  1. Hey guys, first off, thanks for all of the support for my poll series. Secondly, with this being the 2nd year, I did notice a few places here and there where I could improve and some things I have been experimenting with. So I just want your honest response about the poll series, comments, questions, any ideas on what you would like to see, or see more of, next year. I'll try to incorporate your responses into this year but I cannot guarantee it; again, thank you guys so much for the support!

    2015 talk

When I saw this topic the first term I saw was "InvertiBlow". How I miss the old days.... 2015 is a great year for me, KK, KI, HW, and the possible CW all of which are getting additions that I am somewhat excited for. (I'm afriad that my neck and head will hate me after T3)I can't wait to get back into the park, 2015 will be marathons on FE (which is IRONically made of it!), and relaxing evening runs on The Beast.
  3. Just recently we saw two of the largest projects going into the 2015 season: ThunderBird and FURY 325. Both of these were embraced deeply by the theme park enthusiast bases and are the buzz lately. With this, I took an aside to reflect on the test footage we have seen prior to this, and with that being said, that is this week's topic: Which coaster has the best test ride footage?
  4. If Adventure Express were to be taken out, I wouldn't know what to say. AE is a classic, of course it will be worn and a bumpy ride. But that's the ride! It has the nostalgic 1900's prop theme style and the adventurous feel reminiscent of the Indiana Jones films (if you watch the series the day before you ride the coaster that is.). I usually sit in the back right seat, it whips you around, it will rattle you, but it's so fun at the same time. In fact, I would love to see a major update similar to the ones with the Knott's Berry Farms attractions. With modern technology, and retro themes, Adventure Express could be the golden Arrow we all love.
  5. ^That, and Kentucky Kingdom too!
  6. Safety mechanisms. Yup, all those safety mechanisms that make the coasters the thrill machines they are.
  7. ^You should try to get to the Kingdom, it will surely be a trip that you won't want to miss!
  8. With 2015's Operating season coming quickly, it is about this time to start to get the plans finalized for the 2015 season. With this, the must do attractions in 2015 go into the decisions process deeply. So, what attractions that are new for 2015 are your must do's?
  9. ^Just don't throw a HUSS about it! I wouldn't mind to see a new flat go in at Coney Mall. Something classic that would bring back the antiquity of the region.
  10. I'd personally say Adventure Express is the best roller coaster in the park, but whatever... Eh, I could name a few attractions that take both of those bad boys down anytime! I hope you guys have an amazing time working at Kings Island, I remember my first year, and it was a blast. Now, being a semi-veteran of the park, it's always great to see old faces back at the park, and to interact with the guests at a level only Cedar Fair's Kings Island could bring to the table. I look forward to working with you all, and the others who applied to Kings Island! -BB1
  11. That's the beauty of a documentary: it shows the flaws and the good in a coaster. Of which, it could show how the design wasn't proper and needed major re-haul. I would see the doumentary as 3 states: The beginnings, operation, and post operation. Basically a visual essay about the whole coaster and how it was flawed in different ways. Now of course, this is only a mere idea, it's not what I personally want or need, just simply putting thoughts out there for the populous to discuss.
  12. EDIT: Nevermind, just being skeptical. I don't mean to spark controversy or anything, but it is just odd. Now when it comes to this, I think a Docu will probably be made, but not officially. Rather, by the enthusiast bases, like KIC or TPR, or you name it.
  13. Okay I'll admit it, I am getting a little bit of nostalgia due to my upcoming trips back to my old parks and to some new parks with old themes. Also I have been going through some of my old content on my laptop and KIC, bringing back old topics brings back memories I wish I could hold onto forever. With this week being a little bit in the past, I decided to bring our poll week back into the KIC Forums. In all of your time visiting KIC, which topic was your most memorable? Why was it most memorable? Feel free to post links or quotes from the topic that you find most memorable.
