#PlatformWatch Day 50, they have noticed me, but not of my purpose. Don tries to pry my secrets open, but I am just a platform.

Selfish? Fish from sel? I would certainly hope not!I'm actually pretty surprised how quickly this Summer has passed by. Here I was expecting a longer time period with more planning time. Nope, it has come and will go as soon as it started. I should really try to get some more summer night rides on The Beast before it is over!

I am usually the guy to post this kind of topic. I would like to, but my problem this year is that my schedule is too volatile. I would prefer an end of summer event possibly to get some final summer rides on Woodstock and to get some Beast rides in.

I have basically three categories of dark rides: Dark coasters, Dark water attractions (something is in the water....), and Dark conveyors. Personally, if you put something in the dark, it's a dark ride.

Sounds great! I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to the waterpark and made some unforgettable memories doing so!

I second MC, the parking lot is packed!

I just walked past it and wow does this thing bring back memories. I remember being at the 1900 Park Fair at Grand Floridian hearing the organ in there and this definitely sounds like something straight out of a German fair. Excellent job!

Just saying a first hand experience: Those mothers and fathers of those children are true heroes. Helping their children, who have been struck with illness and keeping a smile on their faces is something that I could never even begin to imagine. The same goes for the children who deserve every bit of the "Time Out For Illness". Getting to connect with the kids a part of A Kid Again is something that I could only imagine as a blessing for myself and for my fellows at the park. Kids are kids no matter what condition or illness, and deserve to be happy, just as all kids do. I HIGHLY suggest to everyone to consider going to the Coasting For Kids, even though I have never been able to due to my schedule and monetary constraints, I have seen the difference that it creates in these kids and it is something that everyone should either contribute to and or participate in. Just always remember though: Behind every ride on The Racer, or dollar, or penny you donate, a kid could be a kid again and give illness the best "time out" there is.

It does. I second that notion. BB1, grateful for this topic.

Lines are minimum today, the waterpark shut down, but it seems to be an excellent day to be here at the park. Anyone else here?

Well, that escalated quickly. I would much rather a revival of the name than for it to be bulldozed. That's almost like me saying that your favorite attraction should be bulldozed. It makes money, and has a great theme, seems like a good thing to me. Manypatrons partake in the waterpark when they go to a themepark so that way they could cool off, in turn they could have a better day at the park. Without this, they would be very hot at the park which would not let them have fun as much as would with a waterpark. Also, another point: what would you want instead of Boomerang Bay waterpark*? *Being at either Carowinds or CGA BB1, the Boomerang Bay enthusiast

Regardless of whether or not you like it, AiG is one of the tourist attractions in KY. I go to the Creation Museum almost every month in the Summer to walk the gardens and soon the Zip Lines. Yet, every time I go there, I see people buying merchandise, looking at the scenes and etc. It's a cash flow for Kentucky in all honesty, and being somewhat close to area attractions, it drives people there by proximity. For example, just a few weeks ago me and a few family members were there for a picnic, on the far side of the parking lot was a huge bus, where there were many students who came, to spend money, at the Museum. I too see plates from all over, Mississippi, Texas, Colorado, etc. Now you have this+ the Ark Encounter, you have a cash flow for tourism in the northern part of the Bible Belt. NKY is booming with industry and tourism is one that is on the rise.

Tis not confirmed or denied my fair lad. There's something in the water.... Jaws? People? Poo? Bacteria? Nope, just BB1 in his tube floating in the River. (In all seriousness, I don't know what is going in, nor if we will have this kind of expansion. I just know he just posted a report about the water)

I know of a somewhat bodybuilder who hates "Diamondstack" ; he prefers the INTAMIN installations far more than the B&M.BB1, just pointing out who it could be.

"Is Thunder Falls the pump for the Splash River?" A guest to a lifeguard. Sometimes I just wonder......

I've been there too many times to even count anymore. Soon to be more as the season progresses.

Indeed, but I certainly do not like that form of Yeti!

Recently I have been re sorting through some of my old documents to find a few concerning Bigfoot sightings and where they have been clustered towards. Bigfoot is one of those things that people have been going on about for centuries dating as far back as to the Native Americans and the peoples of Nepal. What are your theories about this mythical creature? Is it real or not? On a side note, this is my monthly operating season poll series ladies and gents.

1. Check the heights, at Soak City height requirements are strictly enforced on any and all attractions. Make sure to ask the Lifeguard if your child is capable of riding and or needs a lifejacket. 2. Sunscreen, it does get hot and the sun is extreme so sunscreen application is a must. 3. How to rank up: Start your day with smaller slides, something like the Splash Landing attractions or possibly some of the Lookout Cove slides if they are acceptable. Soon after go to some of the moderate slides like Zoom Flume and Thunder Falls. Both are more family fun for all ages. As they grow older and taller, that's usually when Rendezvous Run and Paridise Plunge come into riding range. After that is when usually people ride slides like Tropical Twister, Pineapple Pipeline, and Mondo Monsoon. It all depends on how brave the child is and the heights of the children. Have fun! BB1, that Boomerang kind of guy.

Umm..... there are quite a lot of Intamin Gyro Drops, and many more Drop Towers that don't launch you. I didn't know King's--err, Kings Dominion has a ride called Drop Zone. More than likely this guest has experienced HW far more than other guests. I can name off many installations of which could categorize as a Drop Tower, Drop Zone, Tower Of Terror @ MGM Hollywood Studios, Falcon's Fury........ But if you were to go to side "parks" ie Space Camp for the kiddies, regional park fairs, there's a Chance that you will find a launch tower.

So what woodie at Kings Island would you want to get an RMC treatment?

SOB would have been perfect for a whole makeover. Add in a new loop effect, some corkscrews, some Top Gun stalls in the roses. That would have been an incredible coaster; that is if it were redone completely and then safe.
