  1. *Technically* the domain is still active, and parked on Cedar Fair's JobNet site. http://sonofbeast.com is still forwarding to http://kingsdominion.com. I doubt they'll let these domains expire for a long while, as it could be potentially dangerous for the company if the domains were then sold to some freelance web designer that could pose the corresponding sites as "official" websites of Cedar Fair. And as a side note, they still own pki.com (3 letter domains are EXTREMELY hard to come by), and it just forwards to http://visitkingsisland.com. I would also speculate that they still haven't purchased http://kingsisland.com hasn't been purchased yet because the current owner wants quite a chunk of change for it. (I couldn't imagine that KI/CF hasn't approached them for it...) Sorry if my thoughts aren't coming out clearly...it's all part of the web domain market that can be quite confusing, even to Miles, whose been creating websites for years. Edit: I may be wrong about this, but I don't believe Cedar Point bought a domain for Gate Keeper. It seems Cedar Fair is making custom sites within their main websites, probably for a slew of reasons including cost. See: Gate Keeper, KI for a Cure, the [new] Dino's Alive site that may or may not be live yet, Bigger, Better Planet Snoopy @ KD, etc. So for KI 2014, I'd look for internal pages on KI's site, rather than a separate domain... I agree with you about sonofbeast.com but what if thats not the case?.....Could there come a need for sonofbeast.com in the future?.....Is there more to it than what were seeing?.......
  2. I doubt it would sell... too much noise from all the rides. They should put them all inside warehouses! Put them all inside warehouses?.... 2 words....Disaster...Transport...
  3. The funniest part of this picture is that it looks like there are 2 holes for footers back there! (There aren't...It just looks like it) (Hope you don't mind I put arrows on your picture BeastForever)
  4. Picture of one of the buildings being removed. (Photo Courtesy of The New Kentucky Kingdom)
  5. All of these screams could almost lead one to believe that the evil phenomenon is Demons behind the fence.....or there could be Screamin Demons behind the fence......or could a Screamin Demon be a Banshee?... or is this a diversion?...
  6. I'd have to say that my least favorite ride at Kings Island is Zephyr, I just don't like the feel of the ride.
  7. Comparing The Beast and Montu?.... I don't think so... Comparing wood and steel roller coasters?......I don't think so.... Maybe its just me but I don't think that is a fair comparison.....Steel vs. Wood just doesn't make sense because they are Completely different.
  8. There is no ride at Kings Island called Top Gun. As for Flight Deck and Vortex, Kings Island has stated that there are no plans at the moment to remove either of them. But could Flight Deck be dismantled in 5 years? Its a possibility but I don't see it happening. Vortex is one of the most popular coasters in the park for guests and it is not sinking or being dismantled any time soon.
  9. On July 1st, The trademark "Banshee" was approved for publication. http://www.trademarkia.com/Banshee-85913369.html
  10. Sounds like a good time to visit the park if your looking to do a lot of riding in one day! Looks like you had a lot of fun!

  12. Oops , Yes I meant to include that! I did know that but I didn't include it on accident.... (Now edited)
  13. I've been to the park alone on numerous occasions with this season being no exception. I don't prefer one way over the other honestly, I'm okay with being alone or going with friends/family.Although I will say that it's pretty fun to be alone because you can meet new people, not just some, but lots of new people and its a very unique experience. Another thing you're able to do when alone at the park is meet new people while standing in line, It never hurts to start a little conversation and get to know someone new, you can get to know someone quite a bit in the 30 min. to 120 min. that your in the line.
  14. Due to the fact that this topic was recently brought back up......I thought it would be an appropriate place to post this..... Michigan's Adventure and the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) spent the day celebrating the 25th anniversary of Wolverine Wildcat and the 15th anniversary of Shivering Timbers. A celebration with cake was involved.... (Photo Courtesy of Michigan's Adventure) As a side note, Shivering Timbers is one of the Best wooden coasters around! Happy 15th! (Now Edited, with dates changed)
  15. Lets just hope that we don't end up in Alaska after the next dark ride....
  16. ...This is slightly related to this topic.... Didn't Don say that they were going to bring something back something similar to 5@5 this year?...
  17. Cedar Points newest roller coaster, Gatekeeper just opened this year and it is the longest wing coaster in the world, it features many different types of breathtaking inversions such as an inclined dive loop and a zero-g-roll. Get out to Sandusky and go key-holing while you conquer the guardian of the gate! Enjoy 2013 and the debut of Gatekeeper at Cedar Point while its still here! Its already July and Gatekeeper is closing the gates to Cedar Point in October which is closer than you think, So get out and enjoy this year at Cedar Point while its here!
  18. Maybe the forums should stand up side down. Or maybe we can get a Banshee to scare the hiccups away. Get the forums to "stand upside down" ??....I remember the days of standing upside down at Kings Island....
  19. The Indianapolis Zoo is great, I don't like it as much as the Cincinnati Zoo but I do like the Indy Zoo. Lots of good animals and a great place for a good time! I haven't been there since the "shark petting" exhibit opened to the public a few years back. I like the pictures too IndyGuy and it looks like you guys had lots of fun!
  20. Illinois -- The Enfield Horror On the evening of April 25, 1973, a young boy was playing in his yard in Enfield, Illinois, when a creature attacked him. The monster was described as having three legs, a thick body, arms that came out of its chest, and two red eyes. The creature tore at the boy's feet before the youngster could get away. Soon after, a neighbor saw the same creature and shot at it with a rifle, only to see it bound away at incredible speed. Other townspeople, including a TV newsman, had subsequent encounters with The Beast. A similar creature reportedly attacked people in a nearby town during the 1940s. (Found on trutv.com in an article about unexplained phenomenon's)
  21. In the pictures above, Was the "No Camping" sign turned around on purpose or was that caused by weather?
  22. What's Son of Beast?... There are currently no 2013 park maps or brochures for any park that have the name Son of Beast listed on them as a ride or attraction. The article was about currently operating roller coasters.
  23. Seems like a very well put together list but since I'm not a very big fan of waterparks I think another park like maybe Silver Dollar City, or SFGA should be on there. ...but that's just my opinion and I am obviously not the target audience.
  24. Great video! Thanks for sharing! David Long has always been a great photographer for the Cincinnati area.
  25. That was a comment. (so to some extent, it must have been worth it)
