Rivertown's been having many a problems as of late. Diamondback's recent streak of frequent 20(give or take a few) minute breakdowns, The Beast being up and down, and, well, The Crypt (but that's a whole other matter).

If you want to get as close as you can to X-Base, go to the location directly behind the elevator entrances. This is as close as you will get to Coney/X. Keep in mind that there is no security guard to lift the rope immediately, so you will have to climb over it. Also, you will not be able to walk along the left side of International Street, so you will have to walk along the right side (the side tha connects to Planet Snoopy and Rivertown). Also keep in mind that if you have ANY carryon items (omit glasses and souvenier cups), you will be forced to buy a locker. NO EXCEPTIONS. I would have 2 dollars ready at rope drop so it will be easier to rent a locker. Also, Flight of Fear does assign for seating, although the seperators are generally very nice and accomodating of your request. Hope you have a great day!

But what if the reason is the lift chain will not run, or the trim brake won't close (on Diamondback)? Will the park be afraid of responses?

It only angers the customers. When you are in line for a coaster and it suddenly breaks down, wouldn't you want to know why? Saying you have gastro-intestinal problems is a lot more personal than is "Diamondback is down for X reason(s)." I don't see how giving the guests in line the reason a ride is down is forbidden. Although, I do see how the park may not know about it at the time.

Like Hufflepuff? Or Ravenclaw? I thought your personal favorite was taken in to consideration, as well.

I have no idea what is happening with Diamondback. It's had a lot of small "technical difficulties" since the beginning of this month / late last month. The reasons have not been disclosed, but I have gone twice within last week and every time I was in line, it went down. Why doesn't the park disclose why rides are closed?

BB1, where have you seen wood on Diamondback, Flight of Fear, Firehawk, etc's control panels?

There are 3 levels of Kings Island season passes. The lowest is a Season Pass. It is blue and has a picture of Invertigo on it. The pass only offers admission to the park through Labor Day Weekend. The next highest up is the Gold Pass. This is gold and has a picture of Vortex. It has more perks, including free parking and admission to the park all year long (valid thru Haunt, unlike the Season Pass). The highest is the Platinum Pass. At Kings Island, this gets you free admission and free parking at ALL Cedar Fair properties all year long, as well as special discounts.

Well, at least you will remember it! "Weee--Aww."

I, too, love your Trip Reports. I wish you could write more of them, as each and every one of them is unique, but your passion for the park always shines through. I wish you could have experienced Xtreme Skyflyer with a couple other friends. I don't think I would have enjoyed my first ride without my 2 friends. Although, the same rule applies to many a roller coaster and flat ride. Thanks for the pictures. Glad you had a great first time on your first Skycoaster, glad you had a FUN time at Kings Island, and a waterful day at Soak City!

Please don't remove what is left of a scenic area. It has so much potential. Plus, I wouldn't necessarily want something towering literally over the Oktoberfest midways as well as Adventure Express. It would also ruin Coney Mall's atmosphere.