  14. Don't forget Clay, good old Clay.
  15. For those (like moi) who did not get to go, here's a walk through I found:
  16. 1. Son of Beast's Station along with its chain lift mechanism, also the original trains are behind Dinosaurs Alive! To see them, one should ride the Blue Racer, WindSeeker, or the Eiffel Tower in the back of the park. 2. The lights from Lion Country Safari are directly under Congo Falls. 3. There are several Footers from the original Bat under Vortex and right next to the Station. Also the maintenance doors have two holes in them( obviously to incorporate The Bat's suspended track). Along with The Bat's Station (except it was Orange not Blue.) and the stairs leading up the first lift hill on Vortex are from The Bat. 4. Going back to Son of Beast the queue line is still there and also whats left of the Track sticks out of the Station. 5. The original Enchanted Theater exit is still there; It is next to The Great Pumpkin Coaster ( the big mural of Baron Snoopy in the Pumpkin Patch). The doors are still there and they are now used for CarnEVIL's exit during Haunt; of which The Great Pumpkin Coaster's loading platform shelter was originally used for The Smurf's Enchanted Voyage. 6. Flight Commader's Queue is still there, which was used for Kill Mart. 7. Phantom Theater's entire queue line is present along with the Maestro's Balcony and Spooky faces that I think were supposed to be Maestro are in the Hallway. They've got boards on them and glowing red eyes and are all from Phantom Theater. Maestro's Profile Photo is one of the many in the hallway, who looks like the Maestro. Also Kings Island has a plethora of the Animatronics and the Phantom Theater Mouse is used in Board to Death. Along with the Boiler Room furnace in Slaughterhouse Reloaded towards the end of that maze. A cut out was located in Kill Mart. There was also a few Phantom Theater things in Madame Fatales Cavern of Terror. 8. There were a few King Cobra Footers still present behind Slingshot next to Banshee but they have been removed. Also King Cobra's Chain along with other parts of it might be in Flight of Fear. Although the trains from King Cobra were moved back in 2008 to Kings Dominion to be used as spare parts for ShockWave; a clone of King Cobra down in Virginia. Those trains were in Flight of Fear but now are next to Volcano:The Blast Coaster from what has been researched. 9. The Paramount's Kings Island trams are clearly visible from the top of the Eiffel Tower. 10. Der Spinnen Keggers' flag poles are still visible in OktoberFest next to the Viking Fury. 11. Sky Ride's Footer now has a tree in it in the Joseph Moerlien Bier Garten. 12. Top Gun's Stars on the over head road leading to The Bat are still visible. 13. SkyLab's queue line is now a prize storage room facility. 14. Tomb Raider:The Ride's photo booth is still next to the Madame Fatale's Cavern of Terror, of which it is now used as a Haunt prop. 15. The go-carts from Thunder Alley are visible from Firehawk's queue and lift hill. 16. A majority of the Scooby Doo and The Haunted Castle props are still in use, except in modified forms. 17. The track from Phantom Theater is still in operation. 18. A few Haunt seasons ago the Phantom Theater buggies were on display at Kings Island for Haunt. 19. The old FACE/OFF sign in the original colors are still visible as the enterance of the Invertigo attraction. 20. Many of the Wild County Safari buildings remain except you have no way of accessing them. Along with the Trams from the Safari are at Jungle Jim's down the road; all except for the old restaurant, which is now the Chicken Shack. 21. Cars from the Jetson's Ride were also on display next to the Eiffel Tower for Haunt. 22. The Crypt's seats are stored inside Flight of Fear and The Bat Demon is used for Madam Fatale's Cavern of Terror in the original location. 23. The Son of Beast had a car on display next to the Eiffel Tower for Haunt. 24. The old Flight of Fear cars are stored inside Flight of Fear and there are some also behind Banshee, behind Son of Beast's old Rosebowl Double Helix, and near where the Son of Beast station is now. 25. The Flying Dutchman's launch pad is now the entrance to The Adventure Express. 26. Various Paramount Parks logos around the Kings Island property. 27. Guest Services BB stand is still noticeable from the Eiffel Tower. 28. The old Paramount placks in the Tower Gardens are face down/The old Paramount stars were still visible. 29. Old WaterWorks buildings still exist in Soak City 30. The old Boomerang Bay Kookaburra Bay fish on the semi submerged seating platform are still visible. Please post anything that needs to be clarified on the said list, this way we can keep it up to date and thorough. UPDATED
  17. 1st thing's first: Not all Kentuckians use the slang of "Y'all" 2ndly: Many Kentuckians have been high politicians, and or are renowned for their literary success, so don't pull the "Oh all Kentuckians are a bunch of inbreds/illiterate brew." Because Kentucky is not that, in fact that is so far from the truth and I hate it how people automatically pin that on Kentucky. I can name off multiple high functioning Kentuckian institutions of education, all of which have respectable perks and one of which is King of a certain ball type. 3rd: Not all Kentuckians think that Kentucky is illiterate or backwater, it is highly respectable for the resources and the booming economy that is developing. BB1 likes Kentucky, it has some amazing places, I do not like it when people make fun of it or discredit it, and I feel the same way as our Interpreter. </rant>
  18. Here's an article with a photo of the new cars and the info again: http://www.coaster-net.com/news/2604-winter-chill-out-a-huge-success/ I didn't buy a ticket because I knew something like this may happen. I was snowed in today, even if I bought a ticket, I would have had left yesterday and spent the night in Sandusky.
