If there is one thing that is better than coaster shirts on discount in Coney Mall, it's $1.00 blue ice cream. The reason being, is so that when I buy my girlfriend her blue ice cream, it doesn't cost as much, and plus I could indulge myself in a few more. Not to mention some of the small side games that will be a dollar, could win me some bragging rights among friends this weekend as well. Should be an exciting, long lined weekend at Kings Island!

It's September, and no new ride has been announced. In fact, nothing that could be deemed "new" has been teased, announced, nor "Tweeted" out. Even though this isn't too surprising, I was at least expecting a new small flat ride, or maybe a new show. But hey, at least it seems like they will be around for next year.

Ehhhh, sometimes yes I'll agree with that. The problem with rainy nights/dusks is that it could take out operation of the outdoor scare acting like the outdoor Haunts. However, if you get to the Haunt, and it's overcast with a slight drizzle, it creates the perfect atmosphere for the event at dusk, especially on Friday nights. However, either way, a rainy day can scare the crowds away, giving me more ride times on the Haunts or Banshee. In other news, I seriously cannot believe that it is September already..... (I haven't even planned for the Poll Series yet!)

1. Yes, weather permitting, most of the rides that are not in Planet Snoopy (without Boo Blasters) and are not White Water Canyon should be open. 2. Usually maybe, depending on the night, on a Friday night they are lighter. However on a Saturday night they can be a bit long. 3. That is virtually impossible due to the roaming Scareactors who will scare guests in the park. However, if they bring back the "No Boo-Sticks" then you might not get scared. 4. I would say that if your kids are age appropriate for the event's attractions in terms of Haunts then go in and have some fun. You will get scared, but it's a fun experience to have with others to reminisce of the funny moments in the attraction. However, if you don't like being scared and graphic content then seriously don't go into the Haunts or better yet the event itself as there is graphic content I e blood and guts around the park for the event's theming. But, as I always say, take what I say with a grain of salt and call the park for more information. And or go to the front gate and ask a park representative as this is an enthusiast forum, not a park extension.

Ho ho ho! My life's dream has finally come true! (Other than Boomerang Bay returning, which would be slim chances but hey who knows.) I am very impressed with the line up and just what Kings Island will have to offer in terms of entertainment and a Christmas experience in whole. Definitely took some old pages from the original event, adding in new for the new generations to come. However I wish that Flight of Fear would be open, just due to the fact that if they really wanted to go all out, they could incorporate a Santa Claus adventure into the ride experience. But hey, it's Winterfest, I got it back, and I'm happy. I know there are nay-sayers who state that it will be hard, however I know exactly how this event will succeed: by us attending! I plan on making Winterfest an annual experience and something that I do every Christmas season, and possibly finally letting the KIC folk go to Kings Island for their Holiday party? (Maybe I'll tag along, who knows, I've been so busy that I rarely have time to even do this!)

^Maybe Mystic Timbers is it's own Haunt? #Whatsintheshed ?

In an alternate reality, Boomerang Bay would have been revamped and a new water coaster would have been installed instead of a new wave pool. A new 165 foot tall green Intamin launch Blitz coaster would have been installed where Bansehee now resides called Young Stud's Revenge. The Flying Eagles and the Antique Cars never left and Kings Island would still have Winterfest.

Alright, time to criticize my post and revise my opinions. Front seat rides during the Fall is incredible, I'll give my younger self that. But front seat night rides during HH? No, just no, front seat night rides with a full moon during the Summer is the best night rides period. My first ride did have a deer next to the track and that was pretty cool to have as my first ride on the coaster, but it doesn't make it greater in any retrospect. And to be honest here young BB1, you really didn't answer the whole question, so pitty on you, but I'll answer it for you because I now have more experience than you have. 1. "oh wow, this is actually a pretty cool coaster, I have never experienced anything like this before!" 2. Too many times to count my rides on the coaster, seriously I never did keep track but i'm up there for sure. 3. Of course I would ride it again, I ride it all the time when I am at Kings Island. 4. Legendary, period, no need to elaborate anymore than that.

"I pity the fool who doesn't dress up like Mr. T to ride Mr. T" In all honesty, I could care less about nicknaming a ride a certain way. When, in reality I will probably just call it Mystic Timbers, or Mystic, or Timber, who knows. But to go as far as for some to believe that there would be policing would be haberdashery, if anything it could become a joke for me. I will say that I wish that Mystic Timbers get some cool trees like weeping Norway spruces, or other bizarre trees and call them "Mystic Trees" or "MysTrees" and have the queue be called "The Mystic Garden" but hey, that's only an idea. (If that becomes a reality, I would freak out if there's an Australian tree and if it had a small plaque hinting to BB1, or Boomerang Bay, just saying.)

If it's a treehouse, then Cedar Fair needs to get in touch with FOX and make a TreeHouse of Horror in the shed for Halloween! In all seriousness though the shed looks as if it could be an innovative touch on the coaster, making it truly "Mystic" in some FX.

