  1. As much as I like the in-line-roll on Banshee, that element in itself is enough to make me want to go out and try Thunderbird next Spring.
  2. Great pictures! Thanks for the updates! Keep em' comin!
  3. Some exciting news regarding Rampage from Dan Koch via Twitter this morning.... @SplashinDan on Twitter: "In 15 days the track work is complete. Need train and chain. Gotta be patient. Not easy! Rampage returns!"
  4. ^ Nice one...... ....And that's all I'll say about that.....For now.
  5. I haven't heard anything about any plans for this.....BUT..... Are there any plans for a live-stream of the announcement tomorrow?...
  6. Rampage tweet / photo update from Mr. Dan Koch via Twitter (@SplashinDan) "Rampage looking good. Still lots of work to be done. #SplashAdventure" "I love the smell of fresh number one grade lumber in the morning.Smells like victory.Rampage rules! #SplashAdventure" "The Koch family loves Alabama, America and the Rampage. God bless Alabama! #SplashAdventure" "Woo hoo! Rampage. #SplashAdventure" "Not pretty! Real train is at PTC in Philly. I'll tweet when it comes back completely refurbished. #SplashAdventure" .....And just to clarify the above photo and tweet for those of you who aren't aware......The train that Dan mentions above, is in fact in Philadelphia right now undergoing refurbishment from PTC. The train you see in the photo sitting near the station is Rampage's second train, which has not yet been sent to Philadelphia for refurbishment.
  7. VIP Tour in 2015?...... I wonder why the tour will take place in 2015?.....Maybe the milestone wont be reached until very late in the season......?
  8. As a brief explanation to tag along with Ryan's post........Posted by Ryan himself..... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/24082-the-immortal-bill-mefford/
  9. I'm not quite sure why everyone is making such noise about the whole 66 Days At Sea campaign..... I mean....We all already know that the largest investment in the park's history is going to be the world's largest pilgrim themed children's area...... Yes! That's right, you saw it here first: NEW FOR 2015 At Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, Planet Pilgrim! The World's Largest Pilgrim Themed Children's Area (This post contains no true or accurate information)
  10. Is the KI Collection narrowing down?.... I noticed these 2 items on eBay earlier and remembered that they were from jandyb79's collection. Kings Island Beastie Roller Coaster Logo Original Sculpture Kings Island 1974 Demon Roller Coaster chalk & ink original advertising artwork
  11. I've been sitting around watching the Holiday World Live Construction Cam for a little while now..... Very interesting to watch.
  12. Interesting Impulse roller coaster "teaser" released yesterday by Knoebels:
  13. .....Though he's late to the conversation.....TheBEASTunchained was thinking more along the lines of a city in Indiana that he knows, named, Columbus.....
  14. Kings Island on Facebook : "On this day 36 years ago (July 10, 1978), construction of The Beast roller coaster began. Since its debut in 1979, The Beast has given more than 49 million rides, third-most in park history behind The Racer (99 million) and the K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad (51 million)." Photo and Facebook post : Don Helbig / Kings Island via Facebook
  15. It looks as if the last 2 guests on the Ninja train have now been rescued / evacuated.
  16. Via CoasterBuzz.com : "A teenager thought to be British has died after being thrown from a roller-coaster called Hell at a theme park in Benidorm, it has emerged. The 18-year-old is thought to have been flung from the ride at the Terra Mitica theme park after his harness failed." More information regarding this tragic accident can be found via The Independent
  17. Although I haven't been to World's of Fun this season, I know that things like this are what makes an already great amusement park train ride even better. All one can do is hope that this is successful enough at WoF to make the decision easier to add this type of thing at KI once again. Take notice to what is being done at some of the FUN parks lately......The revival of some of what used to be "key-features" of the whole park and whole family experience.
  18. But we have a nice spectator tower too! It was a jab. They've said stuff like that before. I guess what they don't realize is that the fence was LITERALLY to keep guests out of an active construction zone. Does anyone really think that no one would look through the cracks in the fence? Maybe that's why there were teasers (scarecrows) beyond the fence. Lately, there have been even more sly jabs to KI from the Holiday World team........Or at least, that's the way I see it..... For example, recent billboards I have seen throughout parts of Indiana and Ohio that show The Voyage roller coaster with this caption: "GO BIG. NOT FAR. Nation's best wooden coaster." To me, at least, that seems directed towards the world's longest wooden coaster.......
  19. If used for drinking fountains and near a restroom area.....It better be potable water!
  20. @KingsIslandPR on Twitter: "On this date 33 years ago in 1981, Carl Eichelman took his 2000th ride on The Beast." (The tweet mentioned above can be found here.)
  21. The use of Disney around the park has been interesting lately....To say the least.... The Avengers come to Kings Island..... Frozen is shown at a "Dive-In Movie"........ The Little Mermaid is shown at a "Dive-In Movie"......
