  1. And The Bat's exit path could be a secret area, not unlike stumbling upon Peach's Castle (from Super Mario 64) on one of the older games
  2. That is a really good point; I didn't think about all the things that would have to be monitored and sanitized.
  3. More anniversary info possibly (as the big celebration got pushed back a year due to the pandemic)? Or a second season of Forbidden Frontier? Or it could be a ride removal.... Who knows, but that teaser is sounding a little nostalgic
  4. Also, this: Lagoon is open... sorta... It will be interesting to see how KI handles Single Riders as I am one most of the time. Also, KIC takeovers of rides may be a thing of the past for a while... I'm cool with that as long as I get to ride The Bat (and Orion) soon! Though I'll probably have to wait longer than most since I have lung issues (also the wait will give me a chance to see how the park will operate under these conditions), I know it'll be worth it in the end!
  5. As an update to Kenwood Towne Center re-opening, it looks like a lot more stores have opened since I last posted: https://www.kenwoodtownecentre.com/en/directory/open-stores.html Still no Macy's, though... Also, I did something fairly rare for me last night in light of this pandemic... I ordered something over the phone. Instead of going to Half Price Books and browsing (which I would normally do), I called to see if they had two items I was looking for. I ended up ordering one of the items, which will be shipped to the store for me to pick up. I say this is rare for me to do this as I usually will shop online or go in store to shop for things I want (and if it's not in store, I would request it at the service counter). I think one of the only other times I've ordered a product over the phone was when I called Cedar Point to have that Rougarou shirt sent to me a while back.
  6. Another point to consider besides storage... what if one doesn't have a smartphone to put the app on? I'm currently writing this post on a tablet (which I could theoretically bring into the park as it amazingly fits in the front pocket of my cargo shorts) and I choose to use a flip phone. However, what about people who don't have any type of "smart device" with apps? Something to think about...
  7. I never knew that dealerships take their overflow inventory to closed businesses; makes sense though - they've got to go somewhere... Also, Kenwood Towne Center opens today, with new policies and an absymal number of stores/locations open (mostly restaurants) https://www.kenwoodtownecentre.com/en/directory/open-stores.html
  8. That was amazing! Quite a few familar faces!
  9. IIRC correctly, I paid about $69 to go to the last* Warped Tour 2 years ago. Though I saw a lot of bands and really enjoyed myself (also ran into @stashua123 and other people I knew, including a (now former) coworker), the highlight of my day was running into Chris Burney (Bowling for Soup's guitarist) before the show; I was starstruck as seeing/meeting BFS was one of the main reasons I was there. And yes, I went to the meet and greet after their show and gave Chris a hug, which was awesome! And that was worth the price of admission**! *They kept saying it was the "last ever" (annual) Warped Tour", but they had a 30th anniverary tour with 3 dates literally a year later. ** Also, $69 for a day of fun seeing 30+ bands on different stages is actually not a bad deal. However, I realize paying that much with the intention of only seeing one band (though I did also catch Simple Plan (and met them), 3OH3, and a few other acts) is a little crazy. But hey, that's just me lol. EDIT: Also, you met Taylor Swift and her mom? Cool!
  10. So I guess this comfirms no Forbidden Frontier this year? Sadly, I don't know if it will come back at all considering it got mixed reviews last year and it probably won't open this year because of the Pandemic. On a postive note, my Forbidden Frontier t-shirt may be worth something someday (though I still plan to keep it for as long as I can)! Also, if Cedar Point does open, I would still love to go if only to ride Millennium Force for its 20th anniversary! Speaking of anniversaires, it makes sense they are pushing the celebrations back - the 150th was originally going to last 2 years anyway, correct? Also, I wonder if they have any 20th anniversary merch for MF still even though they are scaling down this year? Finally, it looks ike I'll have to check to see what rides are actually open before I go. I've heard that Rougarou sometimes doesn't operate on Friday nights of Halloweekends.
  11. Speaking of the new normal... do ride reservation systems prevent one from "marathoning" a ride? I know Disney parks has both Fastpass and standby lines, but if a ride reservation system comes to the Cedar Fair parks, there probably won't be a standby line for a while because social distancing. Just something to think about...
  12. Why hasn't Pokemon capitalized on this yet? I would love a Toxicroak, Roserade or Muk mask. Heck, even one of the Gym Leaders (Koga) is a ninja wearing a mask and there are "Ninja Boy" trainers in the games! These type of Pokemon themed masks practically sell themselves (see also Greninja, Pikachu and Eevee)! Get on it Ninetendo lol And I saw Disney's masks online - they look cool, but no Pete (or other obscure characters I would be interested in wearing a mask of). Also, it looks like they only come in a 4 pack.
  13. Technically, Possessed and V2/Flash (whatever they are calling it these days lol) are different as V2 has that elongated spiral (because SFDK's height restriction) and Possessed has a normal one, but I get your point. Though it would probably never happen, I'd be esctatic if Possessed came to KI for 2021, especially considering the ride's history. Like I mentioned in another thread, if that landed in Action Zone, I would be spending a good chunk of my day over there.
