Oh, let the speculation begin...

I hope some of the theming for Adventure Express can be redone, like the spears in the first tunnel. I wouldn't mind some additional theming on DB too, although I don't know what could be done there.

4/5/2013 - Cincinnati Reds vs. Washington Nationals TR
Diamondbacker replied to Diamondbacker's topic in Trip Reports
Barehanded, he soft tossed it to me. He's awesome. -
I went to the Reds game last Friday against the Nationals. We went on my aunt's company night, and they had seats under the smokestacks in center field. We sat two rows behind the fence and had a great view of all the homeruns leaving the yard. My family and I got there just as the Reds were about to bat in the bottom of the first. As I walked around, I noticed five new things around the park. 1.) There are two Frisch's Big Boy Concession Stands which looked as if they were pretty successful. 2.) There are three rows of new seats over the visitor's bullpen. 3.) There is a giant neon Budweiser sign in the field concourse. I believe this is a league-wide development, as multiple ballparks like Toronto's Rogers Centre were also sporting the same sign. 4.) There are substantial price rises in many things around the ball park. For example, the Kroger Meal Deal went up from $7 to $9. 5.) The Reds Car Race and Mr. Red's Race have been combined into one. Other than that, it was a chilly but great night for baseball. With the Reds winning 15-0 against a "top" team in the NL, it was great. Plus, Shin Soo Choo threw me the ball he had been tossing to Jay Bruce before the 8th inning. It was my first ball caught. I ended up giving it to my little cousin who was sitting behind me and didn't have a chance to catch it. The Reds will be a top contender for the World Series this year. Choo is a great addition, and if they aren't plagued by injuries, they'll be fine. I will go even as far as to say that Heisey deserves a chance to challenge Ludwick (when he comes back) for the starting role.

My perfect KI is a kids area with a healthy mix of Nickelodeon and Hanna Barbera in the kids area with The Beastie. I also envision KC:KC and a Ferris Wheel.

Fast Lane "Plus" Comes to some of the Cedar Fair Parks
Diamondbacker replied to CoasterGeek101's topic in Kings Island
I think some of you guys are missing the point here. Cedar Fair is a business who has to make money to succeed. By offering this option to parkgoers, they're trying to make money in order to make their product better and to give you and me, parkgoers both, the "best day of the year." Sure, no one likes prices to be raised or marked up, but people will eventually buy it. For example, Chipotle raised their burrito prices 3(?) years ago by 30-40 cents. Sure, I wasn't happy about it, but my love of Chipotle burritos eventually won over and now I buy them again. Also, a lot of you guys are mad about the price hike, but you don't have to buy it. Just because you attend the park on June 24th, 2013 doesn't mean you will be forced to purchase Fast Lane and Fast Lane Plus. To summarize: CF is giving people the option to buy a paper wristband which gives you the opportunity to skip to the front of the line on two world-class rides for 10 dollars more than the original paper wristband for all of the other rides. People will buy it, and not everyone has to. -
I'd like to move the name of Rivertown to only the area by Beast and the train, and put in a new name for the Diamondback area.

I'm glad they're going back to "vintage" Kings Island like Mr. Helbig said. I can't wait for the season...
-
Apparently not, because your post was removed.

I have friends who are girls...if that counts for anything!

That would be well appreciated by all.

We're in the depths of the offseason now, ladies and gentlemen(or ladycoasters and gentlecoasters, I guess).

Guys, thanks for coming to my defense, but HTCO was only making a joke. (By the way, I liked the meme. Even though it was about me, I still laughed ) I'm only human, I make mistakes, and others are allowed to take notice of my mistakes with great Bill O'Reilly memes. Captain Nemo, your picture is really great. Thanks for posting it here.

I never really knew how close AE was to Sonny until I saw the demo photos. It's going to be neat this season to see in person just how much space that coaster took up.

I'm getting to the point where I can barely fit my knees under the seat restraints as I'm getting in. I absolutely love the ride, though. I totally freaked out my little brother last year by asking him where all the people went right before we got on.
-
I don't understand why some are making a huge deal about the so-called long walk to Flight Deck. I believe that area in the back of the park where you're secluded from the regular screams coming from the other rides is so peaceful and also somewhat pretty too. Enjoy nature! Love the trees!

How Many Visits Did You Make to Kings Island in 2012?
Diamondbacker replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
Yeah I know. I didn't have last year's schedule to count the exact number of days they were open last year, so I just used the regular seven days of the week. Thank you. That does sound about right, Even if the open park days were sketchy. I know they weren't open for all of those days, but they were open on weekends or for a full week for that period of time last year. -
The Italian Job: Stunt Track

So Terp was wrong? -
Yeah, that's a great idea! I think it would definitely help to cope with the offseason blues. Some starter facts(world records are for woodies): First Drop - 214 ft. tall (world record) Second Drop - 164 ft. tall (world record at the time) Only A Looping Wooden Coaster Ever (loop was 118 ft. tall) Speed - 78 mph (world record) Length - 7,032 ft. (second longest to Beast) EDIT: Thanks to goodyellowkorn182. EDIT 2: Thanks to Interpreter.

How Many Visits Did You Make to Kings Island in 2012?
Diamondbacker replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
Okay, so KI was open from 4/28/2012 to 10/28/2012, correct? KI was open for business for approximately 27 weeks and one day. 27 x 7 = 189 + 1 = 190/10 = 19 visits to KI. Does that sound about right? -
Not too sure, but I presume that this rule is in place so that the guests can go to enjoy themselves/spend money possibly at other areas in the park. Other ideas?
-
It sounds like a good idea, but it's just not cost efficient for KI. Those Fast Lane wristbands cost $50 with only a limited amount of them available, and they only gave them out to people who reached a certain level on the FUN Perks program. Even though Cedar Fair's motto is "Best day of the year," they can't be pandering to guests who think that by waiting 90 minutes for a ride only to see it shut down that they are entitled to compensation for their "troubles".

Seriously, we haven't even passed Valentine's Day yet, and we're talking about Halloween?