  19. Oh I have no doubt on that Terp. I know what's brewing in the Bluegrass, especially the NKY region, things are changing and the park needs to change too. I don't want KY to loose the park, but at the same time, I don't want KY to SPEND all that money on a park that isn't making money.
  20. ^That's exactly it Shark, as I pointed out in my revision before you posted, it just makes the park look even more un-professional and out-right bizarre for a theme park. KK has been plagued with bad PR, and odd policies. This, this only further deepens the muck that is the park. Now let me say this, I love the park. I think it has a great line up of both water and land based attractions. If it were up to me, I would go to KK right now. I am only being critical to this extent because I want the park to succeed, yet the park's policies and standings are just so bizarre and it saddens me to see KK go down like this for the season. Kentucky is a field worth reaping, play it well and you will make the money that the Bluegrass has to offer.
  21. And the oddities continue. http://www.kentuckykingdom.com/park-info/calendar/ Kentucky State Fair, waterpark is closed EXCEPT the Big Wave Wave pool, uh what? Not to mention that the technical opening day for KK, the 16th, is bought out for a private event. The divide continues ladies and gents, KK should be a plus 1 to the State Fair, to have both the waterpark and the theme park open for all guests to the State Fair. That way, both entities could make more dough, and to alleviate the already strained relationship between the state-Fair-and Kentucky Kingdom boards. Then there are dates to when you have to check with KK's website to see if they are open, that just doesn't make sense; it's either you're open, or you're not, choose one and act professional. That calendar just does not look like a good move in PR/Professional standings as it just doesn't look like KK is confident in their holdings. The Kingdom 7 campaign looks promising, to a certain extent, I only hope that it is an expansion out into the local lots.
  22. I would not be surprised, and I am actually sad that they have the loss that they do have. Especially with the Cedar Point water shut down was a major hit to the park, and the property itself. You had the works still running, and the park still sitting there, and it was shut down due to water. Plus, it was a peak time when people were going to the park, and for it to loose the water that it did, and the gifts that were given, a share in the loss of monies. Of course that is one park in a huge chain of parks, and it could have been a drip in the bucket, but it still holds testimony to why exactly this happened in one way or another. Now, on another note, I would expect that the loss margin could be narrower the upcoming season: Fury 325, along with other chain additions will bring in hard cash, possibly more than what we saw with the previous year.
  23. How much did your cellular device cost? Have you checked the area's jurisdiction for stolen property? Better yet, Ohio state law for stolen property? If your cellular device costed how much it is illegal to steal in the state of Ohio, you may have some sort of deal to go to po-po with. EDIT: Isn't the impersonation of any kind of law enforcement automatically a jail time offense? But hey, that's the reason why I bought a water tight case that I put my phone in. :/
  24. Hey, I for one would not mind for that. To be frank, I would add in a parking-lot coaster. Make it x height and make it go over the highway, and it would not be that bad of an Invert.
  25. Recently the Kings Island Inn, located across from GWL, closed it's final reservation and is now set for the chopping block. Let's say you had verdict on the Inn, what would you convert it to?
