  1. The amount of interesting posts in this topic, and we're only 6 days in......... Since I have failed to recognize the importance of the topic prior to, here are some of "BB1's Tips on Surviving a Decoding": Don't overthink things. Don't underthink things. Look for what is, or what won't be expected, both can happen. Expect sarcasm, and some cryptic posts here and there. Don't forget this one simple thing: Look everywhere, not just in one location(s). If you weren't here a few years ago, just understand this, Decoding is a phenomena that only happens ever so often. Participate in the conversation. Have FUN! I won't put down my full thoughts until May comes around, I need to ride the train a few times to get my bearings on things. But I will agree, something is coming, and people will be either let down or excited for 2017, depending on the camp you sit in. (Just don't camp under the trees, they're falling you know!)
  2. Does Boomerang Bay count? If so, yes! If not, the Flying Eagles/Antique Cars removal was the worst mistake ever, and I still believe that the replacement is garbage in comparison.
  3. First the fence, now the topic? Geez I seriously need to stop being so accurate with my predictions, I'm not Nostradomis you know! I'm just putting this out here for people to chew on: The start of the Project 2017 discussion was sparked by a very renowned Cedar Fair employee visiting the park looking at plans. Said plans are what seems to be around White Water Canyon. Fence goes up around old entrance of WWC and the old Funnel Cake Stand. Terp posts nebulous posts about diversions when the dirt fiasco happened earlier this year. We could easily see a flat ride, a dark ride, a "log flume" (ha ha, get it?) or maybe a coaster (which would make no sense as it doesn't fit in with timelines) Antique Cars anyone?

    Project 2017?

Coasterstock attendees will get a treat. After dinner, of course. This by far is my favorite statement from you, ever. Someone frame this, it's gold. Speculation will ensue, and diversions too. I just can't wait to see people jump all over a post being moved behind the fence.

^I would look for CoasterOhio's profile image coming to a park near you! "Everything's a cycle folks, even this is one!" In all seriousness, the wall returns, and so does the decoding. I'm saying that it will be an attraction!
  6. This is it, the grand finale. We are finally at the end of the Off Season as Kings Island opens this coming Saturday for everyone to join in on the great thrills at Kings Island. As I was planning out this week's poll, I couldn't help but think of the future of where we will go in 2016. Sure, I could end out on the best of this and why is this the best, but really, that cannot be the end. This poll series is dedicated to keeping enthusiasts out of the Off Season blues, but also to expose ideas and branch out into what we can do in 2016. So to end out the 2015 KIC Off Season Poll Series, where will 2016 take you? Will you go to more parks? Or will you re acquaint yourself with old parks? Will you come back to a classic Kings Island event? Or will you become immersed into a new Kings Island Tradition? I would like to say a special thanks to everyone who participated this year! Overall we have 24 weeks of polling, never skipping a week, with credible debate and conversations in most of the polls. As well, this year's poll has been interesting as this year I had some interesting poll topics arise, and some interesting conversations pop up. I'm glad that this year was such a success, and yes there will be a 2016 KIC Off Season Poll Series. Now give me a break and let me get back to looking up Boomerang Bay stuff.
  7. Yeah...hate to tell you this, but the prediction is in the high 60's-low 70's and partly cloudy. Sorry... Hey you never know, this is Cincinnati weather that we are talking about.
  8. I really hope that it snows next week. Riding The Beast in snow means that I have ridden The Beast in virtually every single weather condition!
  9. ^Big nope more melancholy, smooth.
  10. Do you happen to remember any of the lyrics, or was it instrumental? Just instrumental, it is a tune that I got stuck in my head and I can't seem to find it. Was it a song meant for Halloween? The only stuff I can think off that would fit is the music from Nightmare Before Christmas. Yes it was only for the Halloween playlist. It's laid back and it sounds like something out of a mystery flick. I can't seem to find it anywhere.
  11. What harm could this small coaster even do? I have never been a screamer, nor will I ever be, so personally I don't mind. But if you chose to live near an amusement park, you chose that lifestyle. It's like moving in next to a waterfall, you will hear water falling all day every day. Ridiculous, truly is, I can't see how this coaster could pull screams, but then again, why are people complaining about such a thing. Enforcement will be tricky, and it will be interesting to see how it will play out.
  12. Does this Bay area have some Boomerangs in it as well? I don't know what is worse, knowing that it has been 23 weeks since I have been to Kings Island or that there are two weeks left until I can return!
  13. As Opening Day is looming, anticipation begins about our first coasters at Kings Island in 2016. For some, it's our umpteenth time riding Banshee, for others it might be the first time ever riding Diamondback. We all have something to look forward to when it comes to coasters as Kings Island has a vast array of coasters for us to indulge as we brush off the Off Season blues. In light of the soon approaching Opening Day, what will be your first coaster at Kings Island for the 2016 season?

