In 2079, I'll have long since been worm food, or 106.

As long as they can read the napkin correctly...

Now, the article states 1,424 feet...7 inversions and 68 MPH would be one hell of a way to travel 1,424 feet.

As much as a media day extravaganza sounds great, and, as much as riding on opening day sounds wonderful, I simply abhor waiting in lines to the point that I absolutely refuse to deal with that nonsense. To quote Van Halen, "I'll Wait". Another day or two won't kill me. Waiting in lines like that might.

I must not like traveling because I don't like change. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU3qfDtWFmk

"I want..... a shrubbery!!!" (If you don't know what that's from, look it up.) As long as they put in...another shrubbery. Then, place it beside that shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a little path running down the middle.

Wolf Pack will remain in the old SOB station for the foreseeable future.

Daughter and I are planning to take a week, visit CP for a couple days, take in a Tigers game, a Blue Jays game, and visit CW for the first time. Sucks, though, that we both need to pay for the passport cards, but, they will be valid for a while, as we do enjoy cruises as well, though we haven't done that since 2008. Wife and daughter are visiting Universal in March.

I don't wear cargo shorts and i still don't have a problem with my wallet, phone, keys, and camera.I also agree that the best solution would be lockers like Universal. Or for people that are concerned about their drinks, they could create a drink band program; Instead of getting a cup you have to carry around all day, just give you a wrist band that you can get drinks anywhere. Have you ever tried to put stuff in a locker on the Harry Potter ride? Good luck. KI did do a drink band program in 2012, I enjoyed it very much.

Whatever happened to planning? Why not store the things you MAY need during the course of a long day (cooler of pop, sandwiches, waters, etc) in your car, a 5 minute walk from the front gate if you arrive before 10am? It works one of two ways. Going to a park is not a 10 day trek to Istanbul. Plan accordingly, and travel lightly so you don't have to rent a locker, or, if you feel the need to bring half your worldly belongings with you to the park, rent a locker. Simple, really.

Superb news...should be that way on every ride.

Cinci Streetcar A Go
Bennett replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The streetcar is a cluster fluck, just as Mark Mallory and his supporters were/are. Poorly designed from the outset, the costs were brazenly lied about by the supporters, and will paid for with money that the city does not have, going on a route that no one needs. Does it stop at the Casino? Convention Center? UC/Clifton? Very, very typical of the city, though. The only reason this disaster passed to begin with was that ignorant SB5 proposition was placed on the ballot at the same time the streetcar was. The liberals came out of the woodwork, and thus, we have this epic fail of a project. A shameful waste of money that the city does NOT have...the route alone should have been a non-starter. Yet, you have the liberal mindset..."Well, we have to do SOMETHING..." Add to that, the Mallory administration hurried up the project to the point that those with fiscal sanity couldn't pull the plug. Ugh. -
If it is one, to me, it has to be The Beast.

Perhaps they will use the special Shark Repellent Bat Spray, which may or may not be readily available.
-
I'll "edit" too...lol By your words, though, you would have visited only twice when the original ride was operational. I think that "most of my youth" may be overstating things a bit.
-
Kind of knew this was coming, but still very, very cool! Can't wait to see the new paint job, and new theming of the ride. As I have said many times in the past, I've always felt it a shame that such a cool ride was kind of lost and forlorn back in the weeds, all by itself, sitting to rust and rot away. Now, to breathe new life in to the ride? Makes me very happy...and, glad that I bought a couple of the $5 FD shirts.

We did Flight Deck around 1pm on Sunday. Had planned on joining the group for the afternoon, but, having gotten home from my daughters band competion at nearly 3am, we were just done.
-
I will be sure to get in one last ride on FD on Sunday. I have a feeling that it may be my last one...at least in the current incarnation.

Very cool pics! Thanks! -
The silence by the KI staff is interesting...are they cleaning up the dirty eyesore for next season, or, are they cleaning up the dirty eyesore for good?
-
Yes, that is one huge waste of paint, and money, which we all love money. They painted it primer grey anyway, and, the ride looks terrible as it sits presently. They did not do a COMPLETE paint job, just coated the track and some supports. The station looks horrible, the lift hill looks terrible too, as well as the tranfer track area. A complete makeover is exactly what is needed on FD. Is, to me, one of the most fun rides in the park, the only thing that lets it down is the walk back to it, and the looks.

Friday night football, Skyline Chili, Riverfront Stadium, and the Opening Day Parade jump immediately to mind.
-
No. I don't think that you could get the " bang for the buck", either on our end, or CF's end. I enjoy the atmosphere of KI in the fall. Don't know that any significant changes would be warranted. The park looks tremendous coming in, the rides are strong, the haunts are fun, if not frightening. Would not change things.

You centered us perfectly....lol

I upgraded to Platinum from the Gold pass. I am assuming that my new Platinum pass will get me in to the park for the rest of the operating season. That said, I am keeping my Gold pass in my wallet just in case. The girl behind the counter didn't seem too sure which pass would work.