  14. Thanks for sharing those two videos; it's making the (re-extended) offseason a little easier! The 2003 one makes me miss riding Delirium and the 2006 video has some funny moments, like Sonic seemingly distraught that he can't ride Top Gun and the guy saying "aww" when seeing Homer Simpson on the roof of Tower Drinks lol. Also, this gem when talking about an indoor waterpark (maybe Castaway Bay near CP?) "I'm not paying $200 a night... to take a bath" Also, another thing I noticed was the billboard map the front gate for Fearfest; not sure they'd do that any more... Finally, an interesting comment when fillming the Scooby Doo Meet and Greet in 2003: "In 20 years, we'll look back on this...". Yup!
  15. True, true. RIP to those rides. Also, I never knew Shipwrecked Falls got relocated; I've never heard of a water ride like that being relocated before.
  16. So, there are a group of reporter trainers you can battle in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and after the battle, they ask you to give your thoughts on the battle. In honor of COVID-19... Happy Friday, everyone! EDIT: It may be hard to read, but the text says: The Trainer replied, "Stay-at-Home"
  17. in all seriousness, that may be a good idea; have a giant mirror maze and you have to figure out when you are going to look in the mirror and see someone else lol Also, another "social distancing" idea... what if they sent people in only one or two people at a time. It will kill capacity, but it may up the scare factor. On Opening Night 2018, I got to go through Slaughter House by myself and that was really cool.
  18. I think I was in Cavern that night. If so, I don't remember crowds being too bad all at once (probably because people move more cautiously in the darkness- I know I have!). Also, the most crowded I have seen KI was Mystic Timbers preview night. My gosh, that was crazy, and I don't have a fear of large crowds... Also, when I can go to the parks again, I will defieintly wear a mask if required. However, I did not know you lose oxygen when wearing a mask for long periods (quoting that article above); since I have lung issues already, I might just have to wait it out... Finally, it may be smarter for Soak City not to open, at least not right away, until everything else is under control. EDIT: If we are talking about the weekend prior to Columbus Day, then I would have been in Field (it was the weekend after that I was placed in Cavern for the night), and IIRC, we had LOGJAMS during our busiest times lol.
  19. So, on the flip side of things, apparently many things in Piegeon Forge (TN) will starting opening back up May 1st: https://themeparkuniversity.com/theme-parks-101/pigeon-forge-tennessee-to-be-first-tourism-destination-in-united-states-reopening-on-may-1st/
  20. Another effect of the coronavirus - Barnes and Noble has (temporarily) stopped selling magazines: https://nypost.com/2020/03/31/barnes-noble-stops-selling-magazines-while-coronavirus-rages/
  21. While this doesn't have to do with theme parks, I find it really cool that musicians are using this opportunity to perform sets from the comfort of their homes. Last night, I watched an acoustic version of Keiino's "Spirit in the Sky", which I thought was really cool. Other bands and artists, like Jeremy Camp (along with his wife and kids), and For King and Country are doing sets like this and I think it's a great idea at a time like this! Bowling for Soup is doing actual paid virtual shows that are advertised through the BandsinTown app and are run through a site called StageIt, where you have to sign up for an account and pay actual money for a ticket. Overall, I think this is cool how bands and artists are adapting to these challenging times we live in! Here's to more positive (and unique) contributions to be made admist the pandemic.
  22. Make sure to let me know when this is happening so I'm not on the Tower at that time lol. While that may be cool to some, that would terrify me having to walk down all those steps from such a great height. I remember seeing a video someone filmed at the top of Kingda Ka and I'm like "Nope!"(they were harnessed, but still). I think the highest up you could get me would be part of the way up The Bat or Beast's lift or to the top of Adventure Express's lift. Now that I think about it, it would be really cool to explore the forest around/under Adventure Express...
  23. I'm off most social media as well. Besides having an account here, I have a Youtube account (I don't make videos, but I can "Like", Subscribe and comment on videos if I so choose) and I'm on LinkedIN. I gave up Snapchat, Twitter and Facebook and I'm glad I did. However, I know I'm on Youtube a lot but I guess one could consider that the new TV lol (not that I'm making excuses). More on topic, I'm curious what businesses will be deemed essential. I know it'll be a while before I start going out due to having a health condition that would be further impacted by COVID-19, but at the same time, I would really like a haircut lol. It will also be nice to go to book stores (and eventually places like the malls and Kings Island) again, but I know I'll have to wait a while for those to open.
  24. I think walkthrough attractions are cool. They are a nice break from the rest of the day (see Dinosaurs Alive) and offer something different. The next step up from a basic walk through attraction would be immersive experinces like Haunt mazes or Forbidden Frontier at Cedar Point. Though I heard Forbidden Frontier was getting mixed reviews, I absolutely loved it! It was so great to interact with all the characters and explore Adventure Island!
  25. I thought of a great idea for Haunt in light of COVID-19 and social distancing. Instead of the regular amount of mazes, they could have 1 big outdoor maze alongside a few of the more popular indoor mazes (like Slaughterhouse, Killmart and Chaos). The big outdoor maze could be in the woods, possibly be an upcharge and combine features of mazes that didn't make it into the 2020 lineup as well as showcase features of past mazes (as 2020 is Haunt/Fearfest's 20 anniversary, after all). Even if Haunt goes as planned, I wonder if there will be something done for the 20th anniversary?
