  1. I was there yesterday. It opened at about 4.
  2. I loved the first drop. I can't exactly remember how much airtime I got, but I think it was somewhere above Beast's airtime. Going down that fast on a woodie is something that I'm sure we'll never see again.
  3. I tried the new burrito at Hank's. It was really good. The salsa was a nice kick, the chicken was flavorful, and it was a pretty good-sized burrito. It was only $7.49, which was a deal comparing to $6.30 at Chipotle and Qdoba. Overall, Hank's Burrito Shack gets an 8/10. I felt like the building still had an "Outer Hank's" feel to it. Also, the only hot sauce they had was Skyline hot sauce, along with ketchup and mustard. The Skyline hot sauce is great, but not exactly on a burrito. Maybe they could invest in a few Tabasco bottles.
  4. This hereby starts the "Battle of the Islands" series of polls. I have not been to Coney/KI since last season, but I went to a show at each "island", and I have to say, each were great. I pose the question to you now, KICentral: Which island's live entertainment is better? Kings Island comes out in 2012 with British Invasion(new), Ed Alonzo's magic show, PEANUTS Party in the Plaza, Remember When: the 70's, Charlie Brown's All Stars, American Country, and Hot Summer Nights, Coney Island will have Pop Sensations (songs from Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, etc.), Music Legends (Madonna, Michael Jackson, Elvis, etc.), and Mardi Gras Kids Parade.
  5. If only people took commercials for what they are supposed to be used - as advertisements. Not hints at SoB, not hints at a new anything, just an advertisement for a company. Example: Bud Light Super Bowl XLVI commercial with Wego the rescue dog in it. Most of the viewers of that commercial did not think that anything new was being introduced from Bud Light. They took it as a funny advertisement commercial. Not that the Thrills Connect advertisement is actually funny, but we should take it for what it is - an advertisement.
  6. It would be the cheapest food in the park. With your thimble-ful of water, you'd be getting an easy free meal.
  7. So no new coaster there for 2013 in that area of the park...is CP going to give up the 'Coaster Capital of the World' title?
  8. Your Son of Beast? Couldn't resist. You picked up on the pun! Thanks.
  9. Wow, so we're gonna be getting free thimble-fuls of water?!?!? Sounds great though. Can't wait for Saturday!
  10. Don't you mean Magic Kingdom? Yes. The only time I ever went to Magic Kingdom was when I was 7. My memory is a little hazy.
  11. So during the day Saturday is a bad time to go? Uh oh. Oh well. Can't wait for my own opening day!
  12. Oh, I see your point. So you can say that Firehawk is, in essence, a inverted coaster?
  13. Kings Island: Vortex Coney Island: (Cincinnati) Zoom Flume (RIP) Stricker's Grove: Tornado Disneyworld Animal Kingdom: Haunted Mansion I need to visit more parks.
  14. On Flight Deck, the ride ops are always saying that it is "the only suspended coaster at Kings Island." Then riddle me this: what about Invertigo and Flying Ace Aerial Chase? Aren't the trains suspended to the track on those rides as well? I know that these trains don't swing like FD, but they are suspended somewhat.
  15. Uhhh...no. Simple talk from simple people - new motto of KI employees.
  16. That signage choice for the red and yellow is quite awkward.
  17. Well, Invertigo, Drop Tower, and Flight Deck have all received paint jobs lately, with the most noticeable being Invertigo. So for right now, as I have said before, Action Zone is probably done in receiving a makeover, with the exception for SoB. I can understand the statement about SoB needing to be removed. Hopefully, you don't think its out of repair because a boy with highlighter hair told you that while riding Flight Deck he saw supports on the track.
  18. Like Colonel_SOB_Fan said, don't take your children. The mazes and monsters will be too much for them. I would suggest going early on one of those Saturdays or Sundays during Haunt season. Howl-O-Fest is lightly attended. Last year, if you paid the $5 upcharge for Dinosaurs Alive!, the children going through the display could go trick-or-treating. That sounded like a blast to me. If I had the choice between Haunt and Howl-O-Fest, and I was with my little brothers/sister, I'd go Howl-O-Fest. As I said before, this event is lightly attended, as many families are at soccer or football games with their children. Planet Snoopy is wide open, as well as the rest of the park.
  19. Oh, by the way, Sundays aren't too bad. You picked a good day to go! Tell us when you're coming, maybe a few of us 'natives' can welcome you to Kings Island!
  20. That would be a British Catastrophe...
  21. I think that this should have been the case. I know that computer-based drawings are much cheaper and much easier, it would have been nice to see a hand-drawn map of the current park.
  22. That is so awesome that "The English Are Coming" to KI! Here's a big ride run-down for you, with 3 being Must-Ride, 2 being Try To Ride It and 1 being If You Have Time. Invertigo: 3 - only face-to-face coaster in the Midwest! Drop Tower: 2 - good adrenaline rush Delirium: 2 - one of the best flats at the park. Swings you at a 135o angle while spinning! Flight Deck: 1 - KI's only suspended coaster. Adventure Express: 1 - fun family coaster with no big dr-, well, you'll see. Racer: 2 - Started the wooden coaster rebirth in the 1970s. Flight of Fear: 3 - indoor dark coaster. You don't know whether you're upside down or not! Firehawk: 2 - first flying coaster at KI, but breaks down a lot, with very, very long lines. WindSeeker: 2 - basically, you spin around in a circle 92 m high. Vortex: 3 - first ever coaster with six inversions! The Beast: 3 - hidden from sight except for the first lift hill, you don't know whats coming next. Ride at night for best experience. Diamondback: 3 - the tallest (70 m), fastest (129 km/h) coaster at KI! Backlot Stunt Coaster: 1 - fun little coaster with speed.
  23. Good report! I just wish someone had a picture of the Crypt cover-up. That's just too sad.
