  1. I thought it seemed like a great event, and it should be brought back. EDIT: It would be interesting, though, since the park only has one Beast.
  2. ^^Wouldn't they have to take apart the break run somewhat manually because of the walkways underneath?
  3. I felt like I should post the story. It was mid-season 2007. My family had just gotten off of Delirium, and my dad wanted to ride Sonny. When no one in my family said they wanted to go with him, I manned up and volunteered to go. I was hyping up the ride to my dad and telling him how great it was going to be. After about a half-hour wait, we finally got on one of the back seats. We went down the first tiny hill and went around the turn to the lift hill. I was crying (hey, I was only 11!) and told my dad that I hated him and to get me off of the ride. When we crested and made the turn around, I was just in awe of the massive structure of SoB. We went down the first hill and I was neither happy or sad. As the ride progressed, I started to enjoy it and I put my hands up at about the point where the loop used to be. I absolutely loved it, and I wanted to go again with my dad someday in the future. If it were still open during the 2012 season, though, I believe that I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much, being that I am 6'4" tall, 210 pounds. That memory is still the best memory I have ever had at Kings Island.
  4. My first and only ride on it with my dad. A good story and great father-son bonding.
  5. Looks like there's some dummies in the seats. EDIT: Post 300!
  6. WAY off-topic, but Mr. Christopher, I enjoy your profile image every time I see it.
  7. My friend counts all of the different violations he sees as he and I walk around the park. For example, someone sitting on the handrails or not wearing proper clothing. I think he said that for 5 visits this year he counted over 300.
  8. SoB because of memories with my dad. I wish I would have rode TR:TR though. It sounds like it was an amazing ride.
  9. Honestly, I'm happy with the rides that we have now, and I'm okay with KI not getting any new rides for 2013. We have 14 great coasters, many family rides, awesome thrill rides, a dino attraction, and an awesome water park. That's enough for me!
  10. Probably because of the size of the lift hill. It's much bigger than everything else they've demolished, and probably has the most wood of any section of SoB. I would think that they have to clean up the wood first before demolishing again.
  11. ^There's also some stuff from Nick out between SoB and GWL.
  12. I gotta stop reading this thread. My head hurts after too many facepalms.
  13. Good imagination, but they've tried it before, and it wasn't successful. I might be in the minority here, but I wouldn't go to Kings Island to walk around and see "Festival of LIghts - KI version." Last winter, my ex-girlfriend and I went to the Festival of Lights. We circled the zoo three or four times within 90 minutes, when on a summer visit to the Zoo it might take 2 to 3 hours just for one trip around. Plus, this is Cincinnati. It would be too cold (at least for me) to drive 45 minutes to KI just to see Santa, some lights, and a possible ride on FoF. It can be done, The Beach and The Zoo have done it successfully many times before. It just hasn't worked before at KI, and probably would be too costly to try again.
  14. Yeah, it's gone. Rider Height Requirements doesn't have Thunder Alley anymore.
  15. I'm not so sure about Thunder Alley being done. It's still an attraction on the website. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/things-to-do/family-rides bottom of the page.
  16. That was pretty cool to watch. Somewhat sad as well.
  17. The Wood Party's Response: "We disowned the Son of The Beast 12 years ago, allowing him to break himself out of his cage in Action Zone and wreak havoc on the general public. He was finally tracked down and in the process of being euthanized at the moment. The Beast feels no sorrow towards his son, knowing that it was a foolish mistake he made in his early 20's."
  18. Wow, these comments are great! Diamondback's running mate, Vortex, is rumored to be impeached soon, something about sinking is causing him losses in popularity.
  19. They might be old-fashioned, but they've worked for a looong time! Wood Party 2012.

  21. Oh yeah, that would be cool. I'm not sure how realistic this would be, but is there a way to make a longer Haunt maze? Most of the Haunts are only five to ten minutes long, which is fine for the quantity of Haunts. But I know that, for example, the USS Nightmare and The Dent Schoolhouse both take about 30 minutes to go through. Not sure how realistic this is at KI, but maybe...?
