales, CornStalkers, Tombstone, CarnEvil, and Massacre Manor. That said, Fatales was great! CornStalkers is utterly useless. Tombstone was decent, best part the bridge across WWC all fogged up. Definately not worth waiting in line for. Club Blood, again, useless. Other than the three or four dancers inside, just silly. The lady outside had the line of the night, directed at the group of 12 year old boys in front of us. Cannot say it here...wouldn't want to get her in hot water, but, HILARIOUS!
