  1. I believe they were interconnected somehow but I will let a more experienced and knowledgable poster answer that. I also found two interesting videos about Kings Island under Carl Lindner on Sean Flaharty's Youtube Channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJqO8J-sPaA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PdigZarA1c
  2. I feel like Cedar Fair needs to invest a little bit more into Kings Island in some areas. For the first time since the Great Recession it is looking like our attendance is going to drop(Dont take my statement for sure but the numbers are showing.) While Carowinds gets a huge waterpark expansion(and after a huge rollercoaster addition) and Cedar Point gets a new huge rollercoaster Valvran we are just stuck with a new slide complex and new parking tolls, I hope we get something more thrilling next year even though the slide complex was very much needed in Soak City. I hope we get more investment in 2017.
  3. The one that surprises me the most is that WindSeeker is 5 years old, wow it is going to be five years since I got back into theme parks with my August 2011 visit to Kings Island, the first time since 2005. 2005 was ten years ago.... Then 2017 will hit me like a ton of bricks with 2012 being five years ago . I cannot wait for next season. I will hopefully visit the park much more than I did in 2015 in 2016.....
  4. This winter may be different than others for Disneyland. The strongest El Nino in 50 years is taking shape, even stronger than the $69 billion Super El Nino of 1997-1998. This means that California will have MUCH more of a chance to have a VERY rainy winter, a very very rainy winter if it turns out like the 1997-1998 one. This probably could affect the construction schedule too since flooding is much more of a possibillity. It looks like this park will have an even greater lineup next year!
  5. Wow.... how times change!!!! Who wouldve known a year later after the last post....... This has some very interesting information so thats why I bumped this topic for you all! Maybe with The Interpreter being right about Geuaga Lake he could be right about Kentucky Kingdom.....
  6. My favorite tradition is that we always spend time with at least one side of either my moms or dads family(Last two were moms, this and probably next are my dads) Oh and watching Its a Wonderful Life every Thanksgiving weekend since 2003!
  7. Key word is "might". ^^^^ Kentucky Kingdom will still be here next season, however the election results make 2017 more foggy.
  8. Double post Diamondback entering power hour. It was great!
  9. I am glad to say that I will break my 85 day streak of no theme parks today at Kings Island! I hope I have a great time and if any of you guys see me just say hi!
  10. For some reason it is black...... your good though! Im not well traveled as I have only been to four parks in my life, so I really dont have anything new except that I visited Busch Gardens this year.
  11. Has to be by far the best first post/thread I have seen on this website, thank you! Sort of like 9/11 jumpers/victims, knowing the full story behind the victims of horrible attrocities really humanizes the whole thing.
  12. This photo really remind me of Ed Hart standing in front of Chang in late 1996/early 1997. I hope to ride this ride next year!!
  13. Your good. I actually started using the old theme again due to issues of people viewing my Busch Gardens trip report Part 2, oh the irony! You arent alone.
  14. 46 days and counting.. the last time I have been to a theme park...
  15. Even when we passed through that city at 3:50 am on our way down to Florida..... There. Was. Still. Traffic. I could just imagine living their. [emoji37] Washington DC had some very bad traffic as well during the three days I was there on a school trip in April of 2014. Interstate 66 is just the worst. Cincys traffic is not nearly as bad as any city. Tampa however is way worse than Washington, it took me and my brother, about 2 HOURS to travel from Busch Gardens Tampa to Sand Key Florida, which would normally only take about an hour. And this was around 4:30 pm. I haven't been to a theme park since Busch Gardens and I'm really starting to miss them. I need to go to Kings Island soon.
  16. And from comparison now I look a lot different. You all haven't seen me in two years so I guess you can see me in the virtual world now. [emoji3]
  17. Thank you! I just remember reading that on someones early 2000s trip report and just remembered it. Would've like to have experienced what 10 days without trim brakes would be.
  18. Son of Beast, how misunderstood. You could've been a superstar but your loyal follower turned out to be a a shrieking Banshee. [emoji39][emoji23] I heard there was one year in the early 2000s either 2001 or 2002 when The Beast had no trims at all due to the skid brakes in the process of being replaced. Is this true or was it just a rumor?
  19. I think there used to be fog as a thematic element, but I will wait for another more expereienced and knowledgable member to answer for sure!
  20. I joined when I was just 12 years old in April of 2012, so yeah I was too young too. Sorry guys for being embarassing. The tradition still seems to be living on, and I hope it does for the foreseeable future.
  21. Omg..... I am so short in that image..... At least 8 inches taller now.. man 2012 felt like yesterday. For those wondering the one in the Reds jacket is me....
  22. I read through the Kumbak page and found this part of the September issue of Amusment Today VERY interesting. Good news for those worried about T3's capacity.
  23. If they ever decided to RMC The Beast, you would probably face a huge public outcry on your hands by the locals of Cincinnati. To most in our area, The Beast is like a right of passage that has been passed down from generation to generation, and lets hope it keeps that way. RMC Conversion Checklist Is The Beast very rough, shuffling, or just plain out a horrible coaster? No.(Though to a vocal minority, yes) Is it more expensive to maintain than the ridership or popularity the ride recieves? No. Are there parts of the ride that need Topper Track? Some could make the argument for that but in my opinion, no. Would there be Public Outcry over the "new for 2016, IRON BEAST" announcement to the point that the ride would be saved (Sort of how The Whizzer was to be replaced with S:UF but they decided on Shockwave due to the immense outcry over removing it, even though I think they had different reasons for removing Shockwave.....) Definitely yes. Would the ride require massive renovations that are too expensive to be a spectacular ride? It already is a great ride and it probably would cost less than 5 million dollars for The Beast to be "running like it was in the 1980s."(I think it is fine just the way it is) The Beast fails the checklist with flying colors. I hope to never see the day it will be torn down, but there is nothing I can do about that.
  24. Wish I could come, unfortunately I have school... Have fun whoever is going to the shoot!
