Wow. German flags, a carefully constructed glockenspiel, a ferris wheel, beautiful landscaping. Gone. All gone. What a shame, too.

See: 1999, with the debut of Action Zone with the new Face/Off and Drop Zone: Stunt Tower. If you can buy 2 midsized attractions, why not integrate them into the park the same year? Attractions don't have to be added 1 at a time. When Nickelodeon Universe debuted, there were several new attractions (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Plankton's Sea Plunge, and Phantom Flyers--I think).

So did stashua, so...

Please do not mention peanut butter. We are still doing a whole book in math about comparing peanut butter quality ratings. We've been doing peanut butter problems for a month now. EDIT: Congrats, Original! EDIT2: On the Peter Pan thing, step way back in time to...Neverland?

^Why not just scrap Timberwolf and use that entire space for Luminosity? It's a lot easier, less removal of paths/trees (trees are something the park is getting rid of more and more these days), and Spirit Song is about 3 days out of the entire year. Better plan, less confusing, makes sense. EDIT: I would REALLY love to see a few great flats this offseason. A couple thrilling, and other classics we need back (like Keggers, Cauldrons, Dutchman, etc)

^Cirque Ambiente is the acrobatics show of which you speak.

Do they really think that Dinosaurs Alive! fits the clientele of each and every FUN park? For all I know, however, it very well could. What is the return on investment from the first year of DA! at Kings Island and Cedar Point? If CP's is respectively lower, I wouldn't know what to expect of Carowinds' new DA! I know nothing about business, so this is from a viewer's perspective.

^The audio doesn't match the picture. I really like the logo, although I know someone who won't like how it's in Soak City... Will the train be utilized or will the walkway be the only way to get between the parks? The walking would be quite hard on the little tykes' feet if the walkway between Snoopy and Waterpark was the only way.

I concur with FTW. It was sad to watch, but on the flip side, at least it will be getting replaced. I wonder if anyone at the Point had a tear in their eye watching it fall. I really would have liked to see the damage on the cabin and tower! EDIT: Nevermind. The damage was in the link Maverick sent above.

"Countdown" can be interpreted in many ways. A countdown in this scenario could be the countdown from the announcement date to the projected opening. Didn't KD say something will be "launching" into the park come 2013? A space-themed launcher? Albeit a similar concept to FoF.

When I raced back to X-Base on rope drop one morning, I walked into the quiet station (no chitter chatter among guests--yet) of Firehawk. I noticed a very minuscule amount of Bose speakers (I think there were 6). They were playing what I thought was a score from one of the Batmen movies, but they were turned down so low I couldn't make out clearly what they were playing. It's clear those speakers work, and they definitely need to be turned up louder. It adds atmosphere!

Any type of change would be a significant change to the park. It could be as little as adding soundtracks to a few rides, to completely overhauling an attraction, but little changes do make an impact. Adding a cop car style on BLSC would be a significant change, even if a seemingly minuscule one.

I really enjoyed Gwazi! What didn't you enjoy about it? I didn't really like Montu that much, though. It was just very boring. Sad, too, as I was really looking forward to it, and the excitement of the theming and observing the train climbing the lift, traversing through the inversions.. But alas, I was severely let down. It was ROUGH! haha. Maybe we just had a bad train or car or something but it was crazy rough to ride. My fiance and I rode it this past spring break and we both had to take 30 minutes after the ride to rest before we went and walked around. It just didn't work for us. Huh. I rode in the back seat of (I think it was) Tiger. I suppose our pain tolerance is different!

I would hate to have a Luminosity esque show where Thunder Alley is located today. The stage at Cedar Point looks awful. It reeks of a cheap architect hired to create a blueprint in 5 minutes, inspired by scaffolding and spindly metal contraptions. It would ruin Adventure Express' night time atmosphere. It would create horrible bottlenecking in the surrounding area (unless the stage is smaller and / or pushed way back). I thought of something really good, but then I forgot. I suppose I will have to edit this when I remember it.

I received a free Thunder Alley ride as an instant reward and redeemed it on Labor Day Saturday. I also received the option of a free Slingshot ride to redeem on FUNPerks. I'll be using that soon to knock off the last Kings Island ride I need to ride--well, that and Rendezvous Run. Aren't we a week past Labor Day weekend? Did it operate this past weekend?

Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Tennessee Tornado, Volcano: The Blast Coaster, and last but certainly not least, Montu.

An injury or two? Unlikely. A computer error or something similar? Possibly. Anything's possible. I am in no way an expert, but on something like The Monster, couldn't the pull on one arm without a counteracting pull on the opposite result in the Camden Park incident of last year? I am not sure the exact logistics of what caused the Camden Park incident, so any and all help is appreciated. Not trying to sound like a know it all or a jerk, but I would like to know your thoughts.

I have, so far, gotten level 3 perks such as a free ride on Slingshot, a free preferred parking spot, VIP Fireworks Viewing (uh, I'm not going to redeem that one now...), $20 off 2013 Gold Season Pass, Free Bring-A-Friend Ticket, $5 Beagle Bucks, $5 merch voucher, free Dinosaurs Alive! ticket, a free pretzel, and a Meet the Train Conductor.

Some rumors just catch on by word of mouth. "Someone died on The Bat", "Vortex is sinking", and, most recently, "A test dummy flew out of WindSeeker during testing."

Ah, I understand where you are coming from now, kblanken. I should have rephrased my query. What I was getting at is could the problem be that due to the low number of riders, the operators told the guests they could sit wherever they please, thus imbalancing the gondola? If I'm not mistaken, the reason for the Carowinds' dilemma was for the sole reason of improper balancing.
-
Could have been someone a few have met, oui?
-
I doubt that would be why. I've been on the same WindSeeker when there were only a few people on, and it ran just fine. Sometimes they run it half full, or quarter full if there aren't enough riders. I've always seen somebody with a clipboard and a chart telling people where to sit. (Also, they run it empty when they test it.) Balancing is a meticulous task. Why do you think the ride operators are so strict about where guests are placed on Giant Wheel @ the Point? How about the Monster at the Island of Kings? WindSeekers? If a gondola, arm, or other means of conveyance is offbalance by the slightest, it will totally mess up how the ride performs, and could possibly end up in an injury or two.
