  1. Ok thanks Terpy. This coaster is "controversial." A 153 degree "inversion" and topper track yet it still retains "wooden" status. Coaster freaks (like myself) have a lot to "talk/debate" about... Quotation mark overload...
  2. RCDB has 3 inversions listed for Outlaw Run. I thought there were only two with the double barrel rolls. Did they count that outside banked turn as the third inversion? Maybe I'm missing something. Anyone want to explain whats up?
  3. ^If it is against TOS I am sorry and will remove the message. I wasn't trying to make a political statement I was just using two examples that are both well outside the norm, according to the definition of and adult in the US (age 18 is considered an adult, while both examples included a range from age 26 to 8 respectively).
  4. It only cost $10 million? I would've thought it was a bit more than that. Not bad. I'd love to ride this thing. I know everyone will focus on the double barrel roll (seeing as it is an inverting woodie) but I think the 81 degree first drop may be the best element on the ride!
  5. Interesting. Our president considers 26 year olds to be "children." I wonder why KI considers 8 year olds to be "adults." Hint: Both notions are absurd but I think they both are motivated by $$$$ (just a guess)
  6. SSSSHHHH!!! Don't give them MORE ideas to milk money from the paying customer!!!
  7. You will be forced to use "one-time lockers" at BGT. No backpacks, fanny packs, hats, etc allowed in the queue... I think they are $0.50 a ride. They tried to make me put my camera in there and forced a couple of guys to put their hats in there. I just put my camera in my pocket and walked into the ride queue.
  8. I told ohiocolts and dudecoasterman this. I really think it is one of (if not the) toughest elements in the park as well. I struggle with it every time. Back to the topic: I finally experienced my first gray out ever on my night ride on Vortex Saturday. I had been in the park since 11 am and it was about 9pm. I rode a lot (31 rides during the day) and during the second loop I grayed out. I was looking at the lights on WindSeeker and they almost disappeared as I was looking at them... After the loop I was okay. Pretty scary/weird experience.
  9. Apparently you missed that whole post (or at least the first line in that post). This is my last post on this topic I will not respond to anymore here... because apparently my humor doesn't come off well in text... (it happens)
  10. I understand it... They don't want anything negative posted on their board for people to see. Also my post was in response to another person's post talking about SOB so it wasn't just some random/unprovoked post.
  11. Don't get upset KI fanboys. It's fine they made mistakes. And yes it was paramount's fault. But they (CF) knew what they were getting when they walked into the situation. Believe it or not KI isn't even the best park in the state, let alone in the midwest. They aren't perfect and when they aren't I do have the right to call them out on it. Just because you like a park doesn't mean they are immune to criticism and can do no wrong. Like i said I don't care (TERPY!!! ) that I was banned from writing on their Facebook page. The page is pretty useless anyways (just look at some of the comments in this forum about the page). Just pointing out here, that I was right and they banned me for a silly reason (calling them out on a mistake). I accept their "punishment." End of story.
  12. ^^^I was posting this as a joke. I could care less if I write on their facebook page... They made their point when they banned me for saying they wasted money on SOB and the Crypt. I said it politely without curse words. I pointed out the fact that they could of had Intimidator 305, Sheikra, The Legend, and Ravine Flyer II for the money they wasted on those two gimmick rides that they ultimately "rented" for barely 9 years. The funny thing about it is they banned me after two comments (which were posted on different days) yet a couple of months later they admit (by tearing down both rides) that they were wrong. It's not my money they wasted so it doesn't bother me! They have to live with the fact that they blew $50,000,000 in a down economy on two piece of crap rides.... @Brwntggr Yeah I'm not sure why I got banned but I guess the truth hurts though and apparently it was bad press for the park(???) so I got the snip.
  13. This message is for Don. Now that you guys have made a decision about SOB can I please be allowed to post on the Facebook webpage again? -Jon Green (Wrongfully banned for saying SOB was a mistake)
  14. Let me stoke the wood/steel arguement flames a bit here: KIC meet topper track! Topper track meet KIC! Let the debate begin!
  15. Preface for the KI fanboys: I like DB but again I think logically... I'm still scratching my head on how DB got in this category... I guess the travel channel didn't want to "travel" to TOO many parks and just filmed at the minimum amount of parks to get the footage they needed for their shows.
  16. I just can't help but the think how much money was wasted by KI on SOB and the Crypt in the 2000s. It has to total over $50,000,000 and that is a minimal estimate. $50,000,000 for two rides that didn't last over 9 years... That is quite pathetic... For that price, if KI did their research and actually built rides that were from reputable construction companies, they could have had all of the following rides built AT Kings Island: Ravine Flyer II: $6,000,000 Intimidator 305- @25,000,000 Sheikra- 13,500,000 Legend- $3,000,000 KI STILL would've saved $2,500,000 total. Its such a shame companies focus on gimmicks (Tallest,Fastest, Only Looping, Longest, First, blah, blah, blah) instead of focusing on building a fun and reliable ride...
  17. On the list of comments under the annocement that SOB will be removed: Hey everyone whining about this, theyre building a new version of it in 2015. It will be wooden as well. My friend that works at Kings Island heard they might use the Son of Beast wood to recreate it. So stop whining, itll be back I would be certain that KI would never build a similar coaster. I almost doubt a wooden coaster too. Just purely based on how stupid people are. I can clearly see people commenting on a wooden coaster going "Hey is that the SOB?" blah, blah, blah But who knows KI might go the cheap route (again) and build a woodie using the SOB wood... Hopefully they learned their lesson about the bottom dollar instead of a quality product.
  18. Not sure about why people get bent out of shape about a topic posted. I think that if a ride is down for the majority of the day, if not all day, that is newsworthy and should be mentioned. I would hate to go to the park and see that FOF or FH is down all day especially when I could have been notified ahead of time. If it is posted here I can see that there has been a problem with the ride and then call KI ahead of my visit time to make sure the ride is fixed. If my favorite ride or two rides are down the day I plan to go, I would change my mind and not make the trip. No need to jump down someone's throat because they posted something about a ride's down time. Side note: If you haven't seen a useful post here in a while: A. Make a useful post/topic yourself or B. Don't comment and wait until something "useful" comes up.
  19. Awesome! Sounds like you had a good time! Nice to read a review on the more positive side for IB. I think I will take a trip there this upcoming week and see how it is for myself. Thanks for the report!
  20. We could be discussing the Mayan Calander, and SoB would find it's way into the conversation. Well I do think that the "suits" wouldn't mind if the Mayan's were right... That means they wouldn't have to make a decision about SOB!
  21. Seeing as it is the middle of July I just wanted to check in and see how is everyone doing on their park goals so far this year? 1. 22/75 2.183/300 3. Not doing so hot this year (Haven't been on a flat yet , I might just take a day and ride the flats instead of the coasters) 4. Accoplished. Voyage:21 Raven:11 Legend: 10 5. 1 out of 3 BGT is added. IB is planned 6. 8/15
  22. It's not greedy. It's your choice to buy it. If it's too expensive you don't have to buy it. Being greedy would be making you pay $12 for a locker! So true. But who will be the voice on this board that says "You don't NEED to buy a locker."
  23. Sweet. I never noticed it before. I guess you learn something new everyday! haha
  24. the one before the sand volleyball and new wave pool. Maybe it has been there the whole time? I just never noticed it. I thought that the river was longer but thats why i said it "seems to me like a longer "lazy" river" Sorry if I was wrong on both.
  25. Ever been to Holiday World? They have two wave pools AND two lazy rivers. It works out fine for them...
