  1. Just here these days. There was another one I used to check weekly, but I can't remember the name, and I don't think I ever became a member there.

    Late Night

When I can't sleep. I'm generally a night owl so I'm up pretty late anyway, but some nights are much later than others. I kill a lot of time on the internet.
  3. I like Coney Mall because of the midway/arcade feel it has.
  4. Mine was technically the Great Pumpkin coaster (I think it was the Scooby Zoom back then?) and my first non-kiddie coaster was Adventure Express. But I always count my first "big" coaster as the King Cobra, because that's when I started to really get over my fear of them.
  5. Wow, that pic is crazy! My first ride on Diamondback was last summer, in June. My cousin and I got there for ERT and we had just come off The Beast, and she knew I'd been talking about riding it. So she convinced me to get in line and we only waited 10 minutes or so. They put us in the second to last row, which terrified me because I prefer to be in the middle or towards the front if it's my first time on a coaster. I was so nervous, but I made myself stay in that seat and before I knew it we were clearing out of the station. Once we made it down the first drop, I loved it and have ever since.
  6. Oddly enough, IMHO, I feel like The Racer is actually smoother than it's been in recent years. I had to stop riding it a few years back because it got unbearable - the constant slamming back down in my seat after every moment of airtime killed my back. But I started riding it again last year if I remember correctly, and in my experience, it was better - and I'm talking about the blue side. It's still a little painful at times, but to me, nothing like it was a few years ago. The red side was noticeably smoother, but I rarely ride that side since it was made to face forward. I do agree about the general condition of the ride, though, in terms of the aesthetics. With Adventure Express, I just miss the old theming. I know there were legitimate reasons for taking those elements out, but I still miss them. It made the ambience of the ride. Sometimes I forget just how jerky that one is though. Flight Deck still seems like a good ride to me, I'm just generally not a fan of walking all the way back there for a ride that feels like it's over in about five seconds once it's down the drop. And I still miss the days of hearing the TG soundtrack playing while walking/waiting in line. But then again I have a penchant for cheesy 80s music, so...

  8. Oh I didn't mean it was quite the experience in a good way necessarily. I prefer at least the middle of the train, but my only ride so far in the front let me feel that "hang" over the top of the first drop. Wow.
  9. I rarely ride in the front seat of coasters but occasionally I like the front of Vortex or The Beast. The front of Diamondback was quite an experience, too.
  10. I love coming here to read what you all have to say, seeing as a lot of remarks make me laugh! Also, my first visit to the park this year was not only fun, but I appreciated the enthusiasm of the ride ops as well - asking people how their ride was with a smile, revving people up in the stations and even playing games over the PA system with riders was certainly a nice thing to see.
  11. I think it varies from person to person, and even on the day. There are times that I go where I squeeze in as much as I can ride-wise, and there are visits where I may only ride a handful of rides and spend the rest of the time doing other things, whether it be chilling in the beer garden with whomever's with me over a cold one, playing games, shopping, etc. I certainly think it is possible to have a good trip there even without riding anything for most people.
  12. I prefer the combination of both. Theming is a BIG bonus for me, but I still want the thrills mixed in. And I too miss the theming of days gone by at KI, though at least it still exists in some areas.
  13. 1. Diamondback's drop, also the splashdown 2. FoF's launch 3. Magnum's first two drops 4. The old Tomb Raider waiting area, when the video would play and the effects would occur, etc. 5. Vortex's drop and last two loops 6. SOB's first drop was amazing 7. When you actually get your car on the Monster spinning really fast 8. Very outer row on the water side of Viking Fury when it hits it's highest point
  14. So great to see old pics from that era, thanks for sharing those.
  15. The Bowser's Castle idea would be very cool indeed.
  16. My earliest memory of KI was riding the witches cauldrons (not sure what they were called?) with my mom, and I remember the Smurfs ride. I remember the slide as well and I think it used to scare me back then even though I rode it a few times. I remember many of the rides that are still there just under different names and theming, like the bumper cars. The merry-go-round was amazing with all the Hanna-Barbera characters.
  17. I would love to see some sort of new ride there, in or out of the box.
  18. I would love a new flat ride or as others have said, sprucing up certain areas of the park. Of course I miss the ride theming, too.
  19. For me it's either not having someone to go with or bad weather.
  20. I went out for a few hours after 3 p.m. today, seemed to be running fine while I was there. I got one ride in.
  21. KI's always been a fun place to just enjoy the day, the rides and the experiences with your friends and family. It's a place I've grown up going to, made a lot of memories in, and conquered a lot of fears within. It's nice to be able to go there and forget the stress of life and most of your worries while enjoying the fun.
  22. I've only ever had Skyline and Gold Star, but I've always been a GS girl. Both are great, but it wins out for me.

    Ice or no ice?

I have to have ice unless it's really cold already. I'm an ice eater as well, I can't help it.
  24. I love Delirium. It doesn't bother me in terms of the spinning since I don't get motion sickness, fortunately. It's a great way to cool off and I just like to enjoy the ride. Sometimes I still get a little freaked out when it reaches the very top, but I love it.

    Ghosts

I believe in spirits, yes. I've never personally seen one but several family members and friends have had sightings and other very strange, otherwise unexplainable occurrences. My grandmother's house was haunted during the time my mom was growing up. It was eventually discovered her property was part of a stretch of land where many Native Americans passed away, so in effect it became a burial ground. So yeah, me personally, I'm a believer.
