Enough of this "it would look weird" or "2 coasters can't be next to each other". That is fanboy crazy talk. Geez, you act like they need to use feng shui or something. If they put a coaster in there, just enjoy the thing. A true enthusiast will ride anything, not caring what it looks like, where it's located. They will come to ride it. Mic drop....... As you know there are many, many factors that go into a timetable for new large attraction. The economy wasn't exactly booming in the period between the addition of Diamondback and Banshee. Parks will do what makes them money. Holiday World just flexed it's muscle last year, and it appears that at least some money that would have otherwise gone to KI is now going to Kentucky Kingdom. There are no hard-and-fast rules. If adding Coaster X next year helps the bottom line more than money spent in other parks or places they'll do it. I'll just quote these two posts, fryoj you're not being left out so let's run through this. I am not a fan boy of the park itself, trust me I have seen much worse at the parks and on forums. I am looking at the same area in question, and I just don't see a Giga going in. I simply do not see it, let alone how Kings Island, along with other Cedar Fair parks have an admiration for their skylines. I just really don't like the idea of having a Giga then a Hyper right next to it, I would see it more or less in the back. I know Cedar Fair can do anything, but you forgot to look at what I was discussing in general. A LARGE coaster in River Town is what I am discussing, I just can't see Kings Island having an huge coaster like that. I can possibly at the max see a Blitz coaster model, maybe a small Wing coaster. But do I see that? No, in fact I would much rather see a Green Intamin coaster being spotted on site before we get anything huge. I can see a log flume, as personally after the removal of the large flume, KK, Kings Island could use it. Think about it folks, certain trees are taken out, and if it was a Giga I would think there would be much more removal. A flume would fit perfectly, making RiverTown true to it's name with water attractions and it would fit with the whole falling trees deal. I just really do not get this Giganaut for River Town that has sparked on the forums. I must be missing something because I just don't see it happening, I can see it in other places, but not here. *(And before someone goes and states "oh well you're BB1 and you are a Boomerang Bay fan boy!". I'm not, I like what I like, but I'm not a fan boy.)

Just remember, the time frame between Diamondback and Banshee was 5 years, what you guys are predicting is a 3 year cycle for large coasters. I just honestly cannot see Kings Island purchasing a large coaster like a Giga for 2017. It would make the skyline to the right of Kings Island look packed and it would feel awkward sitting next to another B&M coaster. Sorry folks, but I'm not drinking the Kool Aid, I just can't side with this.

Idea: Ticket sales and to keep locals flocking into the park to make updates. Thus creating popular PR with local media outlets (TPR, Orlando Sentinel, etc), making more people intrigued with the addition. Therefore making people buy more tickets and plan WDW vacations with Walt Disney World or a local travel agency working with WDW Resorts. That's just my two cents from what I see usually, it's an interesting bit of Floridian culture.

Alright maybe I should chime in here.(hypothetical situation) I go to a restaurant and order a large to go cup of sweet tea. I expect the tea to be how I ordered it, not in any other way. I expect this cup to be the full extent of what a standard large cup is, and that my tea is sweet. I go to Kings Island and I purchase a Gold Pass, with all of the perks that come with it. I expect all of the perks, not just a fraction of it. ERT, when handled like this, will create lines that are hassles to me personally. As ERT is intended to be a break from the general public lines, and an exclusive event to let me get on quicker. Diamondback alone does not fulfill this requirement to keep ERT fun and worth my money.(end hypothetical situation) Having Diamondback+Beast or Banshee or any other people eater would be a much more expedient process. Meanwhile, if Kings Island opens both Diamondback and Beast, more than likely everyone will flood to Diamondback. Why do I know this? Because this happened years ago during Fall ERT, when I was the only one cycling on The Beast for hours. There are two shiny sides to this ERT coin, and both sides have their points. I simply like getting in the park before everyone else so that I can be first in line or have the closest chair to the Breakers Bay pool side. One area that I think ERT could expand is into the 2016 HAUNT. Maybe open up an Haunt early for each weekend that Haunt is in operation, making it even more of a perk to have a Gold Pass at Kings Island.

I feel really stupid, I tried to look all over the train tracks on Google Earth, nothing. Am I missing something to look at? Utilize Bing Maps, it is much superior to what Google Earth is giving me. The area in question is on the train tracks right next to the road, the large old fort. Note that I haven't used Google Earth in some while now, and that imagery is nothing but blurs with old photos. Yet, the Street Side view of Boomerang Bay is amazing on Google Earth.

^Look on Bing Maps or Google Earth on the interior of the fort, and you will notice an interesting surprise. (Please do not trespass Kings Island property nor any property owned by any company that you are not designated to be in. I am not advocating for trespass of any kind, nor any illegal clearance into such environments.)

There are people who strongly agree with you, others, strongly against the RMC Iron Horse to iconic classic wooden coasters at Cedar Fair park locations. (but then again, you have to be "ThatGuy" .) "If it works, keep it!"

