  1. ^Which Crypt do you speak of? If it could be any ride (past or present--or even future!), I would have chosen Kings Island's late Crypt. But alas, I tried to keep everything "current" so to speak. Threads like these I loathe, as my picks are subject to change at any time. Only a few are constant, like The Crypt, Adventure Express, and our beloved log flume. The others are "fillers", I suppose you could say, as I love every ride and would love to find every ride I have ridden in a single park. I find 10 a bit limited. With a park, you would need thrilling flats and not so thrilling flats, huge and thrilling coasters, and mild and tame coasters. Not to mention the seemingly endless variety of coasters / flats, and you can see how hard threads like these are for me, as well as ranking my favorites.
  2. And I'm not gonna cancel the chocolates. Someone's gotta eat 'em.
  3. Yeah, I hate using formulas in Mrs. Rossa's class, too.

  5. 1. Adventure Express 2. Georgia Scorcher 3. Flight of Fear (KI) 4. Raging Bull 5. The recaR 6. Kings Mills Log Flume--I call it that as everything was natural, no association with Planet Snoopy, water wheel, and NO SPITTING BEAGLE! 7. Maverick 8. The Crypt (Kings Dominion) 9. Thunderhead/Skyhawk 10. Viking Fury
  6. I love Drop Tower's music! Mainly because I love the drummer and I love Van Halen, plus it fits the ride.
  7. Oh yeah, and while waiting in line for Diamondback, I heard the real reason why there's a splashdown. The splashdown is there to cool the wheels on the coaster. Since the Diamondback runs at such high speeds, the wheels would catch fire on the final breakrun if not for the splashdown. I didn't think of that. I thought the splashdown was merely for style; not function. The wheels do not come in to contact with the water at any time. Truly memorable moments at the park were created. I still remember my first ride on (what was then) Drop Zone with my mother, and your son will remember his first big kid ride with Daddy for a long, long time.
  8. Now what would REALLY be awkward, is if BFForever was a he.
  9. Do not bother them, and they won't bother you. Mutualism!
  10. Did you hear repitition of "867-5309eeeiiiine"? It'd be 8675309 if it was. That's the only song I can think of with numbers. Unless you hear everything in binary.
  11. There are many ways a sign could be represented for The Beast. From the sign in the plaza, to decals / 3 dimensional objects placed on the train, to the banner in the station. Which are you talking about (I'm unfamiliar with the 30 / 25 marketing details)?
  12. As opposed to what, Dorney Park KIC members?
  13. @RadioRiders This isn't #Twitter!
  14. Yet they don't appear to have a problem with Disney doing, in essence, the exact same. Disney does seem to give their animals sufficient space, but PETA doesn't crack down on places like the Boonshoft or the Cincinnati Zoo for sufficient space. I'm not sure what to make of this article. On one hand, they have a point. On the other, they're nitpicking.
  15. But lots of people pay at least 10 times that to sit and watch others turn left for 4 hours. That is something I will never understand. To this day, I still don't understand the purpose of people wasting gasoline to turn left. And better yet, why people watch them. Crypt, who has been to a few races in his time, each and every one he thought was boring. *this is my opinion. Do not take it as an attack towards people who enjoy that sort of stuff, it's just not my cup of tea*
  16. Sounds like Midget Wrestling will not be returning. Thank God. That show was awful.
  17. Move Shambhala to Montana. From there, we move it to Kings Island!
  18. I got the Thunder Alley reward. It's quite boring, honestly. I don't think the cars were meant to be handling those tight repeated left turns. In fact, half way through, I was thinking "Are we done yet?" It's good if it's free, but there isn't a bat's chance in hell I would jump at a heartbeat and pay $6 to turn left...and left....and left...
  19. I assure you, all lights I saw were completely thematic lighting. I was completely blown away by it, and if they add lights in the first tunnel, it can possibly rival... A Beast night ride! Here's to hoping all lighting stays the same in the future, or gets even better!
  20. And you neglect the new and improved Express? Glad you had a great day, as well as experiencing one of your father's favorite ride with him. Your trip reports are great, and this one did not disappoint.
  21. I believe it was Thrill_Biscuit who mentioned this in another thread, but this is not a good year. Phyllis Diller (she), Neil Armstrong, Dr. Schuster, among multitudes of other people. And now Keith. I have only known him through this board, but it was very apparent that he had a glowing reputation and attitude, and he will be missed. R.I.P., Keith.
  22. Benefits for Gold Passholders will continue to include free season-long parking, early ride time on select attractions, and other benefits like free membership in the FUN Perks rewards program. There's always a lot to be excited about at Kings Island. Don chooses his words carefully. Does this mean there will be a fee to regular season passholders for FUN Perks?
  23. It's a Small World was removed from Disney World. Yeah ok.
