And yet there was no news (that I know of) about the malfunction a month or so back. Media goes too far when it comes to common break downs like this.

Diamondback is the tallest, fastest, and meanest (good way) coaster to strike in Kings Island history from 1972-????. That doesn't mean it will always hold that record. That spirit on the other side of the park may be the point. Our Eve has showed me the most spills out of any coaster I've been on.

Diamondback had 4 buses if memory serves me right. I still remember bits of Robbie.

I don't think they would be able to replace the restraints on the trains, but get new trains. It seems to me that the dimensions of Banshee's trains are different than the first generation inverts. Also the seats are tilted differently, so spending millions on new trains is what is going to happen if that path is taken. I wouldn't mind riding Raptor with Banshee's trains though.

The Most Insane New Rollercoasters
ProdigyRider replied to Hoeter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It belongs there, but there are a lot of good rides opening this year. A little off topic, but on CNN Student News for 4/21/14, Banshee is mentioned at the end of the show. I then began to mention how I rode it 4 times already. -
The crew was fantastic today. I agree with the tweets about Banshee, it was a big improvement. I racked up 3 rides today, row 1, row 8, and row 8 again at night. The forces Banshee produces in the back can not relate to anything else.

I hold nothing against the crew, but it is early in the season. Later, the crew will be more experienced and will be able to hold perfect dispatches. I imagine it is hard it is to time a coaster with no mid course brakes and not be able to see the train running most of the time. I respect them for their operations, I'm just saying they were a little slower until later in the day.
-
The ride itself is amazing. The crew did not seem up to par yet, continuously stacking until about 4:00 - 4:30. As well, the ride kept shutting down early (Clean-up row 2?). The ride was intense, but too intense it seems to the people with weak stomachs. I heard a lot of people were sick after Banshee. She is not like anything I've ever seen. They have a number one new coaster in my books. Congrats Kings Island.

5000 people is a lot still. Diamondback had 12000 people ride on opening day, on a beautiful Saturday. My approximation is that 1000 general guests get Shirts, I was thinking 1500, but its estimated capacity means more pass holders will ride it.

Watching the POV of OzIris makes me think of Banshee. The curved drop and the dive loop are a shorter version of Banshee.

I think, down the center of the train, is a steel bar that connects with each car. For Instance, under Diamondback's train is a silver bar or casing that the brakes can grab hold of to stop the train. The launch fins on the track get an electric charge and turn magnetic, pushing the train similar to Linear Induction Motors found on Flight of Fear and Backlot Stunt Coasters. This is Maverick's case, but there are other ways to achieve a launch, like catch cars or drive tires.

I would say the overflow could use Wolf Pack's queue line down near The Bat, but not through the maze, unless its been cleared for use.

Diamondback had shirts for A Kid Again and the general public. The participants received a shirt similar to the general public, but with their number on the back. Maybe a shirt or some sort of collectible thousands of the G.P. attending can have would be the answer. I'm just waiting on my Banshee keychain.

Also to add on a little known fact from the obvious, Banshee is an Inverted coaster. Yes, we all know that now. What I see is no obstruction between the station gates between cars and to the other side. Why not have bins when guests can get to the other side with ease. I, listening to my winter percussion show, did something in my mind at 2 am.

Nor will there always be four hour lines on rides. Every ride has their day.
-
Probably 30 on the lift, and around 55 for the drop, what are you making it on?
-
And it's half way completed, that was quick work for the crew today. A good segment of track within a partial day of work. Efficiency at its finest. Smooth sailing into the carousel turn.

Wow, I am happy I don't have school on Good Friday. It's weird to open up on Friday, especially Good Friday

Seeing Diamondback's line wrap around Rivertown in 2009, and a growth in customers, Opening Day 2014 might be one of the busiest yet. I forecast a full queue line, and maybe a trip though other areas of Action Zone and maybe the nearby areas.
-
"No Bags Past This Point' makes its trip to Action Zone I guess. I normally wear cargo shorts when I make my visits, but I also carry a drawstring bag on longer days so I can have what I need. I really would like small bins for the one item people instead of these people who seemingly put their entire car of merchandise and prizes inside a bin. There should be no way to purge money out of park guests for an hour while they ride one ride storing a small bag. Small bins just big enough for small bags would do. I usually have my bag in a bin and back in my seat before ride ops come around to my seat. Smaller articles are easier to manage.

Gold Passes Sell Out Date? Water Park Opening Date?
ProdigyRider replied to Rachaelnoel76's topic in Kings Island
Soak City usually opens the weekend of or after Memorial Day.
