  1. *sigh* A good spiel should be enlightening about ride operations and procedures. While in doing so, the spiel should also maintain professionalism while not breaking the fun environment on any attraction. Some people take it too far, others perfect it to an art form, however it is essential to build a safe and fun environment for the riders so that they could have the best, safe, ride experience. Not to mention that the best spielers, are those who don't get to use a microphone, but have to talk over raging water.
  2. That was once a boat for some of our late Boomerang Bay enthusiasts. Above the Outback Shack there was a boat with the label of Tropical Depression, after the Soak City renovation you could find this boat during Haunt in Backwoods Bayou.
  3. Der Spinning Keggers anyone? Just remember a few pickers went across the pond to find a horde of loot for certain Cedar Fair parks....... (If anyone wants an Illuminati style decoding on the barrel tweet, simply ask and thou shalt receive.)
  4. Hey $15 for the plans and then a few more for a frame, and you have a fine piece of art to hang in your living room!
  5. Plants in Planet Snoopy, p is the first letter of project 2017. Project 2017, happening in River Town, what else is in River Town? The Beast! What is The Beast? A wooden coaster, wooden coasters. What other wooden coasters have been at Kings Island? Son of Beast! Son of Beast, what would be the next in line for a coaster that may or may not be of lineage to The Beast? GrandSon of Beast! Grand Son of Beast starts with the letter G. G, what coaster company starts with the letter G? Great Coasters International! Therefore the Project 2017 must be a wooden GCI that is Grand Son of Beast! All jokes aside, I'm really curious about what Kings Island will pull in the upcoming weeks as enthusiasts will now be almost certain to comb over the whole area in question. Watch little kitten cut outs and litter boxes be spread out over the area, along with a speaker playing kitten meows.
  6. Plot twist: what if an antique car attraction comes in with a covered bridge? It would make sense with the area and land distribution.
  7. This is the best post in this whole thread.Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk Might even be the best post ever on the forum. I legitimately laughed out loud [emoji1]Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk I bet its designed by Alan Schilke and built by RMC. Because that statue is intense.Vortex Lover, trying to be funny. But failing BAD [emoji23] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk Someone needs a Centurion for that statue, a blue Centurion. I have strong inclinations to various theories, RMC, B&M, a flat ride, or possibly a GCI. All of which could fit in this area, and or other areas. A RMC, GCI, or a flat would fit in the small footprint that the area encompasses permitting a small plaza and thus a new coaster area in RiverTown. A B&M however could stretch in RiverTown being a Wing coaster, however a Giga would fit more back near Action Zone/Coney Mall as it could stretch the backside of Kings Island opening up a new area. However, I could only see a Giga later on, maybe in 2018-2020 time frame so that Kings Island could continue to grow. A compact Wing Coaster that stretches like ThunderBird would also be a great addition due to the flying aspect and the continuation of the B&M use.
  8. This statement still stands. (Maybe this year?)
  9. I was bribed by burritos, and i won. Yellow is the fastest slide of the three drop boxes and yet has the smallest drop.. Blue has the most g forces 2nd longest drop (don't ask why about the g's i cannot explain.) Green is the longest drop. At first it might scare you, which is natural, but take a few deep breaths and you will be fine.
  10. In reference to The Beast: "This coaster is made out of real wood, not that durex stuff!" "This was the first wooden roller coaster." "This is the tallest wooden roller coaster, wasn't this originally called Son of Beast?"
  11. Thank goodness, no ribs. The keyword folks is pulled pork, with barbeque sauce hopefully. If enough people complain, and it becomes the laughing stock (or rack) of KIC, you know something might need to change at your event in terms of food offering.
  12. Hey usually when I am at FoF, it has a line. In fact, every day that I have been at Kings Island this year it had a long line. I can see Premier doing some touch ups, but I think that this is just another ruse. Just remember this simple term "Diversion".
  13. Speaking of that, one of my biggest hopes for next year is a 45th anniversary restoration of Racer. New track work, new LED chaser lights running the whole course, and most importantly, restoring the original red white and blue paint job. Perhaps even new trains if the park is willing.Again, wishful thinking. Been wanting it to happen for years. I would honestly love to see that happen more than getting a giga. I agree with everything you were talking about until the LED Lights. Racer definitely could use a bit of an upgrade in the nostalgia department. The paint job would be a great idea, and would set The Racer apart from the Midway as it has more color than just white. Keep that nostalgia with classic chasers, if it works, it works, don't make me loose the classic warm glow of chaser lights. To add on top of that, maybe a train upgrade to make it actually worth my time, and possibly the unleashing of The Beast with less trims! Also in light of the 45th anniversary, maybe, just maybe, the classic Log Flume will become classic yet again with a retheme?
  14. 1. A phone is a phone, you survived how long without it? You can survive a few hours without it. Better yet, have it safely secured on your person and or in some sort of carry on luggage like a backpack. 2. Why would you even think about risking your life for a product that can be replaced? I don't know about you guys, but I am thankful to have my appendages and I want to keep them! Thankfully the guest was apprehended and taken care of as needed. My pet peeve is to follow the rules when you go to an amusement park, there are reasons why and yet people still pull off stunts like this.
  15. If you're disappointed now, just wait. No one is saying that KI will never get a Giga, I believe it will come, just not yet. We all want what we want, but have no fear as any attraction will be a great attraction at KI in 2017 (except for what was Son of Beast).
