  1. A FB friend made a status this morning proudly proclaiming that "Kings Island is tearing down Son of Beast and getting an inverted stratacoaster!"
  2. It cut out a lot once the announcement was actually made, as the viewer numbers were going up quickly. But I really appreciate you doing that for all of us, was totally pumped to be able to watch what I could of it since I couldn't be there!
  3. This looks awesome! Loving the color scheme, the station, the layout, everything. Looks like it will be a really fun ride - and what a cool logo to boot. Also, I really love the teaser video...kinda cool when she wails and SOB falls to pieces.
  4. We've been given a receipt each time after handing a pass to be scanned, and were told to hold onto it in case we were coming back in later. It is odd to implement that for the parking lot but not the park, but I suppose they have a reason for doing so.
  5. Had to pick The Beast, but also loved the old AE and FoF logos.
  6. Candy - Milky Way Midnights, Reese's, Butterfinger, Gummy Bears, and Russell Stover Coconut Cream Eggs. Dessert - Hmmm...hard call, but I love creme brulee.
  7. Best smelling - There's something about AE that makes me all nostalgic. Best sounding - Flight of Fear's launch, Vortex's lift hill, and for some weird reason, I love that strange horn sound of Monster when it moves.
  8. 1. Right 2. Pessimist (wish it weren't so) 3. Imagination 4. Education 5. Be taught
  9. Currently on the laptop, but have an iPad as well, so sometimes on the mobile version.
  10. Just answered this in another thread, but Drop Tower and Xtreme Skyflyer. I'm up for every other ride in the park but those two. I've chickened out the last two years with them.
  11. Drop Tower is one of the two rides in the park (the other being XS) that I will not ride. Maybe someday I'll work up the nerve, but I just hate that free-fall sensation.
  12. Thanks for the report and pics...man, it's been entirely too long since I've been there - I see some rides I don't remember.
  13. I haven't taken a completely solo trip to a park before, but there are plenty of times when I have to break off from whatever company I'm with if they don't want to ride some of the bigger coasters. So I'm used to riding alone for about half the day. I always prefer riding with friends/family, especially because it makes the wait in line more bearable and is generally more fun with more people, but if I want to ride something bad enough, I don't mind going alone. I have found it's easier to really kind of 'zone out' and enjoy the ride more alone, too.
  14. My mom is the only one who will ride this with me and we always get so frustrated when it won't spin. I've actually had better luck riding it solo.
  15. Is this a problem you've experienced before on rides or is it new? Were you noticeably tired that day? I'm another who is lucky enough to have a strong stomach when it comes to rides, but I every once in awhile I may get a little nauseous from certain rides. When I was about 15 or so, my first ride on King Cobra left me a tad dizzy and disoriented, but after some food and water I was fine again. Last week when we went out, I had a little nausea here and there after Delirium, but I'm pretty sure mine was caused by the fact that we hit up the bier garten first thing and I didn't have much on my stomach yet that day. The rare times I do feel that way, it's usually because I haven't eaten in awhile. I don't have any other advice other than what's already been mentioned, but best of luck with sorting it out.
  16. I found it smoother as well, even riding in a wheel seat of the back car. The helix, however, was a different story. Last year the front seat gave a pretty good ride from what I recall. Haven't ridden there yet this year.
  17. I used to hate Firehawk simply due to that feeling of "falling out." And even now riding it, it can be uncomfortable when all your weight is being pressed against the restraints. But honestly, the more I made myself ride it, the more I got over that fear, and now I really enjoy the ride. I do have to block out the sun on the way up, but now the worst part to me, as many others have noted, is the deafening lift hill ascent.
  18. I'm assuming this is the one that's been mentioned above?

    6/10/13

I'm glad the rain didn't ruin your day! We opted not to go because we weren't sure if more storms were going to hit the area (I couldn't go out until around 4 anyway), and turns out we would've been fine. Oh well, shooting for another day this week. Love the story about the little guy on Invertigo, I bet you made his day
  20. Of what's still operating, I'm not a big fan of BLSC, I just don't find it too exciting after the initial launch and it really isn't worth the wait. Vortex is getting harder on me, headache-wise, but I wouldn't put it on my hate list just yet. Also didn't really care for Corkscrew at CP.
  21. And the forecast will probably change again before Monday arrives. There have been days we've gone when it was supposed to be horrible weather-wise but it ended up being really nice. It may rain the first half of the day and then clear off and be beautiful.
  22. I'll hopefully be out there for my first trip of the season on Monday afternoon as well. The times I have been out there caught in the rain before, things weren't closed down for long (or at all), providing it wasn't an absolute downpour or a storm blew in. I had some interesting rides on Delirium in the rain one year!
  23. I seem to recall Firehawk having a posted weight restriction of 200 something at its entrance, unless I'm mixing it up with something else.
  24. Glad you had fun with your friends! I always loved school trips to KI, some of my favorite visits to the park. Thanks for the TR!
  25. I almost always end up with a pretzel w/cheese during the day. Either Skyline or LaRosa's for dinner, and most visits will stop for a blue/vanilla twist cone. I haven't had Potato Works in ages though, and reading through this thread is making me want to change that this summer.