Blanche: white in french, utilized in english as a synnonym of clarity or simplicity. Also used as a nommitive in various western cultures for women. I sadly do not have a magic 8 ball to say if you know someone named Blanche but i would guess maybe. It will be interesting to see the future of the Mean Streak area, following its demise it will lead to some interesting decoding.
-
Mean Streak has been the black "streak" on the block for awhile. Even still today, people grumble about the "unpleasant" ride experience. So of course, as Cedar Fair did with SOB, they will do again with a coaster that they have more promise without than with. I don't see any of our coasters going just due to the fact that we just got an huge record with our wooden coaster track. So, to put it blanchly, Mean Streak means various things to various individuals, however Cedar Fair sees it as an attraction to take out and or modify.
-
Top Gun, simply due to the fact that it had some pretty cool aeronautical props strewn about the queue and the classic under-queue line. It was just a cool attraction with an amazing theme added to it.

Decoding Episode 2.5: BONUS ROUND! Second Announcement!

Interesting analysis on the whole Mystic Timbers announcement and some discussion on the next announcement. Interestingly enough, WinterFest would not be that bad to have this year. -
Does Living Close To KI Take The Magical Out Of It?
BB1 replied to presto123's topic in Kings Island
I don't know about you, but there's always something magical about going to the park and relaxing. No, it doesn't take away anthing to live close, if anything it only makes it better. I mean come on, how could you not get giddy when you walk down the walkway with the old BB artwork (escpecially the kangaroos, the koalas, and the sharks!), or riding The Beast over and over again until you are frozen from the fall night air. Kings Island doesn't loose that touch for me, even when I worked there, it never did. -
Manufacturer: GCI or GG. GCI has worked with Cedar Fair before and has the rapport similar to what B&M has with Cedar Fair with their attractions. GG however could provide a better ride experience with a barrel roll, which would provide a thrilling experience. Layout: I could definitely see this coaster being more of an out and back with slight traces of a twister element laced in between. The length would probably be somewhere between 2,000 and 3,500 and some as I don't see this as being a "huge" coaster like other compatriots. Height: I'm basing it at a min of 85 and a max of 140 due to the height and the layout itself, I just cannot see it being much higher than 140. Specials: If GG is the manufacturer, a barrel roll would be admired. However, with the ever impending GCI announcement, it will probably be a hybrid, wood on steel, with a few water interactions and some great head choppers laced throughout. Records: Eh, I could see Kings Island getting a record holder coaster, but not this one. Kings Island has two historic coasters already, yes the addition of the best GCI or whatever coaster would be admirable, I just don't see it being a big record holder. However, like stated, Kings Island could take the longest wooden coaster mileage of any and all parks due to the amount of wooden coasters. So really this coaster isn't a record, but would help produce a record for the park. Theme/Name: I could see this going in a few directions. Lumberjack or something close to logging would be a great name for the coaster from the hints and rumours coming up into now. However, a tree name like Timber_____ would also fit in this coaster. Then of course the animal name would also be fitting, bobcat, wildcat, even sasquatch or big foot would be a great name for this coaster. Note that I have read only small snip its of the decoding, and have virtually been away from the whole ordeal of the internet speculation. These premises are virtually just from the documentation from Mason, the layout seen already, and a small understanding of the PR campaign that has been stirred over the past months.

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
BB1 replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
Over the river and through the woods.... Why do people go to grandma's house, or in this case, the train house? Holidays, and what holiday event is rumoured to come back this year? Winterfest, so it could be a hint for Winterfest and not the said coaster. Logically, a lot of Christmas trees are felled for the holiday season, people travel over rivers and woods to get to relatives, Christmas tree farms have signs that say watch for falling trees, so it could all just be.....a diversion....or maybe this is a diversion, who knows. -

If I remember correctly there is Tin Man and Tropical Depression as two different and separate boats. -
*sigh* A good spiel should be enlightening about ride operations and procedures. While in doing so, the spiel should also maintain professionalism while not breaking the fun environment on any attraction. Some people take it too far, others perfect it to an art form, however it is essential to build a safe and fun environment for the riders so that they could have the best, safe, ride experience. Not to mention that the best spielers, are those who don't get to use a microphone, but have to talk over raging water.

BB1 replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
That was once a boat for some of our late Boomerang Bay enthusiasts. Above the Outback Shack there was a boat with the label of Tropical Depression, after the Soak City renovation you could find this boat during Haunt in Backwoods Bayou. -

Der Spinning Keggers anyone? Just remember a few pickers went across the pond to find a horde of loot for certain Cedar Fair parks....... (If anyone wants an Illuminati style decoding on the barrel tweet, simply ask and thou shalt receive.) -

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
BB1 replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
Plants in Planet Snoopy, p is the first letter of project 2017. Project 2017, happening in River Town, what else is in River Town? The Beast! What is The Beast? A wooden coaster, wooden coasters. What other wooden coasters have been at Kings Island? Son of Beast! Son of Beast, what would be the next in line for a coaster that may or may not be of lineage to The Beast? GrandSon of Beast! Grand Son of Beast starts with the letter G. G, what coaster company starts with the letter G? Great Coasters International! Therefore the Project 2017 must be a wooden GCI that is Grand Son of Beast! All jokes aside, I'm really curious about what Kings Island will pull in the upcoming weeks as enthusiasts will now be almost certain to comb over the whole area in question. Watch little kitten cut outs and litter boxes be spread out over the area, along with a speaker playing kitten meows. -

Plot twist: what if an antique car attraction comes in with a covered bridge? It would make sense with the area and land distribution.
