  1. Now it actually looks like a German festive place instead of Louisiana, I like it better now than the latter, although more rides would be better to make it more of a festival.
  2. What if I were to choose other? Theme in a coaster doesn't exactly has the same implication as those on another end. For example, Diamondback, it has a western coaster station, and a western like gift shop, or possibly The Beast, it has a excellent background and theme to it. You really have to think about polls like this in various conclusions and ideas. So my vote? None of the above
  3. Sure, it has an attraction called "Renegade River" with water features that aren't so lazy, which a bit more lazy of a river called "Main Stream" which still has a bit of splashing to it.
  4. Your experience from Kings Island's Soak City does not speak for all waterparks. But it isn't just from SC, it is GWL, Shlitterbahn (if memory recalls), you name the big shot waterpark, it has something of the sort that I spoke of.
  5. The same could be said for waterparks, it used to be where waterparks had at least one lazy miami, with one or so water jets and etc, now you can see a large move to a not so lazy river with so many jets and water mechanics to where you cannot relax, which from my whole life as a waterpark enthusiast, I took it as that a waterpark is to be a relaxing break from the park, while still bringing a thrill in slides and attractions, when now I see it as a place to where thrills and chills (quite literally) are in full reign and there is little place to relax in the water without water being splashed at you in various directions. Great find Terpy, it gave me some insight I didn't know of about the SFoNE
  6. Less lines make me happier by less time spent waiting in lines, making me be able to ride everything in one day. As well you don't get bumped around in any of the wavepools (Preferably the Great Barrier Reef wavepool, which I don't know the new name), and less wait for waiting for a tube in the lazy miami, which that can be a nightmare. It is good to me when there is less people at the park.
  7. I remember when the slides had simple colors but great colors at that. As well as the lush walkways that I could walk, then there was the walk around the lazy miami, ah the memories of the Paramount era. I remember as a younger BB1, being the most excited of the new waterpark. I went through every part of that place as far as I could, I always liked going to the waterpark. Then I remember going around in the hot concrete feeling like I am going about the outback, which I went to after many visits. Everything was just grand The era of looking at signs that I get and decor that is part of a movie theme, the memories go on. Then when I went to Top Gun it had the best ride quene theme with the props, it was almost like going to MGM only in my own area. Every time I went to HB land I loved it, I would go there even today if I could. The Bat ride was always fun in HB land, and I knew almost every character in the park. I did as well watch Snoopy when I was a younger BB1 too. Then the backwards Racer, I rode that almost every time I got on to The Racer. The one thing I detested about the Paramount era is the extraction of my Taxis, I was saddened about this and I wanted them back, as well as the Eagles, which I did not get to experience, and was missed by many in my family. If only Cedar Fair could somehow bring the Taxis back, or possibly the Eagles back, I will miss them, and always remember them. The past sometimes are the best times in your life
  8. Good and bad in my book of amusement park FUN, with the latter of the SIX. Good in that there would be less people going to Kings Island, and less buzz around Soak City (Which that is just my inner watergoer speaking). Bad in that the Ark Encounter park will now have more competition and would really have to step up more than without the KK. I really hope for the best for both of the parks, although I wouldn't want to be the taxed on that proposal. Having many of my fellow friends being fans of the KK, I wonder how they are acting on such exciting news, I haven't been to the Kingdom, it sounds a bit out of shape, but I am sure when open I may visit one day.
  9. I find The Beast more fun than the Diamondback, although it is a FUN ride, it isn't that fun to me. BB1 the waterpark and Beast enthusiast, welcomes you to KIC.
  10. Leave it to KIC to rant about minor typos, I like it. I find it quite unintelligent of the most intelligent Nat Geo society to have such typos in a small article. I wonder what the first Beast is to them, Son of Beast, then the question would be "Who's the daddy?" .