  16. Enough of this "it would look weird" or "2 coasters can't be next to each other". That is fanboy crazy talk. Geez, you act like they need to use feng shui or something. If they put a coaster in there, just enjoy the thing. A true enthusiast will ride anything, not caring what it looks like, where it's located. They will come to ride it. Mic drop....... As you know there are many, many factors that go into a timetable for new large attraction. The economy wasn't exactly booming in the period between the addition of Diamondback and Banshee. Parks will do what makes them money. Holiday World just flexed it's muscle last year, and it appears that at least some money that would have otherwise gone to KI is now going to Kentucky Kingdom. There are no hard-and-fast rules. If adding Coaster X next year helps the bottom line more than money spent in other parks or places they'll do it. I'll just quote these two posts, fryoj you're not being left out so let's run through this. I am not a fan boy of the park itself, trust me I have seen much worse at the parks and on forums. I am looking at the same area in question, and I just don't see a Giga going in. I simply do not see it, let alone how Kings Island, along with other Cedar Fair parks have an admiration for their skylines. I just really don't like the idea of having a Giga then a Hyper right next to it, I would see it more or less in the back. I know Cedar Fair can do anything, but you forgot to look at what I was discussing in general. A LARGE coaster in River Town is what I am discussing, I just can't see Kings Island having an huge coaster like that. I can possibly at the max see a Blitz coaster model, maybe a small Wing coaster. But do I see that? No, in fact I would much rather see a Green Intamin coaster being spotted on site before we get anything huge. I can see a log flume, as personally after the removal of the large flume, KK, Kings Island could use it. Think about it folks, certain trees are taken out, and if it was a Giga I would think there would be much more removal. A flume would fit perfectly, making RiverTown true to it's name with water attractions and it would fit with the whole falling trees deal. I just really do not get this Giganaut for River Town that has sparked on the forums. I must be missing something because I just don't see it happening, I can see it in other places, but not here. *(And before someone goes and states "oh well you're BB1 and you are a Boomerang Bay fan boy!". I'm not, I like what I like, but I'm not a fan boy.)
  17. Just remember, the time frame between Diamondback and Banshee was 5 years, what you guys are predicting is a 3 year cycle for large coasters. I just honestly cannot see Kings Island purchasing a large coaster like a Giga for 2017. It would make the skyline to the right of Kings Island look packed and it would feel awkward sitting next to another B&M coaster. Sorry folks, but I'm not drinking the Kool Aid, I just can't side with this.
  18. Idea: Ticket sales and to keep locals flocking into the park to make updates. Thus creating popular PR with local media outlets (TPR, Orlando Sentinel, etc), making more people intrigued with the addition. Therefore making people buy more tickets and plan WDW vacations with Walt Disney World or a local travel agency working with WDW Resorts. That's just my two cents from what I see usually, it's an interesting bit of Floridian culture.
  19. Alright maybe I should chime in here.(hypothetical situation) I go to a restaurant and order a large to go cup of sweet tea. I expect the tea to be how I ordered it, not in any other way. I expect this cup to be the full extent of what a standard large cup is, and that my tea is sweet. I go to Kings Island and I purchase a Gold Pass, with all of the perks that come with it. I expect all of the perks, not just a fraction of it. ERT, when handled like this, will create lines that are hassles to me personally. As ERT is intended to be a break from the general public lines, and an exclusive event to let me get on quicker. Diamondback alone does not fulfill this requirement to keep ERT fun and worth my money.(end hypothetical situation) Having Diamondback+Beast or Banshee or any other people eater would be a much more expedient process. Meanwhile, if Kings Island opens both Diamondback and Beast, more than likely everyone will flood to Diamondback. Why do I know this? Because this happened years ago during Fall ERT, when I was the only one cycling on The Beast for hours. There are two shiny sides to this ERT coin, and both sides have their points. I simply like getting in the park before everyone else so that I can be first in line or have the closest chair to the Breakers Bay pool side. One area that I think ERT could expand is into the 2016 HAUNT. Maybe open up an Haunt early for each weekend that Haunt is in operation, making it even more of a perk to have a Gold Pass at Kings Island.
  20. I feel really stupid, I tried to look all over the train tracks on Google Earth, nothing. Am I missing something to look at? Utilize Bing Maps, it is much superior to what Google Earth is giving me. The area in question is on the train tracks right next to the road, the large old fort. Note that I haven't used Google Earth in some while now, and that imagery is nothing but blurs with old photos. Yet, the Street Side view of Boomerang Bay is amazing on Google Earth.
  21. I'm not quite sure why I never thought of that. I'd never even considered trespassing, I don't want to get myself banned from the park!Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk I'm not saying that you would, just simply stating not to. I don't want to have anyone make a mess from a post, so I simply put the disclaimer in so that no one would have the idea of doing so.
  22. ^Look on Bing Maps or Google Earth on the interior of the fort, and you will notice an interesting surprise. (Please do not trespass Kings Island property nor any property owned by any company that you are not designated to be in. I am not advocating for trespass of any kind, nor any illegal clearance into such environments.)
  23. There are people who strongly agree with you, others, strongly against the RMC Iron Horse to iconic classic wooden coasters at Cedar Fair park locations. (but then again, you have to be "ThatGuy" .) "If it works, keep it!"
  24. Or Kings Island could revert to Diamondback+Beast ERT. That was an excellent combination, and something I miss.
  25. From what I saw on Opening Day, 95% of people that I saw going to the games, were redirected to the card stations. Now that I look back at it, I didn't see as many people playing the games. Not to mention that I personally didn't feel right buying a card, with a card, to use at a game, then to loose that card would mean I lost all of that money. It may just be growing pains, but I'm still not buying the cards.