Or Kings Island could revert to Diamondback+Beast ERT. That was an excellent combination, and something I miss.

From what I saw on Opening Day, 95% of people that I saw going to the games, were redirected to the card stations. Now that I look back at it, I didn't see as many people playing the games. Not to mention that I personally didn't feel right buying a card, with a card, to use at a game, then to loose that card would mean I lost all of that money. It may just be growing pains, but I'm still not buying the cards.

The amount of interesting posts in this topic, and we're only 6 days in......... Since I have failed to recognize the importance of the topic prior to, here are some of "BB1's Tips on Surviving a Decoding": Don't overthink things. Don't underthink things. Look for what is, or what won't be expected, both can happen. Expect sarcasm, and some cryptic posts here and there. Don't forget this one simple thing: Look everywhere, not just in one location(s). If you weren't here a few years ago, just understand this, Decoding is a phenomena that only happens ever so often. Participate in the conversation. Have FUN! I won't put down my full thoughts until May comes around, I need to ride the train a few times to get my bearings on things. But I will agree, something is coming, and people will be either let down or excited for 2017, depending on the camp you sit in. (Just don't camp under the trees, they're falling you know!)

Does Boomerang Bay count? If so, yes! If not, the Flying Eagles/Antique Cars removal was the worst mistake ever, and I still believe that the replacement is garbage in comparison.

First the fence, now the topic? Geez I seriously need to stop being so accurate with my predictions, I'm not Nostradomis you know! I'm just putting this out here for people to chew on: The start of the Project 2017 discussion was sparked by a very renowned Cedar Fair employee visiting the park looking at plans. Said plans are what seems to be around White Water Canyon. Fence goes up around old entrance of WWC and the old Funnel Cake Stand. Terp posts nebulous posts about diversions when the dirt fiasco happened earlier this year. We could easily see a flat ride, a dark ride, a "log flume" (ha ha, get it?) or maybe a coaster (which would make no sense as it doesn't fit in with timelines) Antique Cars anyone?

Coasterstock attendees will get a treat. After dinner, of course. This by far is my favorite statement from you, ever. Someone frame this, it's gold. Speculation will ensue, and diversions too. I just can't wait to see people jump all over a post being moved behind the fence.

This is it, the grand finale. We are finally at the end of the Off Season as Kings Island opens this coming Saturday for everyone to join in on the great thrills at Kings Island. As I was planning out this week's poll, I couldn't help but think of the future of where we will go in 2016. Sure, I could end out on the best of this and why is this the best, but really, that cannot be the end. This poll series is dedicated to keeping enthusiasts out of the Off Season blues, but also to expose ideas and branch out into what we can do in 2016. So to end out the 2015 KIC Off Season Poll Series, where will 2016 take you? Will you go to more parks? Or will you re acquaint yourself with old parks? Will you come back to a classic Kings Island event? Or will you become immersed into a new Kings Island Tradition? I would like to say a special thanks to everyone who participated this year! Overall we have 24 weeks of polling, never skipping a week, with credible debate and conversations in most of the polls. As well, this year's poll has been interesting as this year I had some interesting poll topics arise, and some interesting conversations pop up. Yeah...hate to tell you this, but the prediction is in the high 60's-low 70's and partly cloudy. Sorry... Hey you never know, this is Cincinnati weather that we are talking about.

I really hope that it snows next week. Riding The Beast in snow means that I have ridden The Beast in virtually every single weather condition!

Do you happen to remember any of the lyrics, or was it instrumental? Just instrumental, it is a tune that I got stuck in my head and I can't seem to find it. Was it a song meant for Halloween? The only stuff I can think off that would fit is the music from Nightmare Before Christmas. Yes it was only for the Halloween playlist. It's laid back and it sounds like something out of a mystery flick. I can't seem to find it anywhere.

What harm could this small coaster even do? I have never been a screamer, nor will I ever be, so personally I don't mind. But if you chose to live near an amusement park, you chose that lifestyle. It's like moving in next to a waterfall, you will hear water falling all day every day. Ridiculous, truly is, I can't see how this coaster could pull screams, but then again, why are people complaining about such a thing. Enforcement will be tricky, and it will be interesting to see how it will play out.

Does this Bay area have some Boomerangs in it as well? I don't know what is worse, knowing that it has been 23 weeks since I have been to Kings Island or that there are two weeks left until I can return!

As Opening Day is looming, anticipation begins about our first coasters at Kings Island in 2016. For some, it's our umpteenth time riding Banshee, for others it might be the first time ever riding Diamondback. We all have something to look forward to when it comes to coasters as Kings Island has a vast array of coasters for us to indulge as we brush off the Off Season blues. In light of the soon approaching Opening Day, what will be your first coaster at Kings Island for the 2016 season?

I don't know about you, but when Opening Day is looming I tend to reflect on the few Opening Days I have been too. It's truly a special day at the park when the coasters come alive yet again for a new season.