    Project 2017?

^ That folks is called a diversion. Take everything with a grain of salt and you'll be fine. Keep all possibilities open and remember what KI needs and what KI doesn't need! BB1, trying not to be a Centurion of sense.
  15. I don't know about you, but when Opening Day is looming I tend to reflect on the few Opening Days I have been too. It's truly a special day at the park when the coasters come alive yet again for a new season. But some of the Opening Days that we experience are more memorable, like your first ride on Banshee or your first ride on The Beast for the season. What is your most memorable Opening Day?
  16. Do you happen to remember any of the lyrics, or was it instrumental? Just instrumental, it is a tune that I got stuck in my head and I can't seem to find it.
  17. I guess here would be the best place to post this. There's a song played during Haunt season, but I honestly do not know the name, but i love the song. It has a saxophone playing with an undertone of a smooth electric guitar. Does anyone know it? Oh and of course, Land Down Under, Men At Work in 2004!
  18. These coaster cars just scream Kentucky Kingdom. I personally don't like the purple on red rail idea, it just seems odd, i would have went with dark blue cars personally.
  19. Ah the double edged sword arises yet again. I have my problems, and perks to this new system. Let's first take a look at the problems: Most of the games are "on a whim" spending, or at least for any of the times that I have ever played or friends have. It's usually "Hey that looks cool, I'll play this game to win it!" from reports from friends and my own personal experiences with the games ar Kings Island. If I have to go and put money into a machine for a card, I wouldn't, because when I'm at the park, i might see it as too much. It would be an hassle to go to a kiosk and do more work than to just hand over $2. On the flip side, this locks people into using money given. For example, instead of giving little johnny $10 which he may only use $5, he is given a cash card that he has to use all $10 dollars for games. It's an interesting process, but if implemented correctly might work. Personally speaking, the last time I played a game at KI was 2 years ago, so don't expect me to turn a new leaf so soon. (Although if you give me Gold Pass discounts, maybe I will.)
  20. As the new season is coming in just a few weeks, already people are getting excited over the new shows. Now personally, I rarely/almost never go to the shows as I go for the attractions, but others get excited over new shows that Kings Island creates. With the New 100 Reasons for Kings Island, we saw the soft announcement of a few shows, one of which called Origins. What are some of your most anticipated shows for Kings Island in 2016?
  21. It's basically all rubble now. Sure, a few bits of buildings here and there with the sign still up but it's mostly gone now. I'll check tomorrow and describe if anything new happened as i will be driving by.
  22. Oh please, what's next on the chopping block, my fish tank? SeaWorld is a place of conservation and education, they spark ideas on how incredible fish species are and how we need to keep them. Sea World takes care of their animals (for the most part) to the fullest extent possible. They are making up for the orca incident, but for all the other animals they look fine in their enclosures anyways.
  23. First off, again, sorry for the late post, yet again I have been under the weather all week and I am getting over it now. As Opening Day comes even closer, our eyes divert to how we will spend it. As the Spring like weather has came into the Cincy area, I thought it would be a prime time to share what our Opening Day anticipations are. That is, how you will enjoy your stay at Kings Island, what do you expect to see, and other things you might have to offer to the conversation!
  24. I know I'm only spreading the flames when I say this, but has anyone else been paying attention to the new enterance? There's obviously a new sign going in, rock features and a recessed area to hold the signature. This sign defintely fits a Kings Island signature, and, I'm kind of impressed that I might be the first to see it!
  25. For some of our non-French speakers on here "Revue" is French for "Review". As trademarks go, be precise, but really it's just some French mixed in with English that means literally what it sounds like. Anyways off my French Soap Box, I honestly believe this could be a cool location. A nice facade, maybe a few small bushes and flowers, it will serve as a great advertisement for Fischer Home. As well, a great family meet up point, as to meet "back at the house" is already common family lingo. My only question is how it will be run, as I could see this area getting crowded, quickly. To have a limit on guests or to have an expansive area? Also, I wonder how well it could be the lost kids area as it might not be this location as if it is to be mainly a family relaxation point, the dual role of being a lost children's area seems a bit much.