    Theming

If I remember correctly most of the theming did not go in untill around january, which was under his operation at that moment. Even if he didn't have much, he could have actually made a more congruent theme than what it is now.
  12. I am in between due to the fact that usually I can run in two sizes in two different brands and kinds of shirts. I would pick my choice in shirt size....for the right price.
  13. The same chances of that we may know how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop. The world may never know

    Theming

Personally, I don't expect much theming out of Ouimet. Yes he came from a major themed company, but look at the past make over of the waterpark. I really don't see an exact theme to the place, still I am trying to figure out if it is a miami, Hawaii, or some retro inbetween of Down Under and Pacific rim island. If he was implementing theme, then I should of seen more tropical theme to the place and not just new paint, new neon and garden pipes, and new signs, like I have said before, tikis and other tropical themed items can go a long way in a waterpark. Now of course I am a waterpark enthusiast and probably one of the only people to see the minor details more than others, but some things can go a long way. (Details make the artwork) With that, can Mr. Ouimet implement theme into the parks of Cedar Fair? Of course, he has the correct background and right foot steps to become the theme maker of Cedar Fair, which coming from the past of Cedar Fair, theme is only needed at Haunt, and placed lightly where needed in other times. Now if he were to, what would I expect in the theme? Let's start on the park in general, I believe more theme will be placed into the park where needed and when it comes to happen, like the Action Zone renovation that may come in the near future(hoping!). Now to the rides, again it can placed when needed, and if the ride needs new theme it will be there. The rides will probably get more into a story line and probably have more backbone (theming) to the ride than the latter Cedar Fair.
  15. I would like a new wooden roller coaster yes, it does seem like wooden coasters are making a come back in the theme park industry. I believe that with Cedar Fair, we may just get a roller coaster, but the chances of a wooden coaster is 1-(insert how many kind of coasters there are here) now and I don't think any "Son of Beast 2.0" or "The Revenge of the Son of Beast" would come out from such company. Sorry stalin, your idea is beginning to stall, and it may become spam.
  16. I knew of some of these past rides, The Beastly Kingdom I believe from a few people at the park or a book I read in the past. I find it amusing how the Hollywood Tower Hotel still has guests dropping in.
  17. By far, out of all of the eras that have been around for that coaster, The Beastie era was one of the greatest personally, the tunnel just made me want to ride again, and again until I couldn't anymore, but sadly that era has long been gone from us, and I am personally wanting a return. BB1 who doesn't always like the color blue on coasters. Ironically if you think about it, in a way, The Beast has only one son now.
  18. Well, today I will tell you all about a early spring dream that I had last night. It was the opening day, it was partly cloudy, but warm enough for shorts (Mid 60's-latter 70's I suppose). We began to go to The Beast, already in operation for the past ten minutes, we got on rather quickly. The Beast was all the same, but at one point not, the breaking area was not in function, instead it went through almost like a pre-lift hill SOB, and ran right under the station. We began to exit and notice a snoopy sign over the enterance, something about P&G. After we began to go around and see the sights, and then I woke up soon after. Why exactly did I have this dream? Probably due to me talking about it for a hour.
  19. I like the selection on this page on post 75, I think it looks great for KIC.
  20. I have heard occasionally that BB1 likes Soak City.......I'll leave that for a fanboy to decide (BB1 does have fans ironically).
  21. Wait, the Dippin' Dots guy doesn't know everything? He said that we were going to have a BB 2.0 in 2014, BB1, a sad man. I have heard that there are ghosts at Kings Island, especially during September till October, it really heats up then supposedly.
  22. If and when I go, I will be referring to this more often. Although I do expect a foggy mountain breakdown, or is it smoky? With that, I would also like to go to the waterpark, I have heard that it is not that bad, and themed well.
  23. What is done, is done, what comes, comes, and we can only not buy the product if we don't like it, or do buy the product if one does like it. BB1 who is not going to rant about it, and just state the facts. We all get "good things" from CF once in awhile, some of us do hate it, but live with it, I know I have.
  24. I would say that guest said one of the darnest things at KI..
  25. It's ironic how something that is intended for people to be happy about, makes people rant and angry.
